[1]
Hey ad Tyler Perry here want to take you
[5]
on a tour of Tyler Perry studios so hop
[8]
in come on let's go for a ride Studios
[17]
is three hundred and thirty acres in the
[19]
heart of Atlanta this was all Fort
[22]
McPherson army base
[24]
there was an 18 hole golf course here
[26]
that rivaled Augusta it was absolutely
[30]
beautiful
[31]
but when the army went away so there's
[34]
all of the majesty of the golf course so
[36]
we've just been developing it building
[39]
as we need it
[40]
hold on we don't have to do the
[42]
Flintstones to get up this hill
[44]
she wouldn't let me take my other Kart
[46]
the fast one I think I can I think I can
[50]
I think I can make it up the hill and I
[52]
think out then I did all right
[54]
so twelve sound stages we're getting
[56]
ready for our big grand opening
[58]
celebration where we will be dedicating
[61]
these sound stages to a lot of people
[64]
who have inspired and encouraged me over
[66]
the years so you got Halle Berry here
[69]
and Denzel Washington and Whoopi
[72]
Goldberg and Oprah lots of things have
[75]
been shot here The Walking Dead black
[78]
panther a shot here first man into the
[80]
family with Mark Wahlberg really excited
[83]
to be given stewardship to make sure
[86]
that
[87]
this maintain that the history is
[89]
protected and always serviced and known
[94]
for many people this is Maxine bill it's
[99]
our back lot where I shoot a few of my
[102]
TV shows some of the fans of those shows
[104]
will definitely recognize some of these
[108]
houses especially this neighborhood in
[110]
particular from if loving you is wrong
[112]
so this area in magazine Ville is
[116]
dedicated to Mardi Mardi additional
[120]
this is madea's house pretty famous
[124]
character from a lot of my movies so the
[126]
original house is down the street in
[127]
this neighborhood on Avon Avenue but
[129]
we've wanted to have a place where
[130]
visitors and fans of medea can actually
[132]
come and see it you can walk in this
[134]
house is like she's gonna come down the
[135]
stairs with her big huge self and say hi
[138]
and feed you it's all furnished and
[140]
ready to go Maxine bill is I named it
[143]
after my mother Maxine who passed in
[145]
2009 so this whole area this whole
[147]
neighborhood I wanted to be a town named
[149]
after her in her honor and she was so
[151]
happy to have that it's very sentimental
[153]
for me and and we do a lot of shooting
[155]
down here for a lot of the show so it's
[157]
always it's always really fun and
[159]
powerful and it's a good memory of her
[161]
to be down here she was very proud of I
[163]
[Music]
[165]
did this show where I needed a farmhouse
[167]
that looked like it was a hundred years
[169]
old so we built a farmhouse and set it
[172]
among these old trees to make it look
[174]
like it was had been there forever
[175]
and one day we're gonna get there on
[179]
this cart going up the hill but this is
[184]
our farmhouse they're all practical
[188]
inside you can go in and shoot inside
[189]
even though it looks like it's very
[190]
oldest only built a few years ago so let
[194]
me show you a little bit more of Maxine
[196]
ville so I built this house for one of
[199]
my shows it's a four-sided mansion that
[201]
I built to combat some of the sets that
[204]
we were building I just thought why not
[206]
build a permanent structure that has
[208]
four different sides to it
[210]
that could be four different places all
[213]
in one so I'll show you what I mean
[215]
here we have the Georgian side of the
[219]
mansion for one of my lead characters
[221]
she and our family and everybody live
[223]
here but if you go put across the grass
[226]
and really piss somebody off and then
[228]
you're here and it has a whole nother
[230]
feel to it
[231]
this was the president's home before he
[234]
went to Washington DC and they have to
[236]
have knobs and then there's this side
[238]
totally different and then we have this
[242]
side which is very modern
[244]
tried to make the best use of the space
[246]
and the places and there you have it
[249]
watch your knees see if we can get
[252]
through here legs and arms in that ain't
[256]
good good okay great now I'm going to
[262]
show you the White House welcome to the
[267]
White House so still a lot of cleaning
[269]
being done here but don't know how to
[275]
turn the lights on let's go upstairs
[277]
this is the 80% replica of the actual
[281]
White House in Washington DC so we built
[283]
this for my new show called The Oval on
[286]
B et and we're really proud of how it
[288]
turned out
[289]
the residents of the White House famous
[292]
iconic window here president's bedroom
[296]
some hell has gone on in this room over
[299]
the last episodes oh we've done some
[302]
everything in here it's the daughter's
[303]
room this is the son's room we built
[306]
this about five and half months ago we
[310]
started it it's the only White House has
[311]
ever been built at a studio on a lot and
[314]
we are really excited about it so I'm
[316]
gonna show you more of the property come
[318]
on there's a lot more to see Obama my
[321]
man
[324]
[Music]
[327]
all of these houses were all built in
[329]
the 1800s they are extremely extremely
[332]
beautiful inside every one of them the
[335]
one in the center is where I shot two
[336]
Madea movies and that's also where
[340]
President Roosevelt stayed and colon
[342]
Powell these were all that places for
[345]
the generals and the officers to stay
[347]
when they were on campus the church here
[350]
on the campus that also built in the
[352]
1800s really beautiful inside not much
[355]
has been touched all of these buildings
[358]
are on the National Historic Registry so
[359]
I take great pride in maintaining them
[362]
at their original state okay so this is
[367]
the post Theatre in the walking dead
[370]
this was the home of the Kingdom where
[374]
the tiger was on the stage and come on
[376]
I'll show you if the lights are on
[378]
I don't think the lights are on and
[380]
that's where the tiger was on the stage
[384]
in the kingdom for the walking dead the
[387]
tiger was on the stage hello I love
[392]
walking dead I love walking dead oh I
[394]
got to show you something this is
[395]
madea's car she would say this is my
[399]
1974 cattle action and I bought it in 74
[402]
and hadn't had maintenance on it since
[403]
but if you notice the luxury plastic on
[406]
the seats you can see if you are
[407]
Architectural Digest this what's wrong
[409]
people all could take the drive just
[410]
they don't know how to put plastic on
[411]
the furniture you buy all that nice [聽__聽]
[413]
spend all that money on all that nice
[415]
[聽__聽] but they don't know how to put no
[416]
plastic on the furniture put plastic on
[419]
all your yeah thank you this is my cat
[421]
nap
[421]
[Music]
[427]
this part goes to miles of that welcome
[435]
to the dream building the reason I named
[437]
this building the dream building is
[439]
because it was a dream come true for me
[441]
it's a dream come true for everybody who
[443]
comes to work here I wanted it to be
[445]
inspirational for so many people if they
[447]
have a dream I feel like their dream
[448]
become true so that's why I just wanted
[450]
to inspire you so this is the dream
[451]
building where as I know it looks pretty
[453]
like just an office building here but
[455]
there's a whole world just beyond these
[459]
doors if you want to be in a hotel
[461]
hallway like to say the ritz-carlton or
[463]
something then all of a sudden you're in
[465]
a hotel hallway you want to be in the
[468]
presidential suite of one of those hotel
[471]
rooms you just right here all on the
[473]
third floor magic and to happen have
[479]
nots I have a character that lives in a
[481]
brownstone well this is our brownstone
[487]
so you just bring the cameras in and
[490]
shoot and then if you get sick and need
[493]
to go to the hospital turn this corner
[495]
and you're in the hospital we've shot in
[498]
this hallway of the hospital for
[500]
acrimony look that way show them that
[501]
way you show me show me now come back to
[503]
me look at me look at me I'm over here
[505]
look at me yeah okay let me go this way
[506]
more hospital fake elevator pretty cool
[511]
but looks real but doesn't go anywhere
[515]
don't go with any other floor why it's
[517]
super sexy loft in the haves and
[519]
have-nots I feel like I could live in
[520]
this apartment it's pretty cool work it
[523]
on a restaurant here I haven't seen
[525]
yellow restaurant that's about to be
[529]
finished and convert it let's do look
[532]
for you who's coming along great
[533]
here are two cool bars this is our Irish
[538]
pub that we shot lots of things and this
[540]
bar was actually in my house in the
[542]
basement and I sold it to the studio
[543]
when I moved because I thought it was so
[545]
amazing such a great bar and this is the
[548]
iron bone bar from the haves and
[551]
have-nots
[551]
and I love it because of the way it's
[553]
always led the way feels really nice
[556]
dive-bar a lot of bad things go on here
[557]
but it's kind of cool very authentic
[560]
very unique the set decorators did a
[561]
great job with it everything you've seen
[563]
everything I've shown you I'm actually
[564]
drawn to scale gave it to the the
[566]
builders to designer saying this is what
[568]
I want so that's the way I've been very
[569]
specific in the design and build of this
[571]
building for my house everything is just
[574]
I love architecture from the bottom of
[575]
heart if I wasn't in this business I
[577]
would probably want to be a really great
[580]
architect thank you thank you so much ID
[586]
thank you all the people watched I hope
[588]
that this inspires you to know that you
[590]
can dream it you can do it you can
[592]
believe you can build anything you want
[594]
god bless you all right I get out get
[597]
out thank you it's been great seeing you
[599]
I appreciate it
[600]
time to go thank you
[603]
