[7]
Hi. Good evening. I'm Jaron Ng Sinco.
[10]
I want to share my testimony about my academics
[16]
On my 12th Year, from 1st - 3rd Quarter, I was awarded WITH HONORS
[21]
and on the 4th Quarter, I was awarded WITH HIGH HONORS
[24]
and this is one of my biggest achievements
[26]
when I saw this achievement, I remembered what I went through
[30]
I wasn't always the bright student
[33]
I was not always a diligent person
[35]
I always flopped in Grade 7
[39]
I was lazy and had no will to learn
[42]
I love gimmicks more than finishing my homework
[46]
I didn't focus on my academics
[49]
And my parents were disappointed at me
[53]
I was not doing very well, not just as a student, but as a person.
[59]
I always received RED MARKS - failing marks.
[62]
My highest grades were 76-79 and I even had grades as low as 61
[69]
My parents told me that studying was for my sake, not theirs
[75]
Your actions reflect who you are
[80]
We must always be excellent
[81]
We cannot settle for mediocrity
[87]
We should always aim high because we can
[90]
We just don't want to
[92]
I realized something major that day
[96]
I need to improve - not because they told me to - but because my future is on the line.
[102]
I prayed and asked God if someone like me can actually do this
[108]
What is prayer without action?
[110]
So I told my parents I would improve from now on. They don't need to hire a tutor anymore. I will do it
[119]
So my grades started improving.
[124]
My dad was surprised and glad at my progress
[127]
When he praised me, my heart burned with passion to be excellent
[131]
It felt really good to be acknowledged for what I did
[135]
My grades kept increasing until I got line of 9s
[140]
which never happened before
[143]
I started to become more responsible
[146]
not only as a student, but as a Christian and a person
[149]
I feel so proud of myself because
[152]
I thought there was no hope for me
[157]
but God told me I can do it - I just didn't want to
[164]
God is so amazing because He was the one who really did it
[167]
He carried me through everything
[171]
When I got my 1st certificate during Grade 11, I wanted to be more excellent
[176]
When we want to be excellent, we will be motivated to keep aspiring for more.
[184]
We cannot stay at the status quo. If we can do it - why not? Just aim for more.
[190]
I feel so proud of the support God gave me.
[194]
God will always do unexpected things for you.
[199]
I became fired up as a Christian and as a student.
[206]
When I got to Grade 12, I didn't had a grade below 90!
[210]
My lowest grade was 92!
[213]
My lowest grade was still line of 9
[216]
I felt so happy for myself that I got this far
[222]
God really knows His plans for us
[226]
I only had small plans but God has bigger and better plans
[233]
And soon you realize His plans are better than yours
[244]
I improved not just as a student but as a person. I was proud of myself.
[250]
Even my parents were proud of me. I felt happy hearing it especially after the hard work I went through.
[261]
If we think there is no hope
[264]
or you can't find ways to be better
[268]
you just need to find that spark in your heart
[272]
that you want to be excellent not only for you but for the Lord
[276]
I really dedicate myself to the Lord and to my parents
[280]
We need to be expectant that the Lord can help us through our struggles
[292]
The Lord is always there. We just need to open our hearts and accept Him.
[300]
And that's how I got here. There's always more to life.
[305]
So I will always keep aiming for more. I won't stay where I am.
[314]
Thank you.
