How to Program Your Raindrip R675CT Battery
[10]
Operated Timer
Thanks for your recent purchase of our new
[12]
Raindrip Timer.
[14]
Programming a timer can appear to be difficult,
but I am here to walk you through the programming,
[17]
step by step, and provide you with additional
resources that are available if you still
[21]
need help.
[23]
Before you get started, it is important that
you begin programming at the time of day you
[27]
want your watering to begin.
[29]
This is a simple timer that does not know
what time it is it only knows to go on
[32]
or off every hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours,
1 week.you get the idea.
[38]
Let me give you an example, if you want your
watering to start at 6 am, then turn the frequency
[43]
dial to 24 hours at 6o clock in the morning.
[46]
Lets begin programming
This timer operates with water pressure greater
[53]
than 15PSI.
[55]
That means you cannot use this timer to control
water flow from, say a rain barrel.
[60]
Pressure must be applied.
[61]
Additionally, this timer must be installed
on a hose bib above ground do not install
[66]
it on a hose or location that has the timer
laying on the ground.
[70]
This video will cover installation and programming.
[72]
We will cover programming first but note that
you can also install the timer and program
[76]
afterward if thats more convenient.
[78]
First, check your supply tubing, if it has
a hose thread adapter already installed, you
[83]
are ready to begin programming.
[85]
If not, you will need to purchase a swivel
adapter that fits your supply tubing.
[89]
To determine the size of your supply tubing
so you purchase the right adapter, simply
[93]
measure the diameter of your tubing.
[95]
The most common sizes are , 5/8 and
.710.
[97]
To connect the swivel adapter, simply push
it onto the end of the tubing.
[105]
Before you begin, youre going to need 2
AA, alkaline batteries and the timer.
[110]
Once you have these things together and youve
decided your start time, you need to set all
[113]
three dials to OFF and RESET.
[117]
Once this is done, turn over the timer and
remove the battery cover.
[121]
Pull on the tabs on the back of the timer
to get access to the battery compartment,
[125]
then load the 2 AA batteries as indicated
inside the battery tray.
[130]
Now you are ready to program the timer
First, determine how often you want the water
[137]
to come on.
[138]
Your options are 1 time per hour all the way
to 1 time per week.
[141]
Lets say we want to water once a day.
[144]
Locate the FREQUENCY dial note that the
numbers on this dial represent hours - We
[149]
turn the frequency dial to 24 hours.
[151]
Now, you need to determine how long you want
the water to run.
[154]
Lets say we want our water to run for 15
minutes each time the water comes on.
[159]
Locate the RUN TIME dial and turn the
dial to 15.
[162]
Note that the numbers on this dial are in
minutes.
[166]
Make sure your RUN TIME setting is always
less than the frequency setting.
[170]
There you go, wait for the confirmation flash
on the automatic light and you are done programming
[172]
the timer.
[173]
The automatic light will continue flashing
and watering will begin 24 hours later because
[177]
the frequency dial is set to 24.
[183]
To install the timer, place the timer up to
the hose bib.
[186]
Hold the body of the timer face up and screw
on to the hose bib by hand tightening the
[191]
nut - do not use a wrench or any tool as it
might break the nut.
[194]
If you are connecting a garden hose to your
timer, youre ready to go.
[197]
If you are connecting a drip system to your
timer, then you need to connect your swivel
[201]
adapter.
[202]
To connect your drip system, you need to first
attach your swivel adapter to your supply
[206]
tubing.
[208]
Locate the nut at the bottom of the adapter
and twist it clockwise until tight.
[212]
Now push the supply tubing onto the swivel
adapter.
[215]
Make sure the end of the supply tubing is
past the barb and is secure inside the swivel
[220]
adapter.
[221]
Finally, twist the nut counter-clockwise over
the supply tubing to lock it in place.
[226]
Once the swivel adapter is attached to your
tubing, twist it onto the timer, turn the
[230]
water on and youre done!
[235]
Sometimes you may find yourself in a situation
where you need to water in between programmed
[239]
start times.
[240]
An extra hot day or possibly to test your
system will require the use of this feature.
[245]
To water manually, simply locate the MANUAL
WATER Dial at the top of the timer and
[250]
turn to the desired watering duration.
[252]
After the manual water cycle is complete,
the timer will AUTOMATICALLY revert back to
[256]
the previously programmed setting.
[259]
For example, if we wanted to add an extra
10 minutes to our water cycle today, we would
[263]
turn the dial to 10.
[265]
You will see a confirmation flash on the manual
light indicating that the programming is complete.
[270]
The manual light will continue flashing while
the timer is in manual mode and will turn
[274]
off once the manual watering cycle ends.
[277]
When it rains, this timer has a feature that
allows you to delay the watering for up to
[284]
72 hours.
[285]
Dont worry, you will not lose your original
program.
[288]
Here is how it works.
[289]
Go to the RAIN DELAY dial and turn it
to the desired delay time which is featured
[293]
in hours.
[294]
In this case, we are going ask our timer to
stop watering for 48 hours.
[299]
That means this timer will delay normal programmed
watering for the next 48 hours.
[304]
The manual light will display a confirmation
flash once the programming is complete and
[308]
will continue flashing while the timer is
in rain delay mode.
[312]
The manual light goes off once the rain delay
cycle ends.
