[0]

score and the comments went absolutely not today聽聽
[10]
we're going to talk about it right now and聽
we're going to talk about how exactly i got聽聽
[13]
that 800 credit score and how you can do the same聽
thing thanks to credit karma i'm gonna walk you聽聽
[18]

absolutely free to use i've never paid a dime聽聽
[23]
for the thing and i've had it for like how many聽
months now haven't even paid a dime i haven't聽聽
[27]
been scammed haven't gotten annoying emails hey聽
before we get started i want to welcome back my聽聽

[43]
i want to talk about an important thing and that聽
is the question of the day why do you think credit聽聽
[48]
scores are important comment down below drop me聽
a line and let me know why you think a credit聽聽
[53]
score is really that important or do you think a聽
credit score isn't really important are you kind聽聽
[57]
of in the dave ramsey field of saying credit聽
scores are an i love debt score and the more聽聽
[61]
your credit score goes up the more you're in debt聽
guess what i'm debt free my credit score is 800.聽聽
[71]
but who cares i'll get to that a little bit聽
later drop a line with your thoughts down below聽聽
[75]
let's get to it i'm gonna actually hop over to my聽
computer we're gonna get down to this little uh聽聽
[79]
scene right here we're gonna go onto the computer聽
so i can walk you through exactly my credit karma聽聽
[83]
report and tell you all the details of how you聽
can get an 800 plus credit score so here we are聽聽
[90]
all right we're on on credit karma's website uh聽
there's a link down below in the description click聽聽
[95]
on that link that'll take you over to credit card聽
get started today i'm going to walk you through聽聽
[99]
exactly what's going on the very first thing聽
of course we got to do is log into the thing聽聽
[103]
and i'll do that right now and then here we聽
are my friends and as i shared with you on聽聽
[108]
that video here's my 800 score so how this works聽
and in fact what i want you to do if you haven't聽聽
[114]
seen that original video yet i'll include a link聽
to that video above as well as down below in the聽聽
[120]
description and it talks about a little bit of how聽
credit comment actually works how they calculate聽聽
[125]
credit scores but they pull from two different聽
ways transunion which is one of the major聽聽
[130]
credit reporting bureaus as well as equifax聽
there is another one called experian but for this聽聽
[135]
purpose they only have these two what's really聽
cool about credit karma as you can see right here聽聽
[141]
it's checked daily on transunion i think that's聽
kind of cool equifax is usually i think it's like聽聽
[147]
once a week or so it'll pop in a new score here聽
or an updated score based on what is going on聽聽
[153]
so i got to tell you guys really quick years聽
ago i would hop over to annualcreditreport.com聽聽
[159]
and uh once a year i would just pull up my credit聽
report now that was my credit report not my credit聽聽
[165]
score so it was just kind of like that was what聽
i was doing just to kind of monitor my credit聽聽
[169]
and sometimes i would use my credit card benefits聽
to see what my credit score was but i'll tell you聽聽
[174]
what now that i use credit karma it's been just聽
super easy you can either do it this way here on聽聽
[179]
the browser as we have up right now or you can hop聽
over on the phone there's an app for credit karma聽聽
[184]
that you can keep an eye on as well so here's the聽
trick what i'm going to do is i'm going to walk聽聽
[189]
you through exactly how i do this and why it's聽
important let's say you're sitting here with a 500聽聽
[194]
or a 600 credit score how do you get that up聽
into the exceptional range you want to get it聽聽
[199]
as high as possible the maximum score is an 850 so聽
higher the better all right i'm going to click on聽聽
[208]
we'll start with transunion and as you see here聽
on the browser you just click on whatever you want聽聽
[212]
okay so i'm going to start with transients click聽
on it and that's going to take you over to this聽聽
[217]
next screen now here's where it's going to show聽
you some history and i want to point something out聽聽
[222]
because i know a lot of you are going to zoom聽
in here right now and be like wait a minute look聽聽
[225]
what's going on down here you weren't at an 800聽
back here in early 2021. what's going on here 791聽聽
[232]
i was doing a test and specifically what i聽
was doing back here is i decided to max out聽聽
[238]
one of my credit cards i still pay it off every聽
single month in full so that way i'm not debt聽聽
[243]
free and carrying over a balance but because聽
i maxed out that credit card my utilization聽聽
[249]
went very low and when your utilization goes low聽
your credit score drops and i'll explain what聽聽
[255]
that means in just a moment but as you can see聽
right now i'm sitting at an 814 you can see up聽聽
[260]
here went up to an 817 all is fine that's great聽
if i want to hop over to equifax i can either聽聽
[265]
go back to the home screen or just click right聽
here and right here we go 811 went up to an 814聽聽
[271]
and down here to 787 during my little test so i'm聽
gonna hop back to transient the very first thing聽聽
[276]
you want to do is look down below here this聽
is the key of what you want to look at when聽聽
[284]
it comes down to how do i improve my credit score聽
the very first thing is your payment history the聽聽
[289]
easiest way to get your credit score up are these聽
two right here payment history and credit card use聽聽
[295]
now if you've had some prior months where you聽
weren't doing too well with your payment history聽聽
[300]
you're gonna have to keep focusing on that聽
it's a little bit more of a marathon but聽聽
[304]
every single month make sure you pay your credit聽
card on time at minimum and pay your loans on time聽聽
[311]
every single month don't ever ever delay no聽
matter what you can do scrape as much money聽聽
[316]
get a side hustle work for dominoes deliver pizza聽
on the weekends figure your way out to never have聽聽
[323]
to be late on any payments ever that's a key point聽
the next step and this is important let's say your聽聽
[329]
payment history is on point but your credit聽
score is at like a 600 or 700 you want to get聽聽
[334]
it up a little bit higher and you're like well聽
my payment history which is a high impact a very聽聽
[338]
good weight to your credit score that's looking聽
great well the next step you want to look at is聽聽
[343]
over here at the credit card use it's basically聽
looking at how much of your available credit line聽聽
[351]
are you using creditors look at it this way if聽
all of a sudden you have like let's say a twenty聽聽
[357]
thousand dollar limit on your credit and you're聽
using nineteen thousand dollars that means you聽聽
[362]
only have one thousand dollars left to spend on聽
credit the higher that amount is the more risky聽聽
[368]
creditors find you to be the reason for that is聽
they're worried that you're going to go rogue聽聽
[373]
and you might not be able to pay your bills聽
because you have too much racked up in debt聽聽
[377]
so i'm going to actually dive into this is聽
another cool thing about credit card if you聽聽
[381]
click on any one of these boxes it'll give you a聽
deeper dive i'm going to click on credit card use聽聽
[386]
for an example it's going to pop me over here and聽
let me know what's going on first thing i want to聽聽
[390]
point out is right over here check this out right聽
here two percent so i have an eighty four thousand聽聽
[395]
dollar credit line right now at fifteen hundred聽
dollars is being used this is basically my uh聽聽
[400]
credit card that i continuously pay off in full聽
every single month sometimes i don't always hit聽聽
[405]
the statement date so it gets reported but look聽
at this zero to nine percent is boom bam great聽聽
[411]
10 to 29 is still good so i'll give you one thumb聽
up instead of two and then we get serious around聽聽
[417]
49 to 30 percent anything down below here is what聽
you want to avoid my friends is 49 down to 75聽聽
[424]
plus if you're using that much of your available聽
credit right here you got to stop you got to get聽聽
[429]
this down to at least 29 or preferably in the聽
low nine eight seven six five four three two one聽聽
[438]
okay so that's what's going on here now another聽
thing it will do is let you know what's actually聽聽
[444]
going on with all your different credit now this聽
will pull in any type of credit card you have聽聽
[449]
and that's what you want to zero in on now聽
right now you can see right here i have聽聽
[454]
this one amex which only has a 7 800 limit so聽
what i decided to do a couple months ago is i聽聽
[460]
i said okay well my overall credit which i shared聽
with you right over here at 84 000 that's looking聽聽
[466]
good so if i jump this over here let's say i jump聽
right here it says amex right and i say i'm going聽聽
[473]
to max that out to 7 800 let's give it a try right聽
so i decide to put like five thousand dollars on聽聽
[481]
it well what's going to happen is that particular聽
card which you can see is green right now will go聽聽
[485]
to potentially orange or red which orange red is聽
50 to 75 plus and for that you can actually have聽聽
[493]
a risk of bringing your credit score down just a聽
little bit as a result of maxing out one credit聽聽
[499]
so that's kind of weird you gotta also look at聽
not only your overall credit card use but your聽聽
[504]
individual credit card use too this is why i never聽
recommend getting a store credit card because if聽聽
[510]
you get like a store credit card at like a target聽
or sears is sears even around anymore i don't know聽聽
[518]
but anyway you get a store credit card jcpenney聽
jcpenney still around we'll say jcpenney you go聽聽
[523]
in you get that kind of credit card typically聽
their store credit cards come with a very low聽聽
[528]
balance 500 a thousand five thousand dollars聽
and if you're buying a major purchase right聽聽
[534]
away on that store credit card you end up having聽
a higher utilization it impacts your credit score聽聽
[540]
so this is your ace in the hole in my opinion聽
to focus on first is credit card utilization and聽聽
[547]
that will help you quickly turn around a better聽
credit score and you can monitor it right here聽聽
[553]
on creditcardman.com month over month week of the聽
week to see if that helps improve you a little bit聽聽
[558]
so another high impact is any derogatory marks so聽
if you have one of these this is another marathon聽聽
[564]
one just like the payment history but a collection聽
a tax lien bankruptcy anything like that if you聽聽
[570]
found yourself in that trap before you're gonna聽
have to just ride out the wave you got to let some聽聽
[576]
years pass you by in order to get back up onto the聽
good mark i know that sucks to hear but guys that聽聽
[582]
doesn't mean give up it's like the old adage of聽
saying well just because i have one flat tire on聽聽
[587]
my car i'm going to take a knife and slash all the聽
rest of the three of them you don't do that you聽聽
[593]
fix the one tire so focus on that don't slash and聽
just give up and who cares about this i give up聽聽
[600]
now just take the time let it go away and things聽
will improve bankruptcies i believe stay on your聽聽
[606]
record for about seven to ten years so that'll聽
be something to keep in mind then we get down聽聽
[610]
into the lower things that things don't matter as聽
much and that's the credit age the total accounts聽聽
[616]
which is a low impact and your hard inquiries聽
so here's the deal uh hard inquiries first of聽聽
[623]
all credit climate as they're checking every聽
single day on transunion and once a week or so on聽聽
[628]
equifax that's not considered a hard inquiry so聽
you don't have to worry about credit karma ruining聽聽
[633]
your credit score they do what is called a soft聽
inquiry not a hard inquiry so just keep that in聽聽
[638]
mind a hard inquiry is something like a mortgage聽
application or an auto loan anything like that is聽聽
[644]
called a hard inquiry now you can see i've had聽
three and that's usually in the last i believe聽聽
[649]
a year or two it's actually two years so in fact i聽
can click on here it'll tell me so let's see here聽聽
[656]
it's a temporary ding i usually bounce back in聽
about three months plan ahead nine to 12 months聽聽
[661]
before getting a mortgage or a big loan so yeah聽
the the key here is you know try to give it at聽聽
[666]
least a year or so and keep those inquiries down聽
the reason i have high inquiries at the moment聽聽
[672]
is i'm actually looking at once again refinancing聽
the mortgage we are actually gonna pay off our聽聽
[677]
mortgage early in five years i can't wait i'm聽
gonna update you guys here on the channel about聽聽
[682]
it so make sure you subscribe so you don't聽
miss those video updates but obviously i聽聽
[687]
got to take a little bit of a ding here on my聽
heart inquiries and i'll have to get over that聽聽
[691]
but anyway so that's kind of what that's all聽
about credit age that's pretty simple the longer聽聽
[695]
you have had credit the better so if you are聽
a student and you're just getting started off聽聽
[699]
you've turned 18 get yourself a credit card and聽
be smart with it do not use money you don't have聽聽
[705]
just use it for your everyday bills that you聽
already have cash in the bank for and then pay聽聽
[709]
off the credit card in full every single month聽
and that'll just help you kind of get some credit聽聽
[713]
rolling without getting yourself caught up into a聽
big trouble problem of uh of debt right all right聽聽
[720]
so now let's hop over to equifax really quick and聽
same type of thing here so what strange you'll see聽聽
[726]
here is everything else kind of checks out like聽
transunion but here it actually has credit age聽聽
[732]
six years and two months which is giving me聽
a yellow bar a little bit less and then hard聽聽
[736]
inquiries of six which is red so let's check out聽
what's going on there sometimes what you'll see聽聽
[742]
is that depending on the creditor they're gonna聽
either ping transunion or equifax maybe they not聽聽
[748]
maybe they don't get reporting from all three聽
of the credit reporting bureaus so in this case聽聽
[752]
equifax was used more by mother creditors than聽
transunion it just happens that's just something聽聽
[758]
that happens okay so i wish this would actually聽
go back it doesn't let me go back any further聽聽
[762]
than what i see here for the beginning of the year聽
because obviously i want to show you my 800 from聽聽
[766]
before so you don't think i'm trying to recover聽
here but anyway this was a test and it obviously聽聽
[771]
worked to what i was trying to do to see if that聽
one credit card could bring my score down and it聽聽
[776]
certainly did bring me down to about a 787 but聽
what you got to do guys hop over to credit karma聽聽
[781]
and dig into each one of these categories these聽
are the things to focus on again focus on payment聽聽
[786]
history and most importantly credit card use first聽
these are the things with the high impact that聽聽
[791]
will help bring you up a little bit quicker so聽
now more than ever guys an 800 credit score a 700聽聽
[797]
credit score 700 plus is always important you know聽
why because it is not only a key factor in helping聽聽
[804]
you with some of the biggest purchases in your聽
life such as a house you want to buy a house you聽聽
[809]
sometimes need a good credit score in order to get聽
a good mortgage not only that some jobs are also聽聽
[816]
now looking at your credit report and your credit聽
score and offering you a job i know that sounds聽聽
[822]
absurd but some people are doing this now because聽
they want to see how well does this person handle聽聽
[826]
their money and their overall credit as a key聽
factor of how they handle their life are they聽聽
[831]
a potential good prospective employee don't be聽
on the wrong side of that fence guys be smart聽聽
[838]
start today here's some other videos you're聽
going to find like that are incredibly badass聽聽
[841]
you got to check them out right now click either聽
one of these and we'll see you on the next video
