revolut have three different paid plans revolut  plus revolut premium and revolut metal the revolut  

plus costs two pound ninety nine per month  the revolut premium costs six pound ninety  

nine a month and the most expensive the revolut  metal cost twelve pounds ninety nine per month  

you'll see on the website they actually offer  a discount if you pay yearly instead of monthly  

and this discount as they say is around 20 so the  revolut plus will cost you 29.99 if you pay yearly  

and at a discount of around 16.4 revolut premium  will cost you 72 pounds if you pay for the year  

and that's a discount of around 14 revolut  metal will cost you 120 pounds if you pay yearly  

and that's a discount on the monthly cost of  23.1 percent as you can see these percentages  

are pretty random so i'm not too sure  how they've come up with these figures  

but they are a discount nonetheless so after  watching this video if you feel like one of  

the plans are for you you can definitely get a  discount if you pay yearly instead of monthly  

if you're new to revolut another way to save  money or earn money is by signing up using the

the first everyday benefit on the revolut plans  is the no fee atm withdrawal limit on the plus  

plan you get a 200 pounds per month limit now this  is actually the same as the free plan but on the  

premium account you get a limit of 400 pounds  per month and with the metal that's doubled  

again to 800 pounds per month the three paid  plans will have customizable cards this is one  

of the big benefits that they advertise with  the accounts but this feature is actually not  

available yet and they haven't actually made it  clear what date this will be available with the  

premium and metal plan though they do have an  exclusive range of card designs to choose from  

as well as the exclusive metal card which  is reserved for the metal plan customers  

cash back on card payments is another benefit they  offer at a rate of 0.1 for card payments within  

europe and a rate of 1 for car payments outside  of europe however this benefit is only exclusive  

to the metal plan customers with the premium plan  you get access to one free international transfer  

per month and with the metal plan you actually  get access to three other everyday features for  

all of their plans include free car delivery 24  7 priority customer support which the three plan  

members don't get revolut junior accounts for up  to two children with the plus and premium accounts  

and up to five children with a metal plan and  all three plans have access to exclusive features  

on the junior accounts including a co-parenting  feature as well as goal and task setting features  

the everyday protection benefits seems to be  the one that revolut show off the most on their  

website and use as the main selling point  so let's take a look at what it's all about  

purchase protection covers all of your  purchases from theft or accidental damage  

up to one year from the date of purchase on the  revolut plus this has a limit of one thousand  

pounds per year on the revolut premium this limit  is two and a half thousand pounds per year whereas  

on the revolut metal plan this limit is ten  thousand pounds per year the only point of course  

not added with this is that i personally have had  a similar type of insurance through another bank  

and when it came to me trying to make a claim  they say that the damage falls out of the scope of  

accidental damage and they refuse to pay me out  so if you're making a purchase through revolut  

hoping that this item is covered by the insurance  it's important to check out the terms conditions  

just to make sure you know what falls within the  scope of protection ticket protection is offered  

across all three plans and offers refunds  of up to one thousand pounds if and i quote  

something unexpected happens outside of your  control that means you can't attend the event  

returns protection again available across all  three plans offers you a refund up to 90 days  

after the purchase on items between the value of  50 and 300 pounds if the retailer won't take the  

item back this again sounds like a great feature  but i have to ask how are you able to prove that  

the retailer won't take it back because i'm pretty  sure they won't give you a note confirming that  

they're refusing to take it back and also the  fact that it's between 50 and 300 pounds is a  

very specific amount it means that most everyday  purchases that are below 50 pounds are not covered  

and any expensive items like phones laptops  cameras tablets none of them will actually be  

covered because they cost too much that's why for  bigger purchasers like them i'd always recommend  

buying them using a credit card that's assuming  you actually have the money available to pay the  

balance off straight away the reason i recommend a  credit card rather than just a standard debit card  

to make the purchase is because under section  75 of the consumer credit act the credit card  

company is jointly liable or just as responsible  as the retailer for the goods or services that  

are provided so if you have any trouble with the  retailer refusing to retain and refund your item  

you can put a claim in directly through the  credit card provider to get your money back  

safe for online shopping is one of the benefits  that i actually really like because it uses in my  

opinion what are one of revolut's best features  and that's the virtual disposable cards these  

are one-time use cards with details that you  can use for online shopping or making payments  

and when you've used them then details are no  longer linked to your account so if you manage  

to fall victim to a hacker or some online fraud  those call details they'll get will be useless as  

they're not linked back to your accounts with  the plus plan you get access to one virtual  

disposable card whereas with the premium and metal  plans you get unlimited virtual disposable cards  

these benefits are people looking to make use of  the savings or investment features that revolut  

has to offer crypto withdrawals a transaction  that allow you to move your cryptocurrency balance  

to another external crypto wallet that you  control with all the news around banks blocking  

cryptocurrency at the moment this is a great  feature which is only available on the metal plan  

you can also end daily interest on your savings at  a rate of 0.4 on the plus plan 0.5 on the premium  

plan and 0.65 on the metal plan now these savings  rates they do offer as benefits but realistically  

they're not that great at all even with  interest rates as low as they are at the moment  

you could still get almost double the amount that  you get through revolut in a free savings accounts  

elsewhere and what makes the revolut savings even  less of a benefit is that you don't end interest  

on money in your main balance in order to earn  the interest you need to transfer it to another  

account known as a savings vault the investment  benefits also offer reduced cryptocurrency  

and commodities exchange markups this is great  for anyone who is looking to use the investment  

features in revolut with the past year and a half  that we've all had many of us stuck in our homes  

for the majority of that time i'm sure that one  of the first things many of us are looking to do  

when things open back up is to go travelling  the travel benefits on revolut include  

international spending enabled across all three  paid plans and no fee currency exchange in 30  

different currencies this has a 1 000 per month  limit on the plus plan but is unlimited on a  

premium and metal plants it's important to note  though that these no fees is for between monday  

to friday so anything over the weekend will be  charged a fee the premium and metal plans have  

some extra travel benefits including overseas  medical insurance delayed baggage and flight  

insurance and free lounge access with smart delay  for flights that are delayed more than one hour  

and that's for you and one friend with the premium  plan and you plus up to three friends with the  

metal plan the metal plan also covers the car hire  excess for up to 31 days of your travels so who  

are the revolut pay plans for and who are they not  for they potentially for someone who has children  

you can make use of the junior accounts  and all of the features they have to offer  

people who like to travel a lot or people who like  to make regular large purchases but don't have  

access to a credit card to get the protection that  they offer or it could just be someone who rarely  

found value in the customized or metal cards the  pay plans however are not for someone like me i  

personally don't care about the customizable cards  and i definitely don't want to be charged for atm  

withdrawals taking out my own money after a  certain limit i've got a free card both with  

monzo and starling who don't have atm withdrawal  limits and could both be used for spending abroad  

i don't have any children so the junior account  features are of no use at all to me and at the  

time of recording was still in a national lockdown  so i've got no travel plans at the moment to make  

use of the travel benefits the returns protection  seems to be a big feature that revolut highlights  

but you can get better protection by using  literally any credit card in the uk to find out
