here's what he testified to today this

is Bill Taylor I have dedicated my life

to serving US interests at home and
[15]
abroad in both military and civilian

roles my background and experience are

non partisan and I've been honored to
[21]
serve under every administration
[23]
Republican and Democratic since 1985 for
[27]
50 years I served the country starting
[29]
as a cadet at West Point then as an
[32]
infantry officer for six years including
[34]
with the hundred and first Airborne
[35]
Division in Vietnam then at the
[37]
Department of Energy then as a member of
[39]
a Senate staff then at NATO then with
[41]
the State Department here and abroad in
[43]
Afghanistan Iraq Jerusalem and Ukraine
[46]
so Republicans today know Conte I'll
[50]
have to decide if that man is lying when
[53]
he says that aid military aid for
[56]
Ukraine was tied to investigation into
[58]
the Biden's exactly Nicole so I think
[62]
we've heard from other folks in the past
[64]
rappelled prominent Republicans you know
[66]
warning alarms what makes this different
[68]
is two things number one I've read that
[70]
testimony the 15 page statement it is
[72]
incredibly detailed and intricate and
[75]
number two he has specifically access he
[79]
talks about a conversation which I just
[81]
put up on my Twitter a conversation that
[83]
he had with ambassador Sandland and
[85]
which Sandlin tells him directly
[87]
president from wants the aid conditioned
[90]
from Ukraine on investigating the
[93]
Biden's and that's in that's in what he
[95]
said today so you know you can discount
[97]
all sorts of other things that people
[99]
say for all sorts of political reasons
[101]
he's got access to what actually
[104]
happened and he has detailed notes to
[105]
prove it so I think this is going to
[107]
prove to be a very very devastating day
[110]
for president Truong Frankfurt Guzzi we

spent 23 months trying to deduce what
[114]
sort of evidence Robert Muller had tying
[117]
Donald Trump to the Russian conspiracy
[119]
to impact the 2016 election it would
[121]
seem the effort to get Ukraine to impact
[124]
the 2020 election the evidence is now

spilling out in a very very public
[129]
setting we've known for a long
[133]
time that the greatest enemies of this
[135]
president are the truth the details and
[137]
the facts and today we've got plenty of
[141]
truth details and facts and for those
[144]
people who might try to say that
[146]
ambassador Taylor is part of some deep
[149]
state you don't need to just read his
[151]
bio you need to understand that witness
[154]
after witness are actually people who
[157]
comprise the state they are the deep
[159]
state they are the state they are the
[161]
embodiment of the values and principles
[164]
of our government and in fact the
[166]
president was crying - trying to create
[169]
the deep state and one of the things
[171]
that jumps out at me is the public
[173]
nature of what the president was
[175]
demanding meaning what we're seeing in
[177]
the testimony is that the Ukrainians had
[180]
to come out publicly and say we're going
[182]
to investigate for yzma we're
[184]
investigating the Biden's if you're
[187]
really about anti-corruption if that's
[189]
what you're about you know the president
[191]
doesn't need that public declaration he
[194]
needs Ukraine to quietly go about their
[195]
business getting rid of corruption he
[198]
was clearly looking for a public bashing
[200]
of the Biden's and just to put a button
[203]
on that Frank what what Taylor testified

to was that song Lynn said President

Trump wanted president zalanski quote in

a public box by making a public
[212]
statement about ordering such
[214]
investigations don't take my word for it

though let's bring in Democratic

congressman and 11 who earlier in the

day described today's testimony as quote

very troubling and said that this has

been his most disturbing day in Congress

so far take us through what was so

disturbing to you that you heard today

hey Nicole well I just want to emphasize

how impatient ISM sort of swells up when
[242]
I meet one after another of these career
[246]
foreign service who don't it's so
[249]
obvious they don't care about Democrats
[251]
they don't care about Republicans they
[253]
are out there around the globe defending
[256]
the national security of the United
[258]
States and to have the president himself
[262]
say that he is going to put the muscle
[265]
on a foreign leader
[267]
to help him in his domestic political
[269]
you know problems and then to have his
[272]
acting chief of staff admit it before he
[275]
walked it back on national TV what was
[278]
so disturbing today is just the weight
[282]
of evidence is so overwhelming that it's
[287]
a it's a sad day for any patriot to have
[289]
a president doing this and anybody who
[293]
cares about the national security of our
[295]
country and you know Nicole let me say I
[297]
represent war in Michigan
[299]
I represent Sterling Heights Michigan we
[301]
have a lot of Ukrainian Americans in my
[303]
district who are patriotic Americans who
[306]
love our country and love their homeland
[308]
and so the security of Ukraine the
[311]
budding democracy in Ukraine is a really
[314]
important issue to me and to see a
[317]
president just put our vital interests
[320]
like that at risk for his own political
[324]
ends is something that we just can't
[327]
stand for as Americans congressman is it
[330]
as clear as what we've described that
[332]
ambassador Bill Taylor believes that
[334]
military aid for American ally Ukraine
[337]
who is as you just described our buffer
[341]
our democratic Ally there in Russia's
[344]
neighborhood that he testified today
[346]
that military aid for that country was
[348]
tied to a public commitment to
[350]
investigate Purisima you know I
[354]
apologized Nicole I know I heard just
[356]
now you know while I was listening that
[358]
you all evidently have this testimony I
[361]
apologize I'm not going to talk about
[362]
what he said at all I really respect
[365]
this process what I can tell you is that
[370]
the it's the case is overwhelming and it
[375]
really it really ratifies the process
[379]
we're going through very soberly having
[383]
witness after witness come in and build
[385]
the fact case about what actually
[387]
transpired and as other people have said
[392]
there were a you know a tremendous
[395]
number of well documented facts that
[396]
came out and so it's just troubling the
[399]
way this
[400]
is building and of what I'd say to the
[403]
American people is that if they want a
[406]
picture of it here's the picture you've
[408]
got a very crowded room of Democrats and
[412]
Republicans sitting around a table both
[414]
sides having all the time they need to
[416]
ask whatever questions they want and
[419]
having a witness who has devoted his
[422]
life to service of our country in
[424]
Vietnam in the State Department in so
[427]
many countries and we've had a series of
[431]
these witnesses and we need to have more
[433]
come to fill out this picture the most
[436]
important thing for us to do is to get
[440]
all the facts on the table no person is
[444]
above the law
[444]
including Donald Trump and we need to
[448]
establish all the facts to decide with
[451]
how best to proceed to hold him
[452]
accountable and that's what's happening
[454]
and the reason that it was so troubling
[457]
to me is just how overwhelming this case
[460]
is that's being built up brick by brick
[463]
congressman my last question is about
[465]
what you just referenced this case being
[467]
built brick by brick it would appear
[469]
that the public is traveling brick by
[471]
brick with you with public support for
[473]
the impeachment and removal of Donald
[476]
Trump representing a majority of
[478]
Americans is there any single witness
[481]
who was offered a single example of the
[485]
fact pattern not being what we
[487]
understand it to be and without
[488]
disclosing what you heard today we know
[491]
from sources familiar or Fiona Hills
[492]
testimony we know from sources familiar
[495]
with Kurt Volkers testimony emails that
[497]
that were released after that that every
[500]
single witness has offered a brick to
[502]
use your word in the simple story you
[504]
described that Donald Trump conditioned
[506]
military aid in a White House meeting on
[508]
the Ukrainians committing to delivering
[510]
dirt on the Biden's you know Nicole I
[514]
don't I don't really think where public
[520]
opinion is or following polls is the way
[522]
to look at this I feel like I took an
[526]
oath I mean I I took an oath to uphold
[527]
the Constitution of the United States
[529]
and whatever the president says
[532]
the emoluments cause is in three parts
[535]
of the Constitution the Constitution is
[538]
a real document that we have to uphold
[540]
and it doesn't allow a president to
[545]
abuse power it doesn't allow a president
[548]
to go ahead and put national security at
[553]
risk for his own political ends and so
[555]
forth and so what we're trying to do is
[560]
just learn as we go have people who
[564]
really have first-hand knowledge of what
[566]
happened come in and tell us about it
[569]
and one thing I can commit to you is
[571]
that in the end all of these all of this
[575]
will become public that's what you know
[577]
with appropriate with as appropriate but
[580]
we're gonna do this in a way that
[583]
protects the national security of the
[585]
United States and we're not going to put
[587]
it at risk by having some dog and pony
[590]
show this is serious business and we're
[592]
trying to do it as best we can
[594]
