because weekends are just too short! Here are the top six answers to the most popular

questions people have about these small campers. Let's get started with question

number one. What is a teardrop camper?A teardrop camper also known as a teardrop

trailer is a streamlined compact lightweight travel trailer. And today

they come in all different sizes and have different amenities as you're about

to see. But they all have one thing in common and that is their curved teardrop

shaped profile. A teardrop camper has a raindrop shaped

exterior which makes it more aerodynamic so it can be pulled by a smaller vehicle.

I learned that teardrop campers were products of the Great Depression and the

first known specification for a teardrop shaped trailer was printed in a 1936

issue of Outdoor Life Magazine and the building plans cost 50 cents. Classic

teardrop trailers were designed to be the simplest form of camping after the

sleeping bag and tent. They are spacious enough to usually sleep two comfortably

and they typically have two side doors and a rear hatch that opens to reveal a

camp kitchen or pantry. Like all RVs classic teardrop trailers can range from

very basic to luxury high-end campers. Teardrop campus like the myPod made by

Xtreme Outdoors looks small, right? Well it's fascinating what amenities can be

packed in such tiny spaces. This trailer has a sleeping area for two, air

conditioning and an entertainment center. My camper the Little Guy Trailer is not

a classical teardrop due to its 18-foot length and

you can stand up in it. It's amazing what can be fitted in a teardrop camper of

this size. This trailer features a full queen-size bed a kitchen with a sink,

stove, refrigerator and microwave, air conditioning, heating plus a bathroom. I

from 600 pounds all the way up to over 3000 pounds.

For example, the myPod has a dry weight of 630 pounds and my Little Guy Max

trailer has a dry weight of 3140 pounds. One of the biggest advantages of

these light weight trailers is they are easier to tow than larger RVs which

leads into the next question. What can pull a teardrop trailer?Classic teardrop

trailers can usually be pulled by SUVs and some cars. Heavier teardrop trailers

will require a vehicle with greater towing capacity but all trailers must be

pulled by a vehicle that has the power and safety items necessary to tow it.

is the price of a teardrop camper? Pricing can vary greatly ranging from

$4000 all the way up to the mid $30K depending on length amenities and of

course quality. With that said teardrop campers usually cost much less than

other travel trailers or RVs. And this is probably the biggest question of all. Are

teardrop trailers worth it? My answer is YES especially if you have

a yearning to go to remote places and explore the outdoors like I do. If you
