So let me tell you'll a story, there were two聽
friends, Yash and Devanshi, both had a job聽聽

interview in one of the big four. Now with respect聽
to Yash and Devanshi, both had the same kind of聽聽

background, both were the same age both, both聽
had just finished their graduation, they were 21.聽聽

Yash was from a college called HR. Devanshi, she聽
was from NM. Both are considered approximately聽聽
[22]
the number one colleges for bombay. Yash had done聽
B.com, Devanshi had done BAF. BAF for those who聽聽

don't know is B.com in accounting and finance,聽
it's very similar to B.com. So if you think聽聽
[32]
about it from the big four's perspective, both聽
of these candidates were the same, same age, same聽聽
[37]
educational background. So they both got hired,聽
but Yash had also pursued ACCA along with his聽聽
[45]
B.com. So when they both got hired Devanshi, she聽
was hired at a position called an Analyst which聽聽
[51]
is what a normal graduate gets hired at. Yash was聽
hired at two designations above her at a position聽聽
[57]
called an Associate. Associate is what normal聽
Chartered Accountants are hired at. Now just聽聽

to bridge this gap, Devanshi would take close to聽
four years of promotions to get to where Yash was.聽聽

Second, Devanshi's salary package a few years聽
ago at the graduate level started with two lakhs聽聽

and Yash's started with seven. So that's the聽
difference that studying something along with聽聽

your graduation can make it. That's the kind of聽
difference with respect to your career launch. So聽聽

So the first question is what is ACCA? For those聽
who don't know, the full form is Association of聽聽
[122]
Chartered Certified Accountants. Think of ACCA as聽
global CA. When I say global right it's literally聽聽
[130]
applicable across the globe, across the world in聽
180 countries and when I say CA, what I mean is,聽聽
[138]
technically if you are a CA and I'm an ACCA, we聽
would have both been on the same level. So ACCA聽聽
[144]
means global CA, now are you eligible for it, the聽
the best part about ACCA that we've seen, is that聽聽
[152]
it's one of the only professional qualifications,聽
global professional qualifications, which allow聽聽
[157]
students as soon as they're out of grade 10 to聽
start appearing for the exam. We have close to聽聽
[163]
15 percent of our students over here who are聽
either in grade 11 or grade 12 pursuing ACCA聽聽
[169]
and that number is just growing. So whether you聽
are you must have just given your 12th, maybe聽聽
[175]
you're a graduate, maybe you're a CA, doesn't聽
matter as long as you are, you've completed聽聽
[180]
your class 10 you are eligible for ACCA. In fact,聽
the youngest ACCA in the world completed all 13聽聽
[188]
papers by the age of 18 which means he was just,聽
he must have started around 16-16 and a half,聽聽
[195]
being eligible for ACCA, completed it in 18 months聽
and by the age of 18 became the youngest ACCA聽聽
[201]
in the world. He is Indian born, based out of聽
Dubai. So now that you have some sense of what聽聽
[208]
ACCA is and whether you're eligible or not, now聽
I'm going to get into the actual studying aspect,聽聽
[213]
what it takes to complete and pass ACCA?聽
First of all, ACCA has a total of 13 exams,聽聽
[220]
these 13 papers are split into three levels, the聽
levels being knowledge, skill and professional.聽聽
[227]
On an average you give these exams once every聽
three months, so the exams are on an average聽聽
[232]
held quarterly. So if you have to start ACCA聽
from the beginning, it would take you close to聽聽
[239]
two-two and a half- three years to complete entire聽
ACCA. Now, with respect to the exam structure,聽聽
[247]
like I said, there were three levels, knowledge,聽
skill and professional. The knowledge level exams,聽聽
[253]
basically I'm referring to the first four exams,聽
the first four exams are called on-demand exams,聽聽
[258]
by on demand I mean, let's say you聽
start preparing for the first paper,聽聽
[262]
it takes you on an average two months聽
to prepare for the first paper,聽聽
[266]
after completing it, you study, you're ready聽
to appear for the paper you call up a licensed聽聽
[271]
exam center and say, Okay I want to give聽
an exam. The license exam center tells you,聽聽
[275]
No problem, come on Monday, come at 10am,聽
you come give the exam. Two hours, only MCQs,聽聽
[281]
no negative marking, clear the paper and you move聽
on to the next paper. The fact that you can give聽聽
[286]
the exam any time in the 365 days of the year is聽
what makes these first four exams on-demand exams.聽聽

After the first four exams, the balance exams聽
you have to give every March, June, September聽聽
[299]
and December. So I mean to say, the exams are held聽
every quarter and you have the option of appearing聽聽
[304]
for one paper at a time, two, three or four papers聽
depending on your time availability and the speed聽聽
[311]
at which you want to progress. Next, the passing聽
rate of ACCA. We've had a lot of people asking聽聽
[317]
us about this, so it on an average, across聽
the world if I take, over the last 10 years,聽聽
[322]
the passing rate of ACCA has been close to 40%.聽
Which means out of 10 students who appear for聽聽
[328]
each exam, four of them clear. When you compare聽
it to some other examinations which you might have聽聽
[335]
heard about, been aware about, passing rate聽
is ideally much lower than 40%. So that's a聽聽
[339]
really really good number and good metric to take聽
a decision on, if you would like to take ACCA up.聽聽
[346]
Lastly, I said there were 13 papers but 13 papers聽
are only applicable to you if you've either just聽聽
[352]
given your grade 10 or grade 12. Above that,聽
if you are either a graduate or either you聽聽
[359]
must have let's say completed either your MBA or聽
your chartered accountancy. When you start ACCA聽聽
[364]
you do not have to start from the first paper,聽
you are then entitled to certain exemptions.聽聽
[369]
So the more exemptions you are entitled to, the聽
lesser will be the overall duration and the lesser聽聽
[374]
is the overall number of papers you will be聽
giving. We have an entire different video which聽聽

that you might be eligible for with ACCA,聽聽

So to summarize the studying aspect,聽聽

13 papers on an average given every three months聽
takes you around to two and a half to three years聽聽
[394]
to complete your entire ACCA. Now, just like聽
any other qualification, any other professional聽聽
[399]
qualification, studying only the papers is not the聽
solution. Every organization requires its members聽聽
[406]
to display that they not only have theoretical聽
but also practical knowledge, just like CAs have聽聽
[411]
articleship and CFAs have charterholders. ACCAs聽
also require something beyond the 13 exams, the聽聽
[419]
something beyond is called, Practical Experience聽
Requirement. PER. And the PER essentially聽聽
[426]
comprises of your three years of work experience.聽
Now the PER has a couple of other legs to it聽聽
[432]
but I'm not getting into much detail, we have聽
another video explaining PER in depth so please聽聽
[438]
do check it out, but once you finish all the 13聽
papers of ACCA, without PER, only papers, you聽聽
[444]
are known as an ACCA affiliate. When you combine聽
that with the practical experience requirement,聽聽
[451]
you become an ACCA member. Now, the most commonly聽
asked question by students and especially parents,聽聽
[458]
What is the future of me or my child, if I study聽
ACCA? So, I'm going to split this into two parts,聽聽
[465]
one, What is the scope of ACCA in India? And聽
two, What is the scope of ACCA overseas? So,聽聽
[470]
when it comes to India, first of all, the scope聽
in India has been increasing tremendously over聽聽
[477]
the last almost decade. So there'll be a lot聽
of people who have not ideally heard about it,聽聽
[483]
but the companies and the people who are hiring聽
ACCAs have all been aware about it since a long聽聽
[488]
time. So what kind of companies hire, as you聽
must be knowing right, the companies such as聽聽
[493]
big four which are KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, EY, after聽
that other big accounting and finance companies,聽聽
[500]
Grant Thornton, BDO, these are just the the聽
biggest accounting companies in India, Bombay,聽聽
[506]
Delhi, Bangalore, other metros which are hiring聽
ACCAs, they hire ACCAs in almost all the domains聽聽
[513]
that a CA gets hired in, except for Indian tax or聽
Indian law. So whether it is accounting advisory,聽聽
[522]
in ACCA the accounting you learn for some of you聽
who don't understand, is International Accounting聽聽
[526]
Standards called IFRS. IFRS is sort of newly聽
adopted in India, under the head of IndAS. So聽聽
[535]
whether it's accounting advisory,聽
mergers and acquisitions, valuations,聽聽
[539]
risk advisory, forensic auditing, statutory audit.聽
These are the kind of domains that ACCAs in India,聽聽
[545]
we know our team, our faculties are getting聽
hired at. Lastly, the designation, the profile,聽聽
[551]
the salary package is all commensurating聽
with what CAs ideally get in India.聽聽

So when somebody is thinking about the scope of聽
ACCA in India, as long as you know the right kind聽聽
[562]
of people who are hiring and the right domains to聽
get into, ACCA has almost the same level of scope聽聽
[568]
as that of CAs. This is what happens with ACCA聽
in India. Now coming to ACCA overseas, when you,聽聽
[576]
okay, from all the students that we ideally聽
have, most popular countries that students聽聽
[582]
want to reach are countries such as UK,聽
Canada, Australia, Singapore or Dubai.聽聽

Like I said ACCA is actually applicable across聽
180 countries but these are the more popular聽聽
[592]
ones that students end up wanting to go to.聽
We have had students who've gone to Canada,聽聽

who've gone to Australia as well as Dubai from our聽
institute, because they've been able to get a job聽聽

in these countries while studying ACCA in India.聽
So there is tremendous scope. ACCA has an official聽聽

job portal called accacareers.com which actually聽
displays a list of what jobs are available聽聽
[618]
in individual cities in these different-different聽
countries that you can apply from sitting here,聽聽
[623]
so again the scope of ACCA is literally聽
widespread globally. Now the second most聽聽
[631]
common question after what kind of salary and聽
what kind of scope is available with ACCA,聽聽
[636]
the second most commonly asked question is, How聽
much does ACCA cost? What are the overall fees? So聽聽
[643]
let me try and make it as simple for you guys as聽
possible right, if you start from the first paper聽聽
[648]
till the end, the total fees will be聽
around three and a half to four lakhs,聽聽
[654]
this will be spread out over the entire聽
duration so if I take an average,聽聽
[658]
students take two and a half to three years to聽
complete so imagine you will have to shell out聽聽
[663]
four lakhs over three years on an average. Now if聽
you have exemptions like I had earlier explained,聽聽
[670]
you'll have probably skipped let's say one level聽
maybe so that means you have to give lesser papers聽聽
[675]
and automatically your fees will reduce. Now let聽
me also tell you all, what this three and a half聽聽
[679]
to four lakh comprises of. The fees I can split it聽
into a few components right, Number one you have聽聽
[686]
to pay exam fees to ACCA every time you appear聽
for an exam, the exam fees on average is around聽聽
[691]
10000 rupees per exam. Second, registration and聽
subscription. Now registration is a one-time fee,聽聽
[698]
subscription fees are something you pay annually聽
whether you're a student or eventually when you聽聽
[702]
become a member. Third, study material you聽
have to purchase. Fourth training fees which聽聽
[707]
you will have to pay and fifth anything over and聽
above ACCA, which you have to pay the ACCA body聽聽
[713]
that might come across over your entire聽
span of study. So as a summary once again,聽聽
[719]
to do the entire course it is around three聽
and a half to four lakhs. Now if this amount聽聽
[723]
is something that is comfortable to you聽
spread out over such a period of time,聽聽
[727]
ACCA is one of the greatest courses that have聽
been available in India today in the field of聽聽
[733]
finance. Something which is easy to start, barely聽
any barriers to entry to begin it, it's relatively聽聽
[740]
more flexible than other courses to complete, it's聽
global in nature, the opportunities not only are聽聽
[746]
in India but even other countries and not only聽
that, you begin, you gain a little experience and聽聽
[751]
you have the entire world to move forward. You can聽
continue in the field of finance and accounting,聽聽
[756]
in whatever profession you are in or like聽
