Yuji Is RELATED To Sukuna? - Jujutsu Kaisen Theory - YouTube
Channel: Definitely Azyn
[0]
With the arrival of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime,
we鈥檝e come across a fair bit of mysteries
[4]
and questions which we have for the series
and also for the very interesting characters.
[9]
One of the biggest mysteries would have to
be the death of Yuji鈥檚 grandfather which
[12]
we were shown to in the very first episode
of the Anime. One of the things which really
[15]
stuck to me was his grandfather's last words
to Yuji when he had told him to stop acting
[19]
cool and to die surrounded by people. This
saying will come in handy throughout this
[23]
theory, but this is a bizarre one and not
many people are fans of this particular theory
[27]
however it鈥檚 based around the off chance
that Yuji could be related to Sukuna. Now
[31]
i鈥檓 just speculating here and from my previous
theories on My Hero Academia, it鈥檇 be cool
[35]
to give it a shot on Jujutsu Kaisen.
[37]

Yuji is related to Sukuna, be sure to subscribe

[47]
This video will contain spoilers from the
manga.
[50]
This video will actually consist of a really
intricate theory from a reddit user a year
[54]
ago and another theory which will be solely
mine, but even this far into the series we
[58]
are yet to understand what Sukuna truly is.
His presence in Jujutsu Kaisen has been immense
[63]
so far and we got to see glimpses of what
he is truly capable of. He is indeed a very
[67]
powerful character, but why is it that Yuji
out of all people was able to consume the
[70]
cursed finger and manage to suppress Sukuna
at certain times. Well without further ado
[75]
let鈥檚 find out if Yuji could be related
to the king of curses.
[85]
To kick things off from this theory, is of
course getting to know Yuji鈥檚 grandfather
[88]
a bit better, since I feel like his participation
in Jujutsu Kaisen is much bigger than we thought.
[94]
Yuji鈥檚 grandfather went by the name of Wasuke
Itadori, having similar facial features to
[98]
Yuji. As for the character of Wasuke is that
he was very caring for Yuji, but he was very
[103]
stubborn getting mad at Yuji for visiting
him everyday and for bringing him flowers,
[107]
since he felt like a burden to him however
just like his grandfather, Yuji was selfless
[111]
and cared for him dearly. The only information
we get on Wasuke Itadori is just him being
[116]
bedridden and telling Yuji to die surrounded
by people and not like him. The mystery behind
[120]
Yuji鈥檚 grandfather is very suspicious, I
feel as though Akutami wouldn鈥檛 just introduce
[124]
Wasuke just for plot convenience but instead
is foreshadowing something major here, obviously
[129]
it鈥檚 not something we need to look too much
into but for Yuji鈥檚 grandfather to say to
[132]
die surrounded by people, there is definitely
something in which has happened to him during
[136]
his lifetime. Yuji barely knew the concept
of sorcerers before even meeting Fushiguro
[140]
but he had immense strength enough to weaken
a cursed spirit. This abnormal physical strength
[144]
is something just as suspicious as Yuji鈥檚
grandfather, because in reality there is no
[148]
way a normal human can possess that much strength.
Just how cursed techniques are implemented
[153]
at birth just how Gojo had mentioned, Yuji
may have been born with an unknown cursed
[157]
technique, which could be so disastrous that
Yuji鈥檚 grandfather never mentioned it to
[161]
him in order to protect Yuji from following
in the same path as him.
[164]
With Sukuna鈥檚 introduction in Jujutsu Kaisen,
it was a complete gamechanger to the life
[168]
of Yuji. Since Yuji felt as though being a
sacrificial lamb would benefit others but
[172]
realises he must protect himself and others
to confirm victory. Ryomen Sukuna is known
[177]
as the King of Curses who was known to have
been defeated over a thousand years ago to
[181]
the golden age of Shamans, but the best they
could do was separate Sukuna into 20 different
[185]
cursed fingers, as he was that powerful he
couldn鈥檛 be completely killed off. However,
[189]
Sukuna wasn鈥檛 always the king of curses,
since it was mentioned that Sukuna was indeed
[193]
a human before becoming this special grade
cursed spirit, as what he was like as a human
[197]
has not been revealed yet.
[198]
Anyways on to this very interesting theory
which I came across on reddit which is very
[202]
plausible and could actually play a part in
the actual storyline of Jujutsu Kaisen. This
[207]
theory comes from Quillshot7, if you guys
would like to read through this theory be
[211]
sure to check the link in the description.
Anyways this theory kicks off with, So I've
[215]
been thinking about who Sukuna could possibly
be, as well as Yuji. It might seem like a
[219]
stretch at first, but I think that Yuji and
Sukuna are actually one and the same. I'm
[223]
not usually a fan of this trope, but to me
it seems like Yuji could be a reincarnation
[227]
of Sukuna. Quite a bit of this will be just
hypothesizing, but to me, that's honestly
[230]
half the fun of theorizing.
[231]
First off, we have 20 pieces of Sukuna laying
around out there. From what I understand,
[234]
they are essentially high concentrations of
negativity that are used as cursed charms,
[238]
but are slowly ramping up in power, which
leads to them attracting curses instead of
[242]
repelling them. We know that some of the pieces
have been consumed by different curses, but
[247]
it appears that they were just consumed as
power boosts (You have the high-grade cursed
[250]
spirit in the Cursed Womb arc that had absorbed
a finger of Sukuna, which is probably why
[254]
it became so powerful in the first place.
For all we know, that finger might have been
[258]
placed there as bait by some of the elder
shamans, with some perfect timing when all
[262]
the high and first-grade shamans would be
busy, forcing Yuji to be placed in danger
[266]
and likely killed off versus a high-grade
cursed spirit.). And according to Gojou, several
[270]
other spirits have also consumed the fingers.
None of these spirits seem to be under the
[273]
control of a fragment of Sukuna's soul, and
are using it as a form of battery. But as
[278]
soon as Yuji eats a finger, he immediately
gets bodyjacked by Sukuna, when it's a million
[282]
to one chance he just keels over and dies?
Yet Sukuna didn't manage to bodyjack any of
[287]
the curses that ate one of his fingers, and
not only that, buffs the curses that eat him?
[291]
It seems awfully suspicious to me.
[292]
So for the next part of the theory, we have
the territory that Yuji got dragged into after
[297]
his "death". There's a few things that are
suspicious throughout this whole encounter,
[300]
including something that was brought up in
a recent chapter. First off, the contract.
[305]
According to Getou, Binding Contracts are
something that must be done with yourself.
[309]
While it might be possible that Sukuna was
able to do one with Yuji because they share
[312]
the same body, it is another odd coincidence.
Also, I thought of an interesting question.
[317]
If they have two seperate souls, wouldn't
it be possible for Sukuna to allow Yuji's
[320]
soul to die, then take full control of the
body afterwards? However, if their souls were
[325]
starting to fuse together, it might mean that
if Yuji's soul dies, Sukuna would die as well.
[330]
That is the point of the series after all
- let Yuji eat 20 fingers, kill Yuji, thereby
[334]
killing Sukuna. This is also the first time
we get to see Sukuna's "soul". According to
[338]
Mahito, the shape of the body tightly conforms
to the shape of the soul. We essentially see
[343]
both Sukuna and Yuji with their souls manifested
as bodies within Sukuna's territory in order
[348]
to have a conversation. And frankly, Sukuna's
soul looks almost exactly like Yuji, minus
[352]
the old-school shaman robes and the tattoos.
Just another funny coincidence. Also, it is
[356]
a bit odd that Sukuna has such fine control
over souls, to where he can bring one out
[361]
of its body into a metaphysical territory,
interfering with the cycle of life and death.
[365]
It could basically mean the man is immortal.
[368]
How this could happen is a bit tricky. It
might be possible that the cursed charms are
[371]
what Sukuna left behind as pure negativity
after his final battle, and his leftover humanity
[376]
reincarnated. We do know that Sukuna was a
human approximately 1,000 years ago, but was
[380]
given his name posthumously. There might be
some bizarre coincidence where the memories
[384]
remain on the soul, and contact with the negativity
reawakened said memories as an alternate personality
[390]
that could be interacted with. Additionally,
we have yet another coincidence where Sukuna,
[395]
in the one silhouette we have of him, doesn't
look human at all. Looks like he absorbed
[398]
quite a few curses, almost as if it were one
of his powers. Who else but our lovable MC
[403]
managed to absorb one of the highest-tier
curses in the world just by eating it, and
[408]
grew two extra eyes immediately as a result?
This portion is honestly just pure hypothesizing,
[413]
we don't have enough information on the story's
mechanics yet to come to a conclusion. There
[417]
is also the question on why Sukuna wouldn't
know, but that may be because of the pure
[421]
unlikeliness for something like this to happen,
leaving him stumped for a bit. Or it could
[425]
be a bit of willful ignorance. Another oddity
that I didn't know where to mention is that
[429]
Yuji is stronger than top-tier Olympic athletes
as a teenager, pre-curse.
[434]
The intensity of Sukuna鈥檚 character is very
vast, but for him to either be related to
[438]
Yuji or being one of the same it really does
make us think. Yuji鈥檚 body from the get
[442]
go was special, making us believe that he鈥檚
just some mere human but in actual fact there
[447]
is much more to him. For example if we take
Choso鈥檚 case, he is a hybrid between cursed
[452]
spirit and a human. So if we understand this
scenario, what if the same could apply to
[456]
Yuji. If Yuji is related to Sukuna, then we鈥檇
understand the reason behind his immense natural
[460]
strength, but we still are yet to be revealed
to Sukuna鈥檚 other cursed techniques. When
[464]
Gojo had mentioned to Yuji that cursed techniques
have to be embedded from birth and that Yuji
[468]
doesn鈥檛 have one, but I have this great
feeling that Yuji does indeed have a cursed
[472]
technique which even he doesn鈥檛 know about.
So for Yuji being related to Sukuna in some
[476]
sense could be plausible, the appearance in
which we tend to see Sukuna in the flashbacks
[481]
are in the form of Yuji but I鈥檓 not going
to say it鈥檚 all about that. As for Sukuna鈥檚
[485]
real appearance we are yet to see what it鈥檚
like other than him having multiple arms and
[489]
legs. Yuji and Sukuna are both very intricate
characters in their own respect as much of
[494]
a cliche set up this seems like, I really
wouldn鈥檛 mind if this happened and we get
[497]
to understand more behind Yuji and Sukuna鈥檚
mysterious past.
[501]
Anyways this video was an idea I had for a
while ever since I had stumbled upon the theory
[505]
on reddit, be sure to check that out if you鈥檇
like to know more the link is in the description
[508]
below. But are you guys fans of this theory,
Yuji possibly being related to Sukuna. I鈥檓
[513]
still on the fence but I鈥檓 always open to
these kinds of things. Sukuna & Yuji being
[516]
one of the same or related will have a massive
impact in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Anyways
