For any week that you wish to claim
benefits for unemployment insurance you

must go online to www.iowaworkforcedevelopment.gov
and file a weekly

continued claim for benefits once you
are in the website this is the main page

you would need to click on individual
and then file unemployment and under the

weekly claims you would click on file
weekly claim this is after you have

filled out the initial claim application
you would begin your first weekly claim

the Sunday after you have filed your
initial claim application scroll down to

about the middle of the page where it
talks about file a weekly claim so most

claimants can receive unemployment
insurance benefits for up to 26 weeks

and in some cases 39 weeks to receive
payments after filing for UI benefits a

claimant must confirm eligibility every
week using the claims reporting system

each week that the weekly claim is filed
the claimant will be asked to certify

the following are you unemployed or
working only reduced hours are you able

and available for work have you refused
any job offers or referrals are you

actively seeking work unless your waive
search your work search is waived are

you reporting any pension that you may
be receiving are you reporting any gross

wages vacation or PTO severance and/or
holiday pay that you may be receiving

file your weekly claim on Sundays from 8

a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Monday through
Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

to provide a copy of requested that's

only if you are required to do work
