Warren Buffet's Advice for Young People Who
Want to Be Rich
[11]
One day when I was in college, I went to a
particular place to study and when I was going,
[19]
I saw this group of about 4 guys arguing.
[22]
I think they were arguing football.
[23]
I passed them by and spent about one and a
half hours where I went to study.
[29]
I really enjoyed my studies as I learned new
things I never knew before.
[34]
However, while coming back; I met the same
guys at the exact spot where I left them.
[40]
It was still an argument about politics and
soccer.
[44]
Then, it occurred to me that at the same time
certain people spend to make progress is the
[49]
exact same time some other people waste on
little or useless things.
[55]
In this video, Iâll be sharing with you
one of the most valuable advice from Warrant
[59]
Buffet which I believe can help you to become
rich and successful in life.

[68]
videos like this.
[71]
Here is the thing.
[72]
Buffett is a cool, lovely old man.
[75]
He has spent a reasonable number of years
offering valuable advice for young people
[80]
and anyone who is willing to listen and I
think one of the most valuable advice Buffet
[85]
ever given is; âkeep control of your time,
and you canât unless you say NO.â
[92]
Itâs unfortunate but true.
[95]
Most of us own our lives, but weâre not
in control.
[99]
Other people come into our lives with their
agenda and they bribe us to give up our own
[103]
time for their own purposes.
[106]
Some other times, our inability to say NO
make us sit down and joyfully waste time.
[113]
Time & Life
I consider myself very fortunate in life and
[118]
the reason why I think Iâm fortunate is
that very early in my life, Iâve discovered
[123]
that thereâs a very close relationship between
time and life.
[128]
When I was 12, I loved the TV, the soccer
and anything of such nature.
[133]
However when I was around 14, I read a book
that made me hate the TV and most things that
[139]
come with it, so I stopped watching the TV,
tried as much as I can to never waste time
[144]
with other peopleâs lives and to say NO
to as many things as possible.
[149]
Here is the thing; time is life and life is
time.
[154]
They both are inseparable.
[157]
Bruce Lee said, âIf you love life, don't
waste time, for time is what life is made
[162]
up ofâ
Remember my first story earlier in this video,
[167]
how I went to learn while some guys of my
age spent the same time arguing the life of
[171]
others.
[172]
This happens every minute of the day.
[175]
The very same time some people waste doing
little things is the same time others use
[180]
to learn or do things that matter
Keep control of your time, and you canât
[186]
unless you say no.
[189]
The 10,000 Hours Rule
Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book titled; Outliers
[197]
and in this book Gladwell shares his studies
about successful people and how long it took
[202]
them to achieve great success.
[204]
He then came to the conclusion that it takes
the average of 10,000 concentrated effort
[210]
to become great at anything.
[212]
A few people have disagreed with Gladwellâs
theory of 10,000 hours and thatâs fine.
[218]
It may not be 10,000 hours.
[221]
It may be 7,000 hours or even 5,000 hours.
[224]
What we can all agree on is that it does take
a whole lot of time to achieve anything worthwhile.
[231]
The problem about this is that, if you waste
time on little or useless things, youâve
[236]
got no 10,000 hours to invest in your music,
athletic or entrepreneurial dreams.
[242]
Robert Greene wrote a book called, âMasteryâ.
[246]
In this book, Mr. Robert told the stories
of great people in history and how they became
[251]
so great.
[253]
None of these people achieved meaningful success
with a half-hearted commitment.
[258]
Instead, people who achieved meaningful success
in life say NO to almost everything and concentrate
[266]
all their life on a few things that matter.
[268]
Your time is your life.
[271]
You have to master how to convert the time
you have to whatever other things you want
[276]
out of life.
[277]
You have to learn how to say NO.
[279]
No to most TV shows, NO to the unnecessary
argument, NO to many hours on social media,
[286]
NO to little talks and small dreams.
[289]
NO.
[290]
NO.
[291]
NO.
[292]
Keep control of your time, and you canât
unless you say no.
[297]
The Search for Pleasure
Over the years, I have heard people saying,
[301]
âAll work and no play makes Jack a dull
boy".
[305]
Now that Jack wants to play, an average American
now spends 11 hours each day consuming different
[312]
media.
[313]
And according to a study I read from Brian
Tracy, an average salesperson only has 90
[318]
minutes of productive activities per working
day.
[321]
You think about that.
[323]
Because all work and no play makes Jack a
dull boy, we now play all day, wasting 11
[330]
hours and investing just 3.
[333]
The reason is that weâre in search of pleasure.
[336]
And the reason why Jacks need 11 hours to
consume media is that Jacks donât have interesting
[342]
jobs.
[344]
If you donât want to be like those Jacks
who waste half a day on little things, try
[349]
and do what you care about.
[351]
People who love their jobs donât need 11
hours of media consumption.
[355]
They have a job that is fun so they donât
need much extra entertainment.
[363]
The Story of Michael Jackson
Many years ago, I read the story of Michael
[368]
Jackson.
[369]
I read that Jackson trained 8 hours every
day.
[373]
That was where the magic, the great dance,
the great music came from.
[378]
It was not just talent.
[380]
Talent isnât enough.
[382]
It was conscious, determined practice day
after day and you need a lot of time to do
[387]
that.
[388]
Look around you today and see those great
creations.
[391]
The wonderful inventions we enjoy today, the
great products, the great music, the life-changing
[398]
books, the innovative businesses.
[400]
They are all products of long hours of trial
and errors.
[406]
If you want to achieve greatness in life,
you have to concentrate your life on what
[410]
matters and say NO to almost everything else.
[414]
Keep control of your time, and you canât
unless you say no.
[420]
The Three Blessings of Life
Not all of us are lucky in life but most of
[427]
us are.
[428]
There are three blessings of life and if you
have any one of these you should not be poor
[433]
and those three gifts are; money, talent and
time.
[438]
If you have money, you can waste it and end
up poor.
[442]
But that shouldnât happen if youâre smart.
[444]
If you have talents, you can end your life
in poverty and failure.
[448]
But if youâre smart, you should be able
to use your talent to create wealth and success.
[454]
Now, what I hear most young people saying
is, âI donât have moneyâ.
[458]
Yes, that may be true.
[461]
Some other people may say, âI donât have
talentâ.
[464]
That may be fine too.
[465]
But do you have time?
[468]
You probably do.
[469]
If you have time, itâs as valuable as money
and talent put together because you can invest
[476]
that time.
[477]
You can acquire new profitable skills.
[479]
You can practice your skills.
[481]
You can pursue your dream.
[483]
You can fail and fail and try again.
[486]
You can turn your time to anything you want
in life.
[489]
But you have to learn how to say NO to many
time-wasting activities
[496]
Take Judicious Care Of Your Morning
Most people waste time and that wouldnât
[502]
have been a bad thing.
[504]
What makes it worse is that we waste even
the morning.
[507]
You see, hours in the day are not the same.
[510]
6 AM isnât the same as 6 PM.
[513]
What you achieve within 2hrs in the morning
can take you 5hrs in the evening because when
[518]
you wake up in the morning, your brain and
body are at their best states.
[523]
Even if you want to waste time, can you please
waste the evening?
[527]
If you want to watch a movie, can you please
watch it in the evening?
[530]
If you want to spend 5 hours on social media,
can you please do it in the evening?
[536]
If you take care of your morning, your life
will be better.
[540]
This is not to encourage you to waste all
your evening.
[543]
Instead, I think if at all you have the need
to entertain yourself and waste some time,
[548]
it should never be in the morning or afternoon.
[553]
In conclusion, donât ever forget that we
donât have a life.
[557]
None of us has 70 years.
[559]
All we have is the time and itâs very short
and irredeemable.
[564]
We donât have many minutes in a day and
any second wasted is gone forever.
[568]
If we truly care about our life, weâll care
about the seconds and the minutes.
[574]
Keep control of your time, and you canât
unless you say no.
[579]
Say no to little things.
[581]
Say No to many hours on social media.
[584]
Say No to gossips.
[586]
Say no to the unproductive argument.
[588]
Say no to many hours on tv shows.
[591]
Stay focused on what matters and youâll
be successful.
