In this video we will do a side by side diamond
size comparison on the finger and hand as
[5]
well as give you different price comparisons
at each size.
[9]
All along giving you different tips and tricks
to help you save on diamond shopping.
[14]
We will compare all the diamond sizes in this
video to this 1 Carat Diamond on a hand with
[19]
a size 6 finger.
[21]
This 1 carat diamond at Kay Jewelers like
most Brick and Mortar jewelry stores is about
[26]
$19,600 and that is because it is very high
quality.
[32]
In fact all the diamonds on the hands in this
video are all an ideal cut and very high quality.
[37]
Now we also take those diamonds and compare
them to the exact same quality diamond from
[42]
a link I will put in the description below
this video.
[46]
This 1 carat is $9,150 so you'd save over
$10,000 from my link below this video.
[54]
First lets start with a .25 or 1/4 carat diamond
on the hand.
[58]
Compared to a 1 carat diamond it is very unimpressive
and normally people don't go this low for
[63]
a center stone diamond.
[65]
Its main appeal only $580 from the link I
have below.
[70]
Next we look at a .33 or 1/3 carat diamond.
[74]
Usually this is the lowest people go for a
center stone diamond.
[79]
Carat is actually just the weight of the diamond
so remember just because it is a higher Carat
[84]
doesn't necessarily mean it is visually bigger.
[87]
A .4 carat diamond is starting to look a little
more substantial than the others.
[91]
Something to look out for: You can actually
increase the carat size of the stone without
[96]
it looking bigger.
[97]
However since these diamonds are ideally cut
you can be sure this is not the case.
[102]
A .5 carat or 1/2 carat diamond is a more
common size of a diamonds.
[107]
If you would've bought this diamond at Jared
you would have paid 1000 more than from my
[112]
recommended online store.
[114]
The first 4 diamonds we looked at compared
to each other you can see a gradual increase
[118]
in size.
[119]
To make sure you get a good diamond that looks
its carat size check the GIA diamond certificate
[125]
for an excellent or ideal cut before buying
a diamond in a store otherwise the diamond
[130]
store will have the diamond cut so that it
doesn't look as big as the carat.
[133]
Watch my other diamond videos if you want
more information on that.
[137]
This is a .66 or 2/3 carat diamond.
[140]
While it is getting closer to 1 carat it still
looks a bit smaller.
[144]
Online you'd save over 4 thousand on a ideal
diamond this size.
[149]
A .7 or 3/4 carat diamond is starting to get
close to a 1 carat diamond.
[155]
Kay Jewelers has this diamond at 10,400 but
only 3,900 from the link you can find below
[162]
this video.
[163]
This is a .85 carat diamond.
[166]
Another way diamond stores trick you is by
advertising the total carat diamond weight
[170]
of a ring as opposed to just the center stones
carat weight.
[174]
If this had little diamonds all around it
they could say it's 1.5 Carat TW or Total
[179]
Weight and hope you didn't know.
[182]
.95 Carat Diamonds and above are Interesting
diamonds.
[186]
Most people like buying slightly below 1 carat
because the difference in size is so minute.
[192]
But the cost jumps a lot as soon as you hit
the one carat.
[196]
Plus most people still just call it a 1 carat
diamond because it is so close.
[200]
So you are getting the best of both worlds.
[202]
I really recommend sticking slightly below
1 carat unless you are looking to go way above
[208]
1 carat.
[209]
And once again all these diamonds have an
ideal cut if they didn't the jewelers could
[213]
play with the angles of the diamonds to make
the carat weight go up without the appearance
[218]
of it going up.
[220]
Here is a 1.25 or a 1 1/4 carat diamond on
the finger.
[224]
On this you'd save $17000 buying it from the
link below this video.
[230]
A 1 1/3 carat diamond for some reason to me
is where diamonds start really looking big.
[235]
Maybe it's just me but when I see this diamond
I think "Wow" Rarely people buy diamonds this
[240]
big.
[241]
But now you know where to get a deal so that
maybe you can get one this big.
[246]
This is a 1 1/2 or 1.5 carat diamond comparison.
[250]
And in my opinion this size on the hand is
when you start looking like a high roller.
[254]
This diamond is close to a $20,000 dollar
savings.
[258]
This is a 2 carat diamond on the finger.
[260]
I decided to show you the price for this diamond
at Helzberg Diamond Store which is over $84,000.
[266]
I just want to show you it doesn't matter
which Brick and Mortar jewelry store you go
[271]
to, They are all over priced.
[273]
My number tip to buying a diamond is to have
you significant other go diamond shopping
[278]
at the mall with you or her best friend.
[281]
Making note of the diamond specs that she
chose and come buy the same quality diamond
[286]
from the link in this video and you'll save
money or you can spend the same amount you
[290]
would have spent and get an even bigger diamond.
[294]
Then just take it to the diamond store and
set it in their favorite band.
[297]
This is a 2 1/2 carat diamond.
[299]
Its price is less expensive than the 2 carat
diamond we just looked at.
[303]
The savings come from lower clarity which
isn't even that bad of a clarity but you need
[308]
to know what to look out for.
[309]
Here is a 2 3/4 near a 3 carat diamond on
the hand.
[313]
It is huge!
[315]
At this point if you buy this diamond you
are just plain showing off how much money
[318]
you have and kudos to you.
[321]
But if you got the money why not buy the diamond
that they will be wearing for the rest of
[324]
their life.
[326]
Lastly, we have almost a 4 carat diamond on
the finger, and it almost looks bigger than
[331]
the finger.
[332]
Seriously though this is just huge.
[335]
If you decide to buy a diamond make sure you

[339]
