I have a very high pitched聽

A lot of times people will聽
pre-judge me prior to knowing me

I'm Sadira
I'm 25 years old this year聽聽

and I'm currently leading聽
two ventures at the same time聽

One would be an e-commerce platform Malaysia's聽
first perfume subscription and second would be聽聽

a subsidiary of a Singapore biotech聽
company which is listed in Australia

My entrepreneurial journey started聽
when I was about 16 years old聽

When I grew up my family聽
actually had financial problems聽

I started a blog shop and I will聽
go from one class to another聽聽

asking if there's anyone聽
who love to purchase from me

Eventually the market expanded from my聽
high school to people out of my high school

I ran the business for about two聽
years with no capital in hand聽聽

and it actually generated about聽
four to five figures back then

Through entrepreneurship, I get聽
to challenge myself in terms of聽聽

my mentality my skillset and emotionally
I was very fortunate to be the only Asian聽聽

and the only woman who managed to make it聽
to top five and actually secured 2nd place聽聽

in a competition against 57聽
other countries in Germany

Undeniably there are many different聽
definitions when it comes to the term 'success'

but how I define success personally聽
is through my growth internally

There were a lot of trials and errors聽聽

and also failures where there are聽
times that I thought of giving up

Some people have even come up to my聽
face and told me that my personality聽聽

is unworthy of that position聽

stating that my achievements聽
are all due to pure luck

To me luck is when opportunity聽
meets with preparation

and I wouldn't try to challenge聽
or debate them because聽聽

I know my action and my result聽
will speak louder than how I look

Age is just a number and it聽
should never be a barrier but a聽聽

fuel or a drive to actually fulfill your passion

When we are young we are very fortunate聽
to not have any heavy commitment yet聽

I deem it as a very suitable time聽
for us to challenge ourselves聽

to go out to our comfort zone and to explore聽聽

different fields and gain聽
as much experience as we can

I even remember before going up to the聽
stage there were thousands of audience there聽

I was quite concerned if people聽
could not understand my accent

Despite having fear I know that聽
the only thing I can do to overcome聽聽

is to just face it and to just confront it

Through a lot of struggling and overcoming聽聽

different challenges that have given聽
me the confidence to be who I am today

I've met people who come up to me聽
who share with me that they did聽聽

not believe they are able to achieve something
because of their age or because they are women

I started going to different聽
universities and different聽聽

private colleges to actually聽
share about my journey

Other than showing them what聽
I have achieved on the surface

I also shared with them what's happening聽
behind the scenes to let them know that聽聽

behind every achievement there are a lot of things聽聽

a lot of effort that go behind the聽
scenes that many people do not see

There are a lot of things that聽
will have to come in secondary

For example, time spent with friends聽
and even sometimes family time

It is normal to have struggle despite someone聽
might look very successful on the surface

So I find it very fulfilling for me to show them聽聽

that it is achievable if you think聽
so and if you start executing

Failures are bound to happen

It is okay to be afraid

It is okay to have fear

I actually aspire to inspire more women聽
out there to be brave and to stand up for聽聽
