Will There Be a Second Stimulus Check? | Certified Financial Planner Responds - YouTube

Channel: Wealth Hacker - Jeff Rose

[0]
what's going on y'all welcome back the
[1]
channel wealth hacker labs I'm your
[3]
gracious host Jeff Rose let's go ahead
[5]
and dive right into it so finally people
[8]
are receiving their $1200 economic
[10]
stimulus check I know they're still
[13]
somehow people still haven't received
[15]
their $1200 check but I've been seeing
[17]
more people updating on some of my other
[20]
episodes we're talking about how the IRS
[22]
is updated the get my payment portal and
[26]
since they made those updates like a few
[28]
days ago people have gone the portal
[30]
re-enters all the information in and
[32]
found out that yes they finally were
[35]
given a date on when they were going to
[37]
get their check and many people have
[39]
also received that check there's still a
[41]
lot of question a lot of concern is
[44]
there going to be a second economic
[48]
stimulus check and you know right now
[51]
just depending on what where you live
[53]
what states I know I live here in the
[55]
state of Tennessee represent Nashville
[57]
here and we've just began phase 1 of
[61]
reopening some of the businesses like
[64]
rush some of the restaurants are opening
[66]
up at 50% capacity I think even though I
[70]
heard the mall was going to open up nail
[72]
salons are still closed and I think
[74]
there's still some that still law states
[75]
they haven't gone that far yeah I will
[77]
tell you like myself making me my family
[80]
you know right now we're still sticking
[82]
to the quarantine life we just don't
[86]
feel like there's enough data out there
[89]
and enough research that it's safe to
[91]
reintegrate with just the normal way of
[95]
life it's like all right you know we're
[96]
we've gone we're growing accustomed to
[99]
it I'm sure maybe you have yes we're a
[100]
little stir crazy but you know we are
[103]
surviving and we're grateful for that
[104]
but I just share all that because many
[107]
people are still not able to work many
[110]
businesses are still haven't been able
[112]
to open and the $1,200 stimulus check
[116]
either that they received or are so
[119]
waiting to receive it it's not it's not
[122]
doing the trick you know there still
[123]
needs to be more now whether that's on
[126]
the government's you know on tradition
[130]
shoulder all that burden or
[132]
you know some of that has to fall on the
[134]
consumer on us in the fact that like you
[136]
know did we have ample savings account
[139]
you know do we you know we're we living
[140]
within our means and you know we
[143]
overextended on different things I mean
[145]
there's that's definitely something we
[147]
could discuss and then we actually love
[149]
that discussion but there's still a lot
[152]
people that are still wondering and
[154]
there's been a lot of discussion on the
[156]
potential of having a second economic
[159]
stimulus check and the probably one that
[162]
got the most attention was the emergency
[164]
money for the people Act and this was
[167]
the one brought on by representatives
[170]
Tim Ryan and ROH Khanna and it was not
[173]
only a two thousand dollar one-time
[175]
payment for each spouse if you if you're
[179]
married but there's also additional
[181]
additional monies for your dependents
[184]
but the the one that really made this
[186]
really stand out was it wasn't just a
[188]
one-time payment
[189]
it was a recurring payment and of a
[193]
thousand dollars per month and that was
[195]
either up to a minimum of six months
[196]
potentially up to a year many people
[199]
here in the comments here at the wealth
[201]
hacker channel wealth hacker nation
[203]
really wonder how in the world that
[206]
could actually get passed and I would
[209]
concur like I don't feel like for the
[213]
u.s. to for the government to issue a
[216]
second economic stimulus check whether
[218]
it be for a thousand twelve hundred two
[220]
thousand I think that's a possibility
[224]
but to issue a reoccurring payment for
[228]
six months or longer that just seems
[232]
like a just a financial burden that I
[236]
just I just don't think they could
[237]
justify I mean I know there were 24
[240]
trillion some dollars in debt and like
[242]
let's just add more money to the pile
[244]
you can see my government handgun back
[246]
there my government gold gun if you've
[248]
watched my other videos government just
[250]
print money but that is just eight a lot
[253]
a lot of money that being said I just
[255]
want to bring up an article that came
[257]
across so this was on Forbes by one of
[260]
their contributors which I'm also a
[261]
contributor Forbes you can check out
[262]
some of my articles there as
[263]
well but basically it just talks about a
[266]
a glimmer of hope
[267]
emerges for a second stimulus check and
[271]
you know it doesn't mention you know a
[273]
Senate Senate Majority Leader Mitch
[275]
McConnell and initially like he was
[277]
pushing back on this and really just
[280]
saying and I mean and you got to
[282]
understand like we have just printed so
[285]
much money you know you had the first
[287]
wave of the carries a cue just had the
[288]
second wave he was a 484 billion dollars
[291]
and you know all of the small businesses
[293]
hadn't got all their monies yet he got
[294]
big corporations to get money that
[296]
shouldn't got money and so it's just
[298]
like hey let's just put a pause button
[299]
and see where we're at you know which is
[303]
is smart
[304]
you know like anytime if you tell me
[306]
consumer were to go out spending spree
[308]
you're buying this and doing that you
[310]
know it's it's it's notable to like take
[313]
a pause and just take find a pulse on
[314]
what's going on with the economy find
[316]
out what's going on with the coronavirus
[318]
and seeing how that impacts everything
[320]
but then so there was this tweet here by
[323]
Jeff Bennett who's a White House
[325]
economic adviser and just show you this
[328]
tweet here but I'll read it for baby you
[330]
can read it White House economic adviser
[331]
Kevin Hassett
[333]
tells reporters the administration is
[335]
studying carefully whether to provide
[336]
those who qualify with another round of
[340]
stimulus checks beyond the one-time
[342]
$1,200 direct payments says it could be
[345]
included in a phase four deal so and
[349]
honestly that's basically the summary of
[351]
what this article summarizes is is just
[355]
that what this White House economic
[358]
adviser and reporting from what the
[360]
Kevin has Kevin has to had to say in
[363]
regards to that with everything that's
[365]
going on there's no article I found just
[366]
talking about just that that potential
[368]
but the reality is that businesses are
[371]
still hurting people are still hurting
[374]
we right now like so as a small business
[378]
you know I applied for the the PPP loan
[380]
the Paycheck protection program did not
[383]
get approved phase one reapply for Phase
[386]
two mine is still in review and I will
[390]
say like I'm in a position where if I
[392]
don't get approved like I'm gonna make
[394]
or you know I'm going to be okay there
[397]
are other businesses that can't say that
[399]
but all of those applications I mean
[402]
it's it's it's just it's stuck right now
[405]
there's so many application and not
[407]
every single Bank is doing it and it's
[409]
just stuck it's just this big clog on
[412]
getting all this money approved and
[414]
because of that it's like Congress
[416]
really can't focus on a second package
[420]
especially you know now we got States
[421]
reopening up coming off quarantine it's
[424]
like there's just can that really happen
[427]
but if if you're new to the channel then
[431]
chances are you've if you're a newer
[433]
subscriber newer watcher here there's a
[435]
guy by the name of Brian Kim and he's a
[438]
CPA out of Chicago and he had this video
[441]
go alive I think a few days ago and I
[444]
give Brian creds oh he did a lot of
[446]
research and just looking at like what
[448]
is that potential of the government
[452]
issuing a second check and he made some
[454]
really really good points in this video
[456]
and if you want check out that video
[457]
I'll link it up in the description but
[460]
you know one of some of the key points
[461]
that Brian brought up I will say like
[462]
you know he he didn't see that he didn't
[466]
see an economic viable that the
[468]
government could do a reoccurring
[469]
payment he definitely does see potential
[472]
for a second check and recognizing like
[476]
I think he had four points all the two
[478]
that really stood out to me were one was
[480]
for the government to issue a second
[484]
check realizing like all that money that
[486]
they're giving us is going right back
[488]
into the economy
[489]
I mean hence why they call it an
[490]
economic stimulus check so the
[493]
government get the gun
[495]
print money spitting out money that is
[499]
possible and the other reason he brings
[503]
up which makes total sense is that
[505]
they've got a blueprint on how to do it
[507]
you know they've got to get my payment
[509]
portal you know they got the whole
[511]
application process you know they they
[513]
know how to do it and if if you still
[517]
have all the paper checks and still need
[519]
to go out if there's a second stimulus
[521]
eken civilus check hopefully people now
[524]
will actually do the direct deposit so
[526]
that the weight is long but either way
[528]
you know
[528]
you've got the the AIA the tax preparers
[531]
you know working for the IRS they're
[532]
coming back into the office you know
[534]
they're not all working from home so you
[536]
don't have everybody courting their
[537]
house trying to process all these tax
[539]
returns all the tax returns should be
[542]
processed by this time if there were a
[545]
second check so it just makes it so much
[549]
easier for it to happen if it does
[552]
happen but as brian says and everybody
[556]
else would say and I will say nobody
[558]
really knows and we basically have to
[561]
see how this is going to play out is
[563]
coronavirus Cova 19 have we put a bit of
[568]
a hold on the spreading and the
[571]
contamination and just everybody getting
[573]
infected or you know we finally have
[576]
slowed down numbers but if we start
[579]
reopening things back up and social
[581]
distancing has become something of the
[582]
past now it comes back and now people
[586]
are getting sick again
[587]
and then you got shut everything down
[589]
and just talking with a neighbor friend
[593]
of mine a buddy of mine who works for a
[596]
publicly traded company that they are in
[600]
the restaurant field and right now they
[603]
aren't opening their restaurants yet any
[606]
of the restaurants nationwide and the
[608]
reason being is because it is so much
[611]
more expensive to reopen their
[615]
restaurants and then people come in and
[618]
all of a sudden there's another outbreak
[620]
and then they've got shut everything
[622]
down again that is so much more
[626]
expensive than just taking a
[628]
wait-and-see approach like just waiting
[630]
a few more weeks maybe a month or two
[634]
just see how this is gonna pan out and
[636]
then they'll you know consider opening
[639]
at that point but that saves them more
[641]
money having to reopen and then shut
[643]
everything down now they're publicly
[645]
traded they've got debt that they can
[647]
that they can survive on you know a lot
[650]
of small businesses can't do that so
[651]
that's one thing they have in their
[652]
favor but that's just a nature of what's
[655]
still going on in like for the the
[657]
government to be in a stance that yes
[659]
this is going to happen is
[660]
we're gonna do here's a second round
[661]
this was it look like here's the money
[662]
here's who qualifies so on and so forth
[665]
they're just not a position to do so but
[668]
if it needs to happen it could happen
[671]
and everything is in place for that to
[674]
happen so anyway just I know that many
[677]
of you still have questions still have
[678]
concerns and one of things I want to do
[681]
for this video I'm gonna announce it
[682]
here I haven't done this yet I'm gonna
[683]
give a shout out to meet Kevin because I
[685]
notice on all his videos that you can do
[688]
a fundraiser with all of your ads
[689]
earnings and it's something I saw before
[692]
I've never actually looked into it and
[693]
this is something I've just I'm enjoying
[695]
doing this this is one of my creative
[697]
outlets well-being quarantine so I want
[700]
to you know give back as much as I can
[702]
so I will have a charity Nashville was
[705]
recently here recently hit with the
[706]
tornado right before all this happened
[710]
so I'm gonna see if that that's a
[712]
charity I don't really know what the
[713]
charity is so if there's something
[714]
different than what I'm saying right now
[715]
that's why but I definitely want to get
[718]
back any way I can whether it be giving
[720]
information here on the channel or you
[722]
know through financial means as well so
[724]
anyway I appreciate you all I hope
[726]
you're staying safe keep your head above
[727]
water remember that man is just we're
[731]
gonna get through this you know we've
[732]
been through a lot as a country and
[734]
we're gonna get through this we're
[735]
getting through this and just stay
[736]
strong keep kicking butt arch ah Jeff
[738]
rose money that is your money it's your
[740]
life no you can make it awesome until
[741]
then peace
