Let’s do a quick walkthrough of 9 grant opportunities for minority business owners.

The National Association For The Self-Employed offers Growth Grants worth up to $4,000 each.

While you won’t hit the funding jackpot with the NASE, it is still a great resource

for minority business owners with a specific, defined funding need.

Note that you’ll need to join NASE (at a cost of $120 for a year) to apply.

AURA The FedEx Small Business Grant Contest is

held annually to award grants in the form of cash and prizes (such as credits for FedEx

 in which case you’d be ineligible.

Since 2017, this competition gives startups a chance to connect with investors and venture

There’s also a chance that winners will be awarded prizes from $1000 to $50k for their

Beauty retailer Sephora is helping aspiring entrepreneurs via grants for minorities through

its Accelerate Program.

In order to apply, applicants need to own an early-stage brand that’s not yet widely

distributed and have at least a sample or prototype of a merchandise product such as

makeup, skincare, fragrance, hair care, or wellness.

Now the number of recipients and submission dates vary each year, but the Asian Women

Giving Circle has distributed over $1 million in funding to Asian American women-owned businesses.

A request for proposals is typically released each January with applications due in March.

AURA Formed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic,

The Coalition To Back Black Businesses is set to run through 2023 and provides Black

vulnerable community impacted by coronavirus.
