absolutely essential so let's talk about

some examples of that and some different

reasoning why we have this thought

process and really break this down so

number one I kind of talked about how

the plumbers are seeing more

effectiveness now why do I think that I

think that because I'm seeing that we

have customers that are plumbers in fact

we have one customer it's been with us

for two years spent a lot of money on

Google Ads you know when he first

started with us
[94]
had great great results but the market
[97]
is shifting right so those results are
[99]
starting to fall down a little bit now
[100]
and so he's looking for ways to increase
[102]
the results back up and he's really
[105]
invested in social media marketing and
[106]
so you would think an Instagram account

for a plumber does that even make sense

well it actually does and that's what
[112]
we're

because he's posting content on social
[114]
media on Instagram coupons different
[117]
information about his businesses is
[119]
building brand awareness here's the
[121]
thing guys Millennials and Generation
[124]
Z's generation alphas which are the real
[126]
little kids they're not using Google
[127]
these people are using Instagram and
[130]
Facebook and snapchat and all these
[132]
other tools like YouTube all day what

this younger audience is going to do if

they're already in Instagram they're not
[139]
going to go out of Instagram to search

on Google why would they do that they're
[142]
gonna stay in Instagram they're gonna

search hashtag city plumber Fort Collins

plumber Denver plumber or whatever it

might be and they're gonna see who's
[150]
there if you're not there you don't
[152]
exist even if you're ranking at the top
[154]
of the page on Google they're not
[156]
looking there so if you want to be
[157]
successful into the future you have to
[159]
be where your consumers are and the
[162]
younger audience is all on social media
[164]
so it's vital to build a presence on
[167]
social media to be posting content to
[168]
social media and to be there that when
[171]
they look they find you and you're gonna
[174]
get the business so this plumber is
[175]
ahead of the curve and they're seeing
[177]
great results and you should be too the

second point I'd like to make is that

marketing has come full circle

the forced search what did people do
[184]
they basically asked for referrals hey
[186]
where do you go for a plumber hey who do
[188]
you get your haircut with hey what
[191]
accountant do you use we used to ask our
[193]
friends ask our family and they would
[194]
give us this feedback right because
[196]
before the internet that was the easiest
[198]
way to get those results but then when
[200]
Google came out and searched became so
[202]
easy the referral system kind of went
[204]
away right so we would just go search on
[206]
Google that's why it was so valuable to
[207]
market there well we've come full circle
[209]
now we're back to the referral business
[212]
where people are again saying to their
[214]
friends and family and followers hey who
[216]
do you guys use for that who do you guys
[217]
use for that and if you don't have a
[220]
social presence you're not in the mix
[222]
now right because this communication is
[224]
occurring like it did in the old days
[225]
but now it's through social media
[227]
they're direct men
[228]
each other they're sharing this content
[229]
on social media and so if you have a

social presence that people are seeing
[233]
you you're going to be top of mind so

when somebody asks for a plumber and

they've seen you around maybe they
[238]
didn't even use you they're gonna think
[240]
of you they're gonna share that post
[241]
that they saw recently they're gonna
[242]
think of your name and direct message

you say hey check these guys out so it's

very important to start building the
[247]
social presence now because this is
[249]
where the market is shifting and if
[251]
you're not there you're not going to get
[252]
this referral business anymore

third point I'd like to make is about

social proof social proof is more and
[258]
more important today even if somebody
[259]
did find you on Google more and more
[262]
they're doing a spot check on your
[263]
reputation and your social presence
[265]
before they call you or fill out a form

what they're gonna do is they're gonna
[268]
go check on social check on Facebook
[270]
check on Instagram if you don't have any
[272]
followers if you don't have a presence
[274]
there you're considered uncool and so if

you want to be cool and be a hip

business in a younger generation and a

younger demographics mind you're gonna

have to have social proof which means

you have a good amount of followers you
[286]
are posting content frequently you're
[288]
engaging with your community you're
[289]
active you're a new business you're
[291]
modern you're cutting-edge so why

wouldn't I go with you this is a thought

process that people go through during

the buying cycle so make sure you have

that in place so you're gonna be missing

out on sales so here's the deal what do

you look like on social do you have more
[304]
followers than your competitor or do
[306]
they have more than you right are you
[308]
posting content frequently do you have
[309]
great designs does your content add
[311]
value to your followers are they
[314]
learning from you are you cutting edge

are you doing videos video is key today

what things are you doing to build your

brand presence on social media because

this is where the consumers live now

right the main TV channels that night

used to be ESPN and ABC and NBC if

people would sit down on their couch and

they'd watch those TV channels that

still exists except for they're on their
[336]
couch they're looking at Instagram we're

looking at YouTube they're looking at
[339]
Facebook and if you're not there you're

not a part of the conversation in their
[343]
mind when they're thinking about who to

do business with so what are you doing
