[0]
lots of washington insiders claim to be
[1]
washington outsiders because it sounds
[3]
good one thing you can say about
[4]
marjorie taylor green
[5]
she really is a washington outsider as
[7]
close as you'll find in congress that's
[9]
for sure
[9]
and that means that she often notices
[11]
things that people have been there for a
[13]
long time
[13]
miss and that's what happened earlier
[15]
this week when marjory taylor green
[17]
found something
[18]
lurking in an infrastructure bill that
[20]
democrats have written that bill states
[22]
this quote
[23]
women shall be presumed to be socially
[25]
and economically disadvantaged
[28]
disadvantaged individuals for the
[29]
purposes of this subsection
[32]
well that was news to marjorie taylor
[33]
green so she tweeted this quote my
[35]
construction company is woman owned and
[37]
i'm very offended to be presumed
[39]
socially and economically disadvantaged
[42]
end quote we checked and it turns out
[45]
that
[45]
many government laws assume that women
[48]
the majority of the american population
[50]
are quote
[50]
economically disadvantaged what is that
[53]
congresswoman margie taylor green joins
[55]
us tonight congresswoman thanks so much
[56]
for coming on so how surprised were you
[59]
to learn
[61]
in this bill that you're a victim
[64]
well i wasn't just surprised i was
[66]
outraged as a matter of fact i'm i'm
[68]
very angry about it
[69]
because i can tell you this i'm probably
[71]
one of the only members of congress
[73]
that owns a woman-owned construction
[76]
company
[77]
i've been successful in 11 states we've
[80]
done a lot of money in revenue i can say
[82]
a lot more than the federal government
[84]
and we know how to turn a profit not a
[86]
loss and i can tell you
[88]
as a member of congress who's been
[90]
successful in business
[91]
i'm not only surprised i am very angered
[95]
to be considered in a category that is
[97]
socially
[98]
and economically disadvantaged because
[101]
as a matter of fact
[102]
i don't consider myself that way at all
[104]
i consider myself one of the luckiest
[106]
women on the planet because
[108]
i'm an american woman and i live in a
[110]
country
[111]
where through hard work i can be
[113]
successful and that's exactly what we've
[115]
done
[116]
in our family construction business that
[118]
is a woman-owned business
[120]
and so for democrats to treat women and
[123]
put us down in a category
[125]
where we have to be a victim in order to
[127]
succeed
[128]
i find that extremely insulting and i
[131]
see it as a continuation as the
[132]
democrats war
[133]
on women well it's a little strange too
[137]
because most americans
[139]
are women so how can you have an
[141]
oppressed minority that's actually the
[143]
majority
[145]
of the country i mean it doesn't kind of
[147]
make any sense does it
[150]
no it doesn't make sense but this is how
[152]
democrats
[153]
achieve their agenda they have to divide
[155]
everyone up in some sort of political
[157]
identity
[158]
whether you're a woman you're you're
[160]
lgbtq
[162]
xyz whatever transgender black hispanic
[166]
asian they have to divide everyone up
[168]
they have to make you know give you the
[170]
message that you're a victim
[172]
and you can't be successful unless
[174]
you're using
[175]
their policy or their government program
[178]
that they're going to provide to you
[180]
at a cost to the american taxpayers and
[182]
that's how you will be successful
[184]
you see they don't believe in individual
[186]
rights they don't believe in our
[188]
freedoms
[188]
and they don't believe in americans
[191]
independent
[192]
will and hard work to be successful
[195]
that's not who the democrat party is
[197]
they're the party of socialism and
[199]
that's why in every single bill i read
[201]
and believe me i read them
[203]
because as a business owner i'm used to
[205]
actually reading contracts
[206]
and reading information and anything i
[209]
sign my name on
[210]
and that's why in this transportation
[212]
bill i was completely
[214]
shocked and angered and insulted frankly
[217]
as a woman who has been successful
[219]
in the construction industry you see
[221]
what democrats want in this
[223]
this disgusting infrastructure bill that
[225]
they just got through the senate and
[226]
biden announced that they have a
[228]
have a deal for you see what they want
[231]
is they want a transfer of wealth
[233]
and they don't want to give contracts to
[236]
transportation companies to trucking
[239]
companies to paving companies
[241]
that are able to actually do the job and
[243]
do the job well
[244]
they want to provide it to
[246]
minority-owned companies
[248]
or women-owned companies who they
[249]
consider are socially and economically
[252]
disadvantaged
[253]
and this is everything wrong with the
[255]
democrats policies and that's why i'm
[257]
very much against it
[259]
yeah the party of rich ladies telling
[261]
you that ladies are oppressed
[263]
i love it i can't believe you read the
[265]
bill
[266]
boy you are new to this you're probably
[268]
the only one who did margie taylor green
