[4]
You have to find a moment in your life where you have to man up.
[8]
You know no matter what's happened in your past you聽have to face that.
[12]
Not saying that's going to be roses, but you'll at least know what聽it is.
[18]
And then at that point it's your choice.
[36]
Well my name is Will Suppes. I'm 30 years聽 old, I live in Franklin, Tennessee.
[47]
Being the youngest of four was interesting聽dynamic in the family.
[50]
For me I had to be the jokester.
[54]
To always call attention in the house, because there was definitely plenty of that.
[60]
The relationship between me and my father聽was never good,聽聽
[66]
Because there was things in my past
[69]
that happened that I always wanted to come to my聽 father and present to him and say,
[73]
you know, "Hey dad, how do I work through this?"
[76]
"How do I how do I get聽through this?" and I can never do that.
[79]
I could never present those to him and ask for guidance because
[84]
you know there's just things that stick with you.
[90]
Where I was more pissed off most of time being聽 around him in situations where I just wanted
[95]
more understanding, more connection, and more聽love from him.
[101]
To have my father say you're a f***ing mistake
[104]
is something that I will never ever forget.
[109]
I heard that over a few few separate聽times throughout my life which is
[113]
it really cut through the deepest part of who I was.
[121]
There was a point in my life where I did suffer聽 some sexual abuse. Not from anybody in the family聽聽
[128]
But from somebody outside the family.
[130]
I had such a shame in such a weight on me already
[132]
from not having a connection specifically with聽 my father. So I couldn't necessarily bring that to them.
[138]
I couldn't bring that situation.
[140]
Because聽in my mind it was already my fault. I screwed up somehow.
[146]
Music is, I probably say it's everything聽for me.
[150]
And that's why we made the move from the Chicago area to the Nashville area.
[154]
I mean that聽was the big push we were my wife and I were both
[157]
in Chicago both in the corporate realm and we're聽 just had a day where I think was like a 14-hour聽聽
[163]
day we sat across to each other on just dining聽 room table eating some dinner late at night were聽聽
[166]
like there's got to be something more than this聽in life.
[169]
I thought about the idea and said,
[171]
"Let's try Nashville we love music we want to move south."
[174]
A good friend of mine had been through The Weekend聽聽
[176]
and he had said to me because he had seen where聽 I was in my life and I was just struggling I mean聽聽
[181]
day in and day out I just I couldn't connect with聽things.
[185]
and he had come to me graciously and said,
[189]
"This is something that I've gone through I think聽 you should at the very least investigate it for聽yourself."
[194]
So I did and just felt on my heart聽that this is something that I should attend.
[201]
I found that I was I was very significant and聽 that I was born with a purpose.
[209]
And yeah I had a lot of hurt in my life and I had a lot聽of pain, but I think for me is that I was able
[214]
to acknowledge what that pain was and to find
[219]
not聽only understanding, but
[222]
to find healing
[225]
After The Weekend it wasn't a hundred percent fixed.
[229]
That's聽a lie, but for me going through that weekend it started the healing process.
[236]
Whatever you've gone聽through, doesn't matter. That's who you are.
[241]
You know, God doesn't make mistakes!
[244]
Not by any means.
[248]
You know he may allow things in your life to happen that you don't understand.
[252]
But you're聽not a mistake, nobody is.
[255]
You we're created for a purpose.
