Hi. Let me show you
how you can easily create
[4]
a Shipper’s Letter of Instruction
for your export shipment.
[9]
As an example, let's say that
I'm an exporter based in the USA
[13]
and I am shipping a 20-foot container
of furniture products
[17]
to my buyer in Australia.
[20]
So, at the top, I select the Shipper.
[23]
I can select from my pre-saved list
[26]
or click Create to add and save
new company details.
[33]
I will select ABC Exports.
[40]
The Consignee I will select from my list.
[47]
If there is a third Notify Party involved,
[50]
I can also add different company details
or click to create.
[58]
Method of Dispatch: by sea.
[63]
Type of Shipment: FCL.
[68]
I can enter the Vessel
and Voyage number here if I need to.
[74]
Port of Loading: Long Beach.
[80]
Date of Departure, if known.
[84]
Port of Discharge: Sydney.
[89]
Final Destination: Australia.
[95]
On the right is my Reference Number.
[99]
And if I want to, I can also add
Buyer Reference
[103]
or Export Reference numbers.
[108]
Then I select the Forwarding Agent.
[111]
This is the freight forwarder
or the shipping line
[113]
that is arranging
the export of my shipment.
[117]
I can click to select from my list
or click Create
[122]
and create and save
a new freight company.
[132]
I will select DE Freight.
[135]
Note that the freight company's logo
will appear here
[140]
and at the bottom left,
[141]
the freight company’s
terms and conditions will show.
[148]
Country of Origin of Goods:
United States.
[153]
Country of Final Destination is Australia.
[160]
Freight Charges will be freight Collect.
[166]
Document Instructions: Express Release.
[174]
The IncoTerms of this shipment
is FOB at Long Beach.
[184]
The Declared Value, I
select the currency
[191]
and enter the value
of the goods.
[197]
In this section,
I answer questions
[200]
on what things the freight forwarder
needs to arrange.
[206]
Export Number, no.
Cartage / Pickup, yes.
[212]
Insurance, no.
[218]
Then I enter the details of the shipment.
[222]

[233]

[241]

[251]
Gross Weight in kilograms
and the cubic measurement.
[264]
Then I answer, “Does the shipment contain
hazardous or dangerous goods?” No.
[272]
“Is this shipment on Letter of Credit?”
No.
[279]
I can add any Special Instructions here.
[289]
Place of issue is at Long Beach.
[294]
The date, my company details,
Name of Signatory.
[305]
Then I can sign the document
using my mouse
[310]
or if I have already created
a profile signature,
[315]
I can automatically insert the signature
by clicking Use Profile Signature.
[323]
And that's it. I click Save
and the document will be created.
[329]
From this screen,
I can click Download
[334]
and the PDF document will download
[336]
and display exactly
as I saw it on my screen.
[347]
And that's it.
[348]
I've created
my Shipper’s Letter of Instruction
[351]
to send to my freight company.
