ChuChu loved all of the butterflies that fluttered in the garden.

She loved the red ones.

The yellow ones

The black ones

The blue ones

The pink ones

The green ones

The multi-coloured butterflies

The striped ones

She even loved the ones with dots on their wings!

Hello, butterflies!

You are all so pretty.

I love you all!

ChuChu would often run around the garden

trying to catch and touch the butterflies.

I want to play with you, butterflies.

Do you want to play with me too?

You are all so beautiful.

I wish you would all come closer to me and let me touch you.

The butterflies flew around.

But, they never came too close to her.

So she decided she would watch them from afar.

I know you are feeling shy, butterflies.

So I'll just watch you from far.

Every morning, ChuChu would sit on the garden bench

and watch the butterflies dance around the garden.

Watching them flutter their pretty little wings was a magical sight.

You are all wonderful, butterflies.

You really are.

One morning, while ChuChu was watching the butterflies, something terrible happened.

A pretty little yellow butterfly got caught in a spider's web.

And even though the butterfly struggled very hard to pull itself out. ChuChu saw that it just couldn't.

ChuChu ran to help the butterfly.

Oh no!

You poor little thing.

You're stuck in the spider's web, aren't you?

ChuChu grabbed the butterfly's wings very gently and pulled the butterfly out of the web.

All the other butterflies watched as ChuChu put the butterfly on a flower.

Soon the little yellow butterfly was fluttering its wings again.

Hooray! You are just fine, little one!

You can go with your friends and dance all over the garden again.

Take care! And be careful not to get caught in the spider's web again.

The next morning, when ChuChu went to the garden, she closed her eyes.

Today, I'm going to close my eyes and imagine that all the butterflies are coming closer to me.

And then something magical and wonderful happened.

All the butterflies that ChuChu loved so much surrounded ChuChu.

Some of them even sat on her arms and shoulders.

And when ChuChu opened her eyes, she saw all her favourite butterflies smiling at her.

All the butterflies had come closer to ChuChu

They all wanted to thank ChuChu for helping their friend

ChuChu was very happy!

Hooray! My dream has come true!

The butterflies have come close to me.

ChuChu had a wonderful time playing with the butterflies in the garden that day.

And the little yellow butterfly that ChuChu had helped even whispered its name into ChuChu's ear.

Oh, your name is Butter, is it?

That's such a lovely name!

If you ever see a little yellow butterfly while playing in the garden,

ask if its name is Butter.

If it is, you'll know it's the same butterfly that ChuChu helped.

One morning, while walking to school

ChuChu spotted a seed on the ground

A seed!

I must take it to school

and show it to Miss Dorothy

Miss Dorothy, ChuChu’s teacher

was happy to see the seed

I’m glad you brought this seed, ChuChu

Today, I’m going to show you and all your friends

How we grow plants

Miss Dorothy got some seeds

and handed them out to the children

She also handed each child a pot

with their name written on the side

Look! These pots have our names on them

and they are full of soil

Miss Dorothy said

that we should plant our seeds in these pots

All the children

poked small holes in the soil

and placed the seeds inside

Miss Dorothy then took

all the children out to the garden

We’ll leave the pots here in the fresh air and sunlight

And we’ll water them every day

Plants need fresh air, water and sunlight to grow.

The children watered their pots every day

and placed them where they would get

plenty of fresh air and sunshine.

Every morning

ChuChu and the other children

would run to see their pots

And they would lovingly water their seeds

When will the plants grow, Miss Dorothy?

Soon ChuChu!

The fresh air, water, sunlight

and your loving care will turn your seeds

into beautiful plants soon

In a few days, plants were sprouting in almost all the pots.

Yay! Look my seed has grown into a plant!

So has mine!

But in ChuChu’s pot there was nothing growing.

Huh? There’s still no plant in my pot, Miss Dorothy.

My seed is still just a seed.

Don’t worry, ChuChu. You must be patient

and not give up.

You must continue to water your pot

and give it fresh air, sunshine and your love

So ChuChu did just what Miss Dorothy told her to.

She watered, and loved the seed in the pot every day.

On monday morning, when ChuChu

returned to school, she was delighted to see

A beautiful plant growing in her pot.

Miss Dorothy! Chika! Chiku!

Look! My seed has grown into a plant
