How much can you make as a claims adjuster?聽
I've received this question for my recent聽聽
[5]
video that i posted about planes adjusting聽
one-on-one and the types of adjusters etc聽聽
[11]
and that video if you haven't seen it can be聽
found in the description by product of that聽聽
[15]
video people have asked well how much can do聽
adjusters normally make and that question is a聽聽
[21]
very can be very opaque in many cases because it聽
all depends on again the type of adjuster you are聽聽
[27]
it depends on if you are adjusting large claims聽
versus smaller or moderate claims it also depends聽聽
[34]
on your level of experience as a claims adjuster聽
and whether or not you're adjusting catastrophic聽聽
[39]
losses or you're going out for catastrophe聽
think for an example hurricane Katrina where聽聽
[45]
many adjusters had to deploy out to New Orleans to聽
essentially adjust those losses once it was safe聽聽
[52]
for them to do so when you are a catastrophe or聽
you're you're working a catastrophe as an adjuster聽聽
[59]
typically the wages and the salaries that you聽
make also the per diems that you get can be very聽聽
[65]
fruitful and you know it's not聽
uncommon for adjusters to make聽聽
[70]
any in the ballpark of six figures based off the聽
amount of hours that they work in a catastrophe聽聽
[75]
and when i say six figures on an annual聽
basis not like all that like one time or聽聽
[81]
at one moment it's on an annual basis it's not聽
uncommon for an adjuster to make six figures if聽聽
[86]
they're constantly doing that or they've worked聽
the appropriate hours during the catastrophe聽聽
[91]
adjusters that i know that do very well they聽
work on commercial they work large property聽聽
[97]
claims they can make anywhere in the ballpark聽
of six figures on an annual basis as well聽聽
[103]
and again it's about the amount of time you have聽
the amount of experience you have in the industry聽聽
[108]
and also your credentials if you do have of course聽
you have to have your claims adjuster license but聽聽
[115]
there are also accreditations and certificates聽
you can get as a claims adjuster you there's an聽聽
[121]
associate in claims offered by the institute it's聽
the aic i'll post that in the description here聽聽
[127]
you can take a look at that and there's also many聽
other um adjust certificates that you can get to聽聽
[133]
further prove your skills as a claims adjuster聽
but it is a great in my experience it is a great聽聽
[139]
industry i'm a licensed claims adjuster although聽
i don't address claims at this juncture but i have聽聽
[145]
and i have been a part of the claims environment聽
i actually recommend anyone in insurance even if聽聽
[151]
you're an underwriter or an agent at some point in聽
your career you either um take some time and work聽聽
[156]
in claims or you just shadow someone in claims聽
it's just because it's the root of the insurance聽聽
[161]
industry it's why people buy insurance because聽
they want to make sure if something happens聽聽
[165]
they have a claim so people are paying insurance聽
premiums for claims so the claims adjuster has a聽聽
[170]
really important part and just know that i think聽
that says a lot knowing that the claims adjuster聽聽
[176]
does have an important part very important part聽
of the insurance industry that goes to show you聽聽
[181]
the demand number one for claims adjusters and聽
with that demand comes you know very reasonable聽聽
[187]
and fruitful salaries if you're willing to put聽
in the work and improve your continuous education聽聽
[194]
the claims adjusters do make out very well and聽
then if you're a independent adjuster which we聽聽
[199]
talked about that in the other video if you're聽
an independent adjuster and you work either for聽聽
[205]
the independent adjusting firm or you have your聽
own independent or ia firm that's independent聽聽
[210]
adjusting you can typically make um even more and聽
that's why you see independent adjusting firms聽聽
[217]
grow very large or to the extent that they want to聽
grow they actually have to hire other independent聽聽
[223]
adjusters to help them and to work with them聽
based off the contracts that they have with the聽聽
[227]
insurance companies but typically even if you you聽
go that route the more entrepreneurial route you聽聽
[233]
have your own business then it could really become聽
more fruitful so it just depends on what your聽聽
[238]
goals are if you want to work for an insurance聽
company you can do very well and then if you also聽聽
[243]
want to do your own independent addressing firm聽
or work for an independent adjusting firm you can聽聽
[248]
also do very well and then lastly we talked about聽
a public adjuster and again public adjusters or聽聽
[254]
pas they work for the ins the policy holder they聽
don't work for an insurance company they are hired聽聽
[261]
by the policyholder to help them advocate on the聽
policyholders behalf with the insurance company聽聽
[266]
and public adjusters can make even more depending聽
on the amount of time that they're willing to put聽聽
[271]
in and how many policyholders that they're聽
working with and even they have their own聽聽
[275]
public adjusting firm they could also do very聽
well because they receive a percentage of the聽聽
[281]
insurance claims payout and every state has a a聽
set amount a maximum amount that public adjusters聽聽
[287]
can get per claim but just take a look at your聽
state and how much that state offers for that and聽聽
[292]
you might find that that might be something you聽
are interested in taking a look at, good luck!
