How to Short on Binance - YouTube

hey what's up everyone a lot of people ask  me hey coach you talk about shorting but  

i have no idea what shorting is what it  means how to do it so can you please do  

a binance shorting tutorial how do i  short on binance is a question a lot  

of people have asked me so i'm going to  show you today how to actually do that  

within the next five minutes keep it really really  simple so let's get started but before we do

all right guys welcome so what we're going to  be doing is looking at how do i short on binance  

so let's start on the traditional how i buy and  sell so basically normally i think the price is  

going to go up so i can buy on spot at a certain  price right and how much i want so let's say it's  

one bitcoin and then i can also sell at where  i think the price is getting to so let's say i  

buy now and i think it's going to fifty four  thousand i put fifty four thousand i put one  

btc and i would click on sell and when it gets  to that level i make two thousand five hundred  

dollars or two thousand six hundred dollars if i  buy at this level we can also do stop limits so  

we click on stop limit and here we can say okay  if this uh if this goes down to like forty nine  

thousand eight hundred and seventy seven dollars  then i wanna stop it out so if it goes to forty  

nine thousand eight hundred seventy seven i can  do a stop loss as well so that's on a long or a  

spot trade okay that's how we do it so the exact  opposite is how to do a short it's literally the  

exact opposite so here we're thinking bitcoin is  going to go higher we buy it at 51. we sell it at  

54. we make 2 500 right and we also set a stop  loss so if it goes lower then we have to stop  

the trade because it might keep going lower and  we don't want to lose all of our capital right  

so our risk is already baked in the same thing  when we go to derivatives so you're going to  

click on up here you're going to go to click  usddm futures the futures market is basically  

a derivative so it's not actually real bitcoin  you're going and you're predicting that bitcoin  

is going to go down or its bitcoin is going to go  up now normally when we do a spot trade it's all  

long so it's all green right we buy at that price  we buy long and we wait and we sell it at 54 right  

well you can do the opposite and that's called  shorting so shorting is i think the price is  

going to go down so i can short the price and if  the price goes from 51 600 and comes down to 48  

i will make profit as it goes down and sell  lower than i bought it that's how we do it  

we're actually going to buy a short as it goes  down so that's why you see buy and sell long and  

short so how it works is this if i think of 54  000 bitcoin is going to drop so it's gonna get  

to my 618 retracement and it's gonna drop so i see  that let's say i want to put one bitcoin in there  

so it's the same thing a limit order fifty four  thousand one bitcoin is going to normally we'd say  

long this time we're gonna short so short means  that it hits 54 it opens a short of one bitcoin  

so fifty four thousand dollars short one bitcoin  short if bitcoin drops down to 50 000 i will have  

made four thousand dollars but instead of selling  we have to buy long so at 50 000 i would click  

buy long and i would close that i could do that  with 0.5 btc and close half i can do that with  

0.25 bts and close up 25 etc but i have the choice  to say okay it hits that level i'm gonna sell  

i'll make two thousand dollars profit and then i'm  gonna move my stop loss okay so there's your buy  

and there's your sell how do you do a stop loss  well on here on the right side you have stop limit  

they also have stock markets stock market is  guaranteed instantaneously will fill you might  

lose a little bit more money than you want  but it's guaranteed you don't get slipped by  

like what happened in march in march if you  had a stock market you would have been okay  

get a stop limit you probably wouldn't have gotten  stopped out and you would have got liquidated  

so just keep that in mind it's safer to do  stock market but it can cost you more money  

they also have trailing stops but we're going to  just focus on stop limit or stop market either  

one works what this means is we get to 54 and it  starts to go higher so let's say at like 54 800  

i want to stop my loss and lose 800 because i  know i'm gonna make four thousand dollars if it  

goes down so i have a good like 3.3 or something  risk to reward ratio that's good i like that we're  

good i'm gonna sell my one bitcoin so now when it  gets there i'm going to again because i'm selling  

short i'm going to buy i'm going to buy the  short back at that level okay so when you short  

to take profit you go by to stop market you on  the buy side you open the short on the right  

you close it on the left so either it's a take  profit or your stop market okay and the other side  

when you go long right so let's say we're going  long right now at um at 51 600 if i buy long i  

would always just sell it right because i'm buying  them long i'm going to sell it at 54 000 and i'm  

going to stock market maybe down here at 50 000 or  or 49 800 i can then go okay i want to sell that  

because i want to get out of it right and  that way i'm gonna get out of that trade  

and take a loss so that's how you do it it  would be like a two to one on that ratio  

that's how you do it so a short basically lets you  do the opposite it lets you take your profit all  

the way on the way down instead of on the way up  and it's basically the same methodology of longing  

but on the reverse side so if we know that we go  up and then we come down to reset and we go up  

we can actually play on those levels all the way  up and every single time it goes up and comes down  

you can make profit the only other thing i would  like to caution you guys is one use isolated on  

here and two use one x leverage do not add 5  x 10x until you're comfortable and understand  

the rules of how do you calculate your stop how  much risk do you put in portrayed and that you  

don't add risk with adding on multiples so you  should not be risking five thousand dollars if  

you're supposed to risk one because you put a  5x for example so you need to know that first so
