in this video we'll post the question what is聽 Forex scalping and even give a few suggestions聽聽
[14]
as to how you can go about building a Forex聽 scalping system in order to understand what聽聽
[21]
it is you need to understand what the actual聽 term scalping means when you are looking to聽聽
[27]
scalp the market you are looking for short term聽 trades sometimes lasting just a few moments or聽聽
[35]
possibly even seconds so with that you aren't聽 worried about economic conditions or fundamental聽聽
[44]
analysis you were worried about places that you聽 may or may not see momentum in the market you're聽聽
[50]
just looking for places to pick up a few pips in聽 order to be an effective scalper you need to get聽聽
[57]
in and out of the market rather quickly this is聽 because you are looking for a quick game taking聽聽
[62]
advantage of this little part pockets of liquidity聽 in the market which do show up from time to time聽聽
[69]
they're basically spaces of thin air once you get聽 good at reading charts you concern to recognize聽聽
[75]
supporting resistance support the micro support聽 and micro resistance that also show up on the聽聽
[87]
charts which is probably more important for the聽 scalper so why would somebody become a scalper聽聽
[95]
well there's a multitude of reasons why they may聽 do it not the Lisa wish is that it's much safer聽聽
[100]
to be in and out of the market than it is to hang聽 on to a trade a long term position could possibly聽聽
[107]
even lose money overnight as you sleep if you are聽 hanging on or for that matter just a trade of a聽聽
[115]
few hours they're looking to pick up little bits聽 and pieces of profit along the way many scalpers聽聽
[121]
will point out the fact that they are simply聽 small fish and a large ocean referring to the聽聽
[127]
larger institutions out there in that sense they聽 are a bit afraid of going up against these large聽聽
[133]
and to shion's but also know that they have an聽 advantage in the sense that they can get in out聽聽
[137]
rather easily they're not putting so much into聽 the market so it's easy to take it back out they聽聽
[142]
are going to be much more nimble both entering and聽 exiting as a result the thing about scalping knows聽聽
[152]
it takes extreme concentration and discipline聽 it's not something that you just do on a whim聽聽
[157]
it takes concentration and it is something that聽 takes quite a bit of skill quite frankly scalping聽聽
[165]
is not something that traders should do until聽 they have quite a bit of screen time in front of聽聽
[169]
them having said that you can always use a demo聽 account as a great way to practice in real-life聽聽
[175]
conditions that is probably the most important聽 piece of advice you will hear perhaps even more聽聽
[184]
important though than the screen time is to have聽 discipline when trading if you're in a losing聽聽
[191]
trade you need to get out sooner rather than later聽 this is because if you are not quick to take your聽聽
[197]
losses they can compound rather quickly this is聽 because quite often scalping is done with larger聽聽
[202]
positions so therefore I can compound against you聽 rather quickly speaking of which you need to trade聽聽
[209]
with the discipline to trade in manageable sizes聽 remember as a scalper you're looking to trade a聽聽
[216]
little micro movement not something that is聽 developing over the longer term meaning that聽聽
[220]
the slightest little deviation in monetary flow聽 can cause issues for you your position and your聽聽
[228]
account the first ingredient of a decent scalping聽 market is to find one that won a small spread so聽聽
[237]
this is a euro dollar depending on your broker聽 most of them are about half a pip maybe three聽聽
[244]
tenths of a pip you know this is much better than聽 trying to scalp something that say has a seven pip聽聽
[250]
spread you know you can under you could see how聽 that might be a bit more difficult to overcome you聽聽
[257]
start negative seven pips as soon as you open up聽 the position so there's a couple different little聽聽
[266]
simple ways that traders will scalp the market聽 and needless to say there's an unlimited amount聽聽
[272]
of ways to do it but sometimes simple is better so聽 what they don't quite often do is look for little聽聽
[281]
brick walls and brick walls are places where聽 the market just can't seem to get past so for聽聽
[290]
example here is one right here at this price 108聽 22 now the trader will notice this and then they聽聽
[302]
will wait for the market to break down below it聽 this is a 5-minute chart so we're not looking for聽聽
[306]
massive moves here once they break down below聽 these three candlesticks you can see that the聽聽
[313]
market went as low as a pip lower bounced back聽 and then made a bigger move now where they take聽聽
[323]
profit they'll look for perhaps another brick wall聽 like right here for example you can see that there聽聽
[331]
was definitely a brick wall there so they got a聽 pip or two and then got out now obviously that's聽聽
[338]
very tight risk to reward ratio so they may do聽 something like put a stop loss here and then aim聽聽
[346]
for maybe a bigger area where the buyers came in聽 and really took over since they're shorting and聽聽
[355]
then scenario there's a multitude of ways they may聽 look for it but there are a lot of wicks through聽聽
[360]
this area here you can see that they eventually聽 got that move that's still only a 5 pip move聽聽
[366]
it's not a huge move so keep that in mind you are聽 talking about little tiny movements these little聽聽
[376]
brick walls occur all the time you could see that聽 there's one there and what you really like to see聽聽
[384]
is something like this you can see that there's聽 two little wicks there but there's three can't or聽聽
[389]
five candles excuse me in a row and once we broke聽 above it all the way over here you can see that we聽聽
[395]
shot up several pips well think about it if you聽 have the he's marked on a chart this five-minute聽聽
[403]
chart shows that you may have been waiting two or聽 three hours for that to actually kick off it's not聽聽
[408]
necessarily something that happens right away聽 there's also something known as a round number聽聽
[414]
phenomenon a round number bounce if you will and聽 a lot of times what traders will do is they will聽聽
[420]
look for round figures so in this case we'll just聽 put one point zero nine and you can see this has聽聽
[429]
caused a little bit of support what they'll do is聽 something like put a stop loss five or maybe even聽聽
[436]
10 ticks below and then try to play for a bounce聽 you can see that you got a 10 tick move here took聽聽
[443]
about an hour to get there it's very quiet trading聽 at this moment obviously but you see how this is聽聽
[450]
an area that large institutions come in and they聽 tend to pad these areas at the end of the day聽聽
[460]
the most important thing is that you're going聽 to need to trade in a manner that you're very聽聽
[467]
comfortable with if that's going to be the case聽 then there's a certain amount of psychology and聽聽
[473]
comfort that's needed to be a scalper and that's聽 probably true with any system but especially true聽聽
[480]
with a scalping system even though again it's聽 not a long-term trade you're setting up for it聽聽
[492]
you may be waiting a while for that trade to set聽 up so while scalping is thought of as being really聽聽
[499]
quick it's not necessarily constant action rather聽 it is quicken it in and out when you are active a聽聽
[507]
lot of this is waiting for the right setup so in聽 a bit of irony some of the most patient traders聽聽
[514]
are the successful scalpers which isn't how its聽 presented but that's the reality of the situation聽聽
[522]
use a demo account come up with our ideas of your聽 own and make them their own make sure to test them聽聽
[530]
and then once you have enough confidence in the聽 results you'll be able to scout the market as well
