Honeywell 6160RF: Toggle Chime - YouTube

Channel: Alarm Grid

[3]
hi di wires this is Frank at alarm grid
[6]
we're back in the video lab working on
[9]
the 6160 RF keypad and we're going to be
[13]
showing you how to toggle chime today so
[15]
the chime feature is a feature that
[18]
allows you to set up your door windows
[21]
motions whatever contacts or sensors you
[24]
have programmed to your system you can
[27]
enable them to initiate a chime or a
[30]
little audio tone out of your keypads
[33]
when they're open or faulted so I'm
[36]
going to show you how to do this on the
[37]
6160 RF so we're going to swing down the
[41]
door here now the only thing you need to
[44]
toggle chime is your master user code
[46]
not to be confused with the installer
[49]
code which by default is four one one
[51]
two the master code is one two three
[54]
four and by default we always recommend
[58]
changing that so if you're just setting
[59]
up your system and you still have things
[62]
set on default then you can use the
[64]
one-two-three-four code which we have
[66]
set in our lab just to keep things
[68]
simple but yours is probably different
[71]
so just figure out whatever that master
[73]
code is and use that to toggle the chime
[77]
so it's a really easy thing would be a
[79]
quick video here today we have we're
[82]
going to enter one two three four
[84]
followed by nine which says chime on it
[88]
makes it a little easier to remember and
[91]
it'll say disarm chime right on the
[93]
keypad now if you have a fixed english
[97]
keypad then it'll it'll actually just
[99]
write a little chime tone text on it it
[102]
won't actually read out like this but
[106]
this is a rule for any of the honeywell
[109]
vista compatible keypads so the sixty
[112]
one fifty sixty one fifty to sixty one
[115]
fifty v sixty one fifty fifty RF and
[118]
then all the sixty one sixty models so
[121]
the sixty one sixty 6160v
[123]
sixteen sixty RF which is the keypad
[125]
were working on now and then the 61 62
[128]
RF as well so as well as a regular 61 62
[132]
so all of the 61 15s and
[135]
CSeries keypads simply enter your master
[138]
code which is we have is one two three
[141]
four and then nine now you'll notice
[145]
that when I entered it again now now the
[148]
chime is disabled so it's a toggle in
[151]
the sense that anytime you enter it
[154]
it'll change the opposite position so if
[156]
the chime is off it'll turn it on if
[159]
it's on and we'll turn it off one thing
[161]
to be cognizant on if you do have chime
[163]
enabled if you ever power cycle your
[166]
panel or lose power or you go in and out
[169]
of programming anytime you reset the
[172]
memory on the panel the chime will be
[174]
disabled so what I can show you here
[177]
right now we have the chime disabled
[180]
I'll go ahead and enable it one more
[182]
time it'll show disarmed chime I'm now
[186]
going to programming using the installer
[188]
code followed by 800 again we have the
[192]
installer code still at the default four
[193]
one one two and now I'll do star nine
[196]
nine to exit out of programming now
[200]
before when I when I entered programming
[202]
the chime was enabled okay so now you
[206]
can see it's disabled that's an example
[208]
of some of something that would reset
[210]
the memory and disable the chime
[213]
automatically you would just what once
[215]
you notice that you can just enter your
[217]
master code followed by nine and enable
[220]
the chime again so reboots and and
[223]
entering exiting out of programming are
[225]
going to reset that memory and disable
[227]
the shine automatically just re-enable
[230]
it just by the simple code plus the nine
[233]
key and that will enable the chime now
[236]
this is a global chime so we're not
[238]
going to get into too much detail on the
[241]
star twenty six chime by zone setting we
[244]
can do it in a future video but that is
[247]
a setting that by default is disabled
[249]
meaning that you won't be able to set
[253]
specific zones to chime but this would
[255]
be kind of a global chime so any of your
[257]
doors and windows that are programmed in
[259]
the system they'll set to be chime - to
[261]
chime when they're faulted you can
[263]
disable the chime globally and keep it
[264]
like that or enable them globally
[266]
meaning all of them when
[268]
they open and close they'll trip they'll
[270]
chime at the keypad if it's if it's on
[272]
if you wanted to set them independently
[274]
you can you can set go into programming
[277]
and enable the star 26 chime by zone now
[281]
we're good we'll do a different video on
[283]
that because it is a little complicated
[284]
with a few fields involved and then once
[287]
you enable that you have to assign
[288]
specific zones to a zone list in submenu
[293]
where you can choose specific zones to
[295]
chime we'll get into that in another
[296]
video for now I just wanted to show you
[298]
how to toggle chime on your keypad and
[300]
kind of go over the tips around how to
[303]
reset or to be sure to reset after you
[306]
enter your next programming or reboot
[308]
your system so if you have any further
[309]
questions on on your keypad chime
[313]
settings you can email us at support at
