[7]
eMembership provides the capability to process payment from your members.
[15]
Payments are organzied by batch, you can have more than one batch pre day.
[22]
You can also seperate batches by account, where account is just a way to organize information
[32]
in a way that is easy to separate from an accounting point of view and can also be used
[37]
to separate checks between dues and other sorts of contributions for example.
[44]
Let's take a look at an example.
[47]
I am going to create a batch for $100.
[53]
The $100 I'm entering came from a separate tally of the checks and will be used as a
[60]
check sum on my data entry.
[66]
Once the batch is created, I can begin to enter member payments.
[73]
eMembership uses a type ahead to help you in identifying the member you are interested
[79]
in entering a check for.
[82]
Once I select the member, I can then pick the type of payment.
[86]
which can include checks or credit cards, optionally a reference number and then the
[92]
amount.
[101]
Once the amount is entered, one of the other characteristics of eMembership is that, that
[111]
payment will be applied to any outstanding amounts that the member may have.
[118]
Also it will be possible that payments made in advance or overpayments or payments that
[125]
are made for other purposes to simply create a credit for future use.
[132]
As you can see, the amounts are calculated in advance by eMembership, but you have the
[138]
opportunity to change them if so desired.
[142]
In this case for example, I can move all of the payments from dues to initiation if that
[149]
is the purpose for which the member had submitted their payment.
[163]
At this point, it is also possible to be able to look at various reports, in this case we
[170]
have only one member, typically their would be multiple.
[175]
Batch reports show us what is basically a check registar with where the amounts were
[183]
allocated on a very general basis.
[186]
And in this case for example, we can see that $64 went to quarterly dues and $26 to initiation
[195]
and $10 to a late fee.
[200]
We can also print receipts.
[206]
Receipts are customized to include your specific information and can be set up in any way that
[215]
suits your business requirements.
[222]
Receipts can be printed or as an optional feature eMembership will allow you to email
[228]
them to your members instead if the checks were in fact received through the mail.
[238]
This is eMembership's payment processing facility.
