have your own schedule but saving secret

number one is know that target follows

one of the most rigid markdown schedules

of any retailer it's not like someone
[68]
just goes through the aisle deciding
[70]
what they're going to markdown or Target

takes a look at what hasn't sold online

they follow a very regimented clearance

schedule and it's as follows

on Mondays target marks down their
[79]
electronics accessories kid clothing
[81]
books baby items and stationery Tuesday
[85]
they marked down any of the domestics
[87]
women clothing pet products as well as
[89]
food items throughout the store and then
[92]
on Wednesday well it's all about home
[94]
furnishings clothing health beauty
[98]
products and diapers are marked down
[101]
separately keep in mind the baby items
[103]
as a whole or on Monday but the diapers
[106]
are dropped in price on Wednesday that
[109]
leads to some confusion Thursdays we
[112]
generally see markdowns on lingerie

Sporting Goods luggage deals or on

Thursday as well and Friday the best

clearance deals are generally auto

Hardware and jewelry that means if you

are shopping on the weekend you're not

actually picking a great data shop

you're getting the leftovers from all of

those respective days so for example if

the electronics are marked down

Monday and you're shopping on the

weekend you're getting the worst of the

leftover from that category before

target returns to add more items to its

new clearance set of deals on the Monday

Sunday would probably be the worst day

of the week for that respective category

so keep that in mind work with that

is I'm going to show you the most

important number on the tag and it's the

number in the top right hand corner not
[156]
the price why is this so important well
[158]
if you look at all of the things that
[159]
people have circled this number
[161]
represents the markdown of the specific
[164]
product that you're looking at this tag
[166]
right here that has a 50 is letting you
[167]
know that your item has been marked down
[169]
by 50%
[170]
this one is letting you know that your
[171]
product has been marked down by 70% and
[174]
you may say well who cares why does that
[178]
matter I don't need to do math it's a
[180]
markdown and the advice I'm dispensing
[182]
is many of the items are supposed to be
[185]
reduced to a specific price but there
[187]
are many arithmetic errors target may
[190]
intend to mark an item down by 70% and
[193]
based on that price that you see in the
[195]
top right hand corner of your tag that's
[196]
supposed to be a 70% markdown but if you
[199]
look at the before and the after price
[200]
they don't always correlate target's not
[202]
trying to deceive you they're not trying
[204]
to do anything wrong there's just a lot
[206]
of mathematical errors that are passed
[208]
along to the consumers sometimes the
[210]
list price is wrong from the
[211]
manufacturer that MSRP but regardless
[214]
watch out for that number on the top
[216]
right hand corner of the tag those are
[218]
the ones that you need to pay attention
[220]
to the next trick I'm going to show you

is saving secret number three and this
[225]
is about a numbers game of a different
[227]
type just because everything on
[228]
clearance or markdown has a specific
[231]
reduction how do you know if you're
[232]
actually getting the lowest best price
[234]
that target has to offer let's take a
[237]
look at their web pricing just as an
[238]
example generally any item that ends in
[241]
zero zero is full price so if you see a
[244]
product that ends in zero zero or ninety
[248]
nine you are generally paying full price
[250]
for the product now you might say to
[252]
yourself well that doesn't make sense
[253]
when I go online and I shop I see plenty
[255]
of items that show up as $19.99 or
[258]
and in a zero and they are on sale what
[261]
I'm trying to tell you is yeah they're
[263]
reduced but they're not clearance deals
[265]
so keep in mind that if you are trying
[268]
to shop clearance there's a whole deal
[269]
section which can still have you paying
[271]
full price at Target it's not solely the
[274]
deals we want its the clearance section
[276]
and those clearance deals that we need
[278]
to know about so here's where the rest

of the numbers come into play prices

that end in eight eight nine eight four
[284]
eight two four or four are all clearance
[288]
items items that end in four nine and
[291]
four four are generally final clearance
[295]
products so if you see something like a
[297]
four nine or a four four those are
[299]
generally clearance products you're
[301]
going to find many different target

blogs and target vlogs and target
[305]
YouTube videos that give you slightly
[308]
different information and I've tried to
[309]
figure out how is this possible is this
[311]
information outdated are different
[312]
communities seeing different reductions
[314]
I spoke into some different target
[316]
employees I've telephone different
[317]
stores and the answer is that this is an
[319]
updated set of numbers that I'm in
[321]
parting with you right now it can change
[323]
but based on everything that happened
[324]
and the communities over the course of
[326]
the last couple of months a lot of those
[328]
pricing structures that we see are being
[330]
adjusted people are now generally always
[332]
looking for a deal and always looking
[334]
for a sale so things are going to be
[335]
permanently reduced but not always on
[337]
clearance so that's what you need to
[338]
know when it comes to those markdowns

also keep in mind and this is

information that I just received from

former employee the best clearance deals

are in the electronics toy clothing
[348]
shoes and home goods sections for this
[351]
upcoming season so that's where you're
[352]
going to find some great deals as you're
[354]
saving secret number for saving secret

number five beyond the refurbished and

the used and the clearance there's
[362]
something else that target marks down

regularly in their stores and it's

called a repackaged deal so I've just

again tried to pull up some repackaged
[371]
items I haven't purchased one recently

but you look this is an example of a

repackaged tag this says repackaged

right here and these are all deals that

are generally exclusive to a specific

store and some of the best reductions

you will see in that specific place how

do these exist why do these exist

sometimes items are dented

they're being moved within the store

itself and sometimes there's been an

issue in the distribution with the truck

sometimes packages are removed in bad

weather something stains or smears with

rain there spills there's things that

get marked up significantly while the

item inside is in no way affected so

target will repackage a lot of these
[409]
items or sometimes adjust the packaging

I've actually seen tape used in a couple

of occasions of all some type of glue

but for a lot of the deals you're going

to find it is well worth it so look for

that yellow or sometimes red repackage

Christmas and the holidays so in the

days that follow Christmas rather than

days of the week tip that I was giving

full percentage off each day so the day

after Christmas our markdowns begin at

50% then all of the categories that are

being reduced see a 75% collective

reduction and it goes all the way from

75% generally to 90% by day three and

day five what does that matter to you

well if you see something that has the

90 percent markdown on it that's
[469]
generally the lowest a product will ever

be sold for at Target so that is savings

seven is don't worry about getting a

circular everything you can find is on

line complete with coupons if you go to

a specific URL which I'll be happy to
