GREAT returns with SMALL investments! - YouTube

Channel: unknown

[0]
Hi, everyone. Welcome to today's video.
[2]
So in today's video, I am going to cover the topic of how you
[5]
can invest small amounts to make big gains.
[9]
Now a lot of students reach out to me that hey, akshat.
[12]
I'm in College.
[12]
A lot of young professionals reach out to me yet.
[15]
I have just started my job and I want
[17]
to invest small amounts like Rs1000, RS5000, Rs10,000.
[21]
So where can I go and invest A for really high gains?
[26]
Right.
[26]
I'm okay taking more risk, but I want high gains.
[28]
So please discuss that option.
[30]
And B, I want to invest from a safe perspective.
[33]
Also, some bit of this investment.
[35]
I want to do it from a safer side.
[37]
So please discuss both these options. Great.
[39]
I'm going to do that precisely on this video.
[41]
Please listen to this video in entirety.
[44]
Otherwise it does not make sense because
[45]
I'll discuss just one part of the option you will see.
[48]
Ok, great. This is awesome.
[50]
I'm going to put all my money in this. Please don't do that.
[52]
Please understand the risk return profile.
[55]
That is what I am going to predominantly discuss about.
[57]
So I am going to discuss two options on the both side of the spectrum.
[61]
And if time permits, I will also discuss a medium risk option.
[64]
Okay, so let me start with an option
[66]
that is relatively safe for investing small capital.
[69]
Okay, so the option's name is called as Bond IPO investing.
[78]
Now what is meant by bond IPO investing?
[80]
And why is it important?
[81]
So bond IPO investing works very similar to stock IPO investing.
[85]
For example, recently PayTM launched its IPO policy with our launch its IPO.
[90]
So you applied via your trading account,
[92]
for example, zerodha, and you got allocation of those stock IPOs.
[95]
Now bond IPOs also work in a similar manner.
[98]
Now you would say, okay, what is the benefit of applying in bond IPOs?
[102]
So just very quickly explaining what bond
[104]
IPOs are through bond IPO, you get to invest in bonds.
[107]
Right.
[108]
So that's the first key concept that you need to understand.
[110]
What are bonds?
[111]
There are two types of financing that a company can undertake.
[114]
For example, ITC can sell its stocks,
[117]
that is, stocks, financing or equity financing for ITC.
[121]
Similarly, ITC can launch its own corporate bonds.
[124]
So bond is taking a loan.
[126]
The company is not selling,
[127]
its equity company is taking money on loan, that is via bonds.
[130]
So governments also do it.
[132]
I had made a separate video.
[133]
You can check it here somewhere.
[134]
I have explained the basics of bond investing and you can understand it more.
[138]
Now, what is the benefit of bond investing?
[141]
Relatively speaking, bonds are safer compared to equities.
[145]
Now, why is that?
[145]
Because as a bondholder in a company sells you, it's bond.
[149]
You become a bondholder.
[150]
What ends up happening is that let's say ITC.
[153]
If it goes bankrupt for some reason, then
[157]
bondholders, they get the first allocation of liquidation.
[162]
So let's say that ITC if it goes bankrupt
[164]
for some weird reason, then ITC's assets will be liquidated.
[168]
For example, it has factories so that will be liquidated, it will be sold off.
[171]
Similarly, it has some really good machinery so that will be sold off.
[175]
So whatever money is coming.
[176]
So let's say that they were able to recover.
[178]
Let's say 5000 crore in terms of selling factories, lands.
[181]
And whatnot then?
[182]
This is called as liquidation process and bondholders get the first dip.
[186]
So therefore bonds are safer compared to equity, equity holders or shareholders.
[191]
They get the last dibs in terms of the liquidation money that is coming in.
[195]
And therefore if you invest in bonds,
[197]
it is technically safer compared to equities.
[200]
Now, problem with bond investing is that bond investing is expensive, right.
[204]
The quantum of money that is required
[206]
to invest in bonds is usually high, so that can lead to problems.
[210]
So if you check my last video, I had spoken about a bond where
[213]
the investment amount was two lakh rupees, which was really high.
[216]
So you would say, except I want to explore this option.
[220]
I want to invest my money,
[221]
but I don't have that type of money to invest right off the bat.
[224]
So what should I do? I want to explore this bond round.
[226]
So what you can do is that you can go on golden pie.
[229]
This is an excellent platform for retail investors to invest in bond.
[232]
It is India's number one platform right now.
[234]
So if you go on collection tab and if you
[237]
take a look at best ongoing IPO, you will see edelweiss and you take a look at it.
[242]
And here the investment amount is very small.
[245]
Right. 10,000 is the minimum investment amount.
[247]
And if you are working with small amount
[249]
of capital, this is a good investment option from that perspective.
[253]
Now let us study the semantics of it.
[255]
So for example, here you will get 9.7 per annum as the yield.
[259]
Right. And this is the entire schedule.
[261]
For example, here you will pay monthly
[263]
investment of 10,000 for ten installments and then you will start receiving money.
[268]
Right. So initially you will get coupon payments.
[270]
That is, you will only receive interest every year.
[273]
For example, in 2022,
[275]
you will receive in February rs77.5. This is the interest, right.
[279]
And you will keep on receiving the interest after interest after
[281]
interest, and then subsequently, when the maturity of the bond takes place
[285]
when the bonds get mature, which is Jan 2032.
[289]
This is where you will receive the face
[290]
value, all the money that you are already invested.
[292]
So you will get the principal payment
[294]
towards the end and a bunch of coupon yields up to the point of maturity.
[298]
Now you'd say that they have complicated the math too much.
[301]
Does it make sense? Yes, it does make sense.
[302]
If you compare it with a fixed deposit,
[304]
you can directly go and compare it with fixed deposit rates also,
[307]
and it categorically say that your overall yield will be 9.7%.
[311]
But if you would have done a simple bank
[313]
deposit bank FD, then 5.4% would have been the FD rate as per current standards.
[318]
So on an investment of ten lakhs,
[320]
you could have earned 2.15 lakh more in a period of five years.
[324]
Now there are other details that you can take a look at how risky the asset is.
[328]
So this is a double A rating asset which is pretty good.
[331]
This is a safer instrument to invest in.
[333]
Risk profile is not that high.
[335]
Therefore, the returns are not that high.
[337]
Also, it is somewhat higher than an FD, which is great.
[340]
Is it more safe than an FD?
[341]
The answer is no because this is corporate debt, right?
[344]
In technical terms, this is called as debentures.
[346]
Now, debentures are issued by private
[348]
organizations and bond is issued by public organizations.
[351]
That is the general difference.
[352]
Now, there are other details that you can check.
[354]
For example, the seniority.
[355]
In case of a default, the bondholder will be considered senior for the payment.
[359]
That simply means that in case
[361]
a liquidation happens, then these bondholders will get money first.
[364]
Right. So if everything fits well with your risk
[367]
profile, with the amount of investment that you want to make,
[370]
you just simply need to click on Apply IPO now and you have to fill out all the other
[375]
necessary details, the total quantum of investment that you
[378]
need to make and you will get invested in this particular bond.
[381]
So you can check the links in the description box.
[383]
I'll post these links so you can go and check it out.
[385]
Now you would say Akshat awesome.
[387]
You have taught us about bond safe investing, responsible investing.
[391]
But you know what? I'm like a risky guy, right?
[393]
So tell me where I can make more money, where I can just go and invest 1000.
[397]
And I can turn that into 10,000 and I don't even want to wait for ten years.
[401]
I can turn this 1000 into 10,000 in a very quick span of time.
[405]
And I'm not talking about chit funds
[407]
and Malamaal weekly type of schemes and all that stuff I'll give you sensible option.
[411]
Is this option risky?
[412]
Yes, because it involves a lot of reward
[415]
and I will tell you how to mitigate your risk.
[417]
Please watch it from an education point of view.
[419]
And please don't consider this as an investment advice.
[421]
This is risky stuff, right? Okay.
[423]
So what option am I talking about?
[425]
I'm talking about ICOs initial coin offerings.
[428]
At the moment, I say the word crypto.
[430]
Half of you will run away.
[431]
So please watch it. It's a humble request.
[433]
Please watch it.
[434]
Because this is something interesting that is happening.
[436]
If you spend five minutes watching it, it can stay with you forever.
[439]
Right?
[439]
So just understand it from that perspective.
[442]
Let me first and foremost show you the gains.
[444]
Okay, so what do. I mean by ICOs.
[445]
Now ICOs work very similar to how IPOs work in the stock market.
[450]
When a company wants to get listed on NSE or BSE, what do they do?
[454]
They launch an IPO, right?
[455]
Recently Zomato launched it.
[457]
paytm launched it and a bunch of different
[459]
companies launched it and they got listed on NSE and BSE.
[461]
Their stocks started trading similarly
[463]
in the crypto world, if some coins or some projects have to get listed on different
[468]
exchanges, we have to go through a process called an ICO initial coin offering.
[473]
Now the magic part about ICO is this right?
[476]
And let me show this to you via an example.
[478]
Now, this is a list of some listed coins.
[480]
And if I Scroll all the way through,
[482]
you will see a bunch of different different coins.
[484]
Everyone knows about Bitcoin Ethereum.
[486]
I'm not going to talk about it.
[487]
I'm going to show you some really unknown coins.
[490]
So let me go on something like 426 ranked coin and this is called as bit shares.
[495]
So in terms of market cap, bit shares is ranked at 426.
[499]
So let me show you the pricing history of this.
[503]
What you will see is that the coin got listed here somewhere on 26 August 2014.
[509]
It got listed.
[511]
It traded for a couple of years or two, three years and then it skyrocketed.
[515]
The price literally grew from .01 to point
[519]
26 approximately 26 times gain in a matter of three years.
[523]
Right now you can share this took three years.
[525]
Let me show you some of the random coins.
[527]
Let me show you Komodo right now.
[529]
Here what happened is that here the coin got listed here.
[531]
The ICO happened sometime in February 2017
[535]
and coin making it speak in December, right?
[537]
Roughly ten months. What was the game?
[539]
So we started somewhere around .07 and we hit almost $11.
[544]
I can't even compute it.
[546]
It's manifold returns.
[547]
So $1 is definitely turning into $100.
[549]
If you would have invested in such IPOs.
[551]
Now I'm not hand picking it right.
[553]
You can do this analysis yourself in the crypto world.
[556]
When I go to get launched, there will always be a peak close to the peak.
[559]
The prices might tank.
[561]
But there is a massive run up and we
[562]
should take advantage of this run up if you are speculating.
[565]
Of course. Again putting up the Disclaimer.
[567]
This is risky proposition.
[568]
I am not advocating this style of investing, but I'm simply telling you
[572]
that a lot of people come to me and they say that you know what akshat?
[574]
Should we invest in IPO? Should we invest in Penny stocks? Should we invest here?
[578]
Should we invest there? You're trying to speculate.
[580]
So I'm just telling you a better method to speculate.
[582]
If you want to take risk and reap excellent rewards.
[585]
It is risky, but the returns are also very high.
[587]
That is committed with the risk.
[589]
So if you want to invest like 0.5% of your portfolio on such speculative investment.
[594]
It is fun from that perspective, but just take it as fun.
[597]
Do not consider this as an investment advice.
[599]
I am saying it over and over and over again.
[602]
Important point being that if you do this analysis of ICO growth,
[606]
that our point gets listed, it hits a high and then it starts falling.
[610]
Take advantage of that, hitting a high.
[612]
Now how do you invest in an ICO?
[614]
I'll have to make a separate video on that in case you want.
[616]
I can talk about more.
[618]
I'm talking about research today.
[619]
So what you can do is that there is a website called as ICOdrops.
[622]
Com. So you can go to that.
[624]
This shows a list of active ICO upcoming ICOs ended ICOs.
[628]
So these have recently ended.
[629]
For example, Souni ended on 5th December 4 December.
[632]
All that stuff right now.
[634]
Whichever active ICOs are there, you can go and start researching more about it.
[638]
How to do an ICO Research again. Let me know.
[640]
In case you want me to make a video on that, I'll be happy to do it.
[643]
But if you end up analyzing good ICOs and if you are able to take small bets,
[648]
even if you invest, let's say Rs1000 on it.
[650]
It can definitely turn into 50,000 easily. Right.
[653]
From that perspective, it's really fun, but also do it with the intent that hey,
[657]
you can lose that Rs1000 again saying it over and over and over again.
[661]
Please do not consider this as an investment advice.
[664]
I'm just teaching you whatever new stuff
[666]
is also coming out in finance, it is important for me to put out
[669]
that information so that you can study it and take advantage of it.
[672]
Okay. So if you analyze all these active ICOs,
[675]
you have to go and study it cost and then take bets on it.
[679]
But let me show you two, three more magical things.
[681]
For example, these are recent ICOs.
[683]
Now, this is super recent.
[684]
This is in December.
[685]
So I'm trying to find ICOs and have a recent price history.
[689]
Right. So these were launched not too long ago,
[691]
but also these are not like Super Super recent also.
[694]
So let me take a look at any random points
[696]
and let me show you the price history around it.
[698]
So let me pick up Cryowar. Right.
[700]
So the metaverse narrative is picking up
[702]
and Cryowar is an NFT play, and it I showed on 12th November 2021.
[706]
Right.
[707]
So let us just quickly go and look at the performance of Cryowar.
[710]
So here is the entire price action for Cryowar, and it got listed in mid
[715]
November and by end of November it creates.
[718]
Right. So $1 became $3.
[719]
If you would have put Rs1000,
[721]
it would have become Rs3000 within less than a month.
[724]
So it already made a peak.
[725]
Then it started falling. Right.
[726]
So you need to understand the point that get out of the ICO once it has had
[731]
enough so very important concept for you to understand what ICOs are.
[735]
This is high risk, high reward strategy.
[737]
It's very OK to invest a little bit
[739]
of money and take bets on it because this can give you really high returns.
[743]
But please do your research in terms of identifying ICOs.
[746]
Now I will make a separate video in case you want how to apply for ICOs.
[750]
I can show you that not a problem, but to apply for ICOs or even before pre
[755]
ICO stage, you need to buy membership of different idea pads so the membership
[759]
is not super expensive depending on the idea pad in which you are investing in.
[763]
But it will cost you a little bit of money.
[765]
So please keep that in mind.
[767]
But I wanted to show you two very different strategies.
[769]
One safe strategy via bond.
[771]
You can use Golden Pies platform to do that.
[773]
Check the link in the description box.
[774]
Wonderful platform, India's number one platform right now.
[777]
And if you're looking for a high risk, high reward type of an equation,
[780]
you can definitely consider applying to ICOs super interesting field right now.
[786]
People are making insane money on it.
[787]
So it is worthwhile to invest a little bit of time in terms of researching it.
[791]
More now comes the final stage. You would see a shirt.
[793]
You have shown two things at completely
[795]
different opposite spectrum, one bond market, one crypto market.
[798]
But I am a stock efficient. What should I do?
[801]
I want to turn my Rs1000 into RS5000 Rs6000.
[804]
What is my strategy?
[805]
Okay, so here I will give you a very quick snippet.
[809]
So your option one is identify Penny stocks and invest in it.
[813]
And hopefully those Penny stocks will become multivariators going forward.
[816]
Should you do it? No, I would rather say that.
[819]
Go with ICO.
[820]
That in my opinion, is safer. Why is that?
[822]
That's a very interesting question, because what happens in stock market is
[826]
that there are players, old players who know how to manipulate stock markets.
[829]
You will get paid right.
[831]
News will come out that bad things will happen.
[833]
So I would not recommend that.
[835]
Second is that in the stock market, what is a better approach is to do
[839]
something called a value buying or deep value buying.
[841]
Now what do I mean by value buying or deep value buying?
[844]
Now, Mr.
[844]
mohnish pabrai is an expert at doing value buying and deep value buying.
[848]
I also sometimes buy some stocks which are value stocks and deep value stocks.
[852]
So let me show that to you. Why?
[853]
An example that I've used in the past, it's a Punjab National Bank.
[857]
If you take a look at the entire price action for Punjab National Bank,
[860]
you will see that the stock has been trading at approximately 41 Rs42 right now
[866]
and in 2018 it used to trade at approximately 200.
[869]
And here we are at one fifth the price.
[872]
Now what you do is that you do a fundamental analysis of this stock.
[875]
For example, you can take a look at what rate as the revenues grown.
[879]
So the revenues are hitting at their all
[881]
time high, the profits are hitting at their all time high.
[885]
And one investor right.
[886]
Let me know in the comment box which investors exist that if the stock
[890]
has its highest revenues and highest profits and its stock prices not trading
[895]
at its highest levels, you should probably go and buy that stock,
[898]
which investors said it has said it multiple times on my videos.
[901]
It will act as a confirmation point for me
[903]
that you are getting value out of my videos.
[905]
You are listening to it, making notes.
[907]
So do drop in your comment on that.
[909]
So this is what I mean by value by and deep value by.
[912]
This is fundamental investing.
[913]
If you learn about it, then of course,
[915]
you can turn your Rs40 into RS200 in a very quick fashion.
[919]
All these are different strategies that I am discussing with you.
[922]
Hopefully you will get value out of it.
[924]
Please slice and dice it as per your
[926]
understanding, as per your investment style, as per your risk capital.
[929]
This is not an investment advice that hey, go invest in option A versus B versus C.
[934]
You need to mix and match, so I hope you enjoyed the video.
[937]
Please give it a thumbs up.
[938]
Share it with your friends and subscribe to this channel.
[940]
I will see you the next time.
[948]
Bye.
