here and today we got some information that聽聽

the nintendo 3ds and wii ue shop are going to聽
be ending and what that means for pokemon bank

yesterday there was an article that came out聽
that says nintendo is going to be closing the 3ds聽聽

and the wii u eshops in 2023. as of may 23rd 2022聽
it will no longer be possible to use a credit card聽聽

to add funds to the eshop for wii u or 3ds and聽
as of august 29 2022 it is no longer possible to聽聽

use a nintendo eshop card to add funds however it聽
is still possible to redeem download codes until聽聽

march 2023 this is similar to how they rolled聽
out the end of the nintendo wii e shop meaning聽聽

that they made it so you can add more funds and聽
then you can't you redeem any more uh eshop cards聽聽

and then eventually the store closed down making聽
some of the software that exists on the platform聽聽

never able to be downloaded again well for聽
pokemon fans that raises one small issue and for聽聽

that we have to go and we need to use a capture聽
card that we haven't used in a very long time聽聽

yep my 3ds capture card wow i have spent so聽
many hours configuring this thing to look good聽聽

and usable truth be told i would have recorded聽
this video last night except it it took like聽聽

three hours for this thing to come back to life聽
you guys remember this one yeah this is a classic聽聽

so if you're not familiar pokemon bank is software聽
that's provided by the pokemon company that聽聽

was a subscription-based service that makes it聽
so that you could pay them i think it's like six聽聽

dollars a year it allows you to transfer pokemon聽
from pokemon x and y omega ruby alpha sapphire sun聽聽

and moon ultra sun ultra moon into pokemon bank聽
which can then be transferred into pokemon home聽聽

via nintendo switch and also came with a聽
piece of software called the poke transporter聽聽

which allows you to import save data from聽
diamond pearl black white black to white to聽聽

yeah the the ds games the poker transporter was聽
used for ds games and pokemon bank was used to聽聽

import those ds games in pokemon transporter into聽
pokemon bank as well as just native 3ds titles聽聽

and then you're able to transfer everything from聽
pokemon bank into pokemon home great this raised聽聽

concerns for pokemon fans immediately as far聽
as what's going to be happening so when the聽聽

nintendo eshop for the 3ds goes offline what's聽
that gonna be march of 2023 about a year and a聽聽

month from now you are not going to be able to聽
download pokemon bank to any new 3ds devices聽聽

that means that if you have a nintendo 3ds or聽
2ds or anything from the 3ds family of systems聽聽

and you try to download any software including聽
pokemon bank and poketransporter you will not聽聽

be able to however if you have pokemon bank and聽
transporter already on a device after the eshop聽聽

goes down pokemon bank is actually going to聽
become free you're not going to have to pay聽聽

the six dollars a year in order to transfer your聽
pokemon to and from pokemon bank and as always聽聽

there was no fee for transporting a limited amount聽
of pokemon from pokemon bank into pokemon home聽聽

however i there's the fee for you know having聽
a whole bunch of storage and pokemon home聽聽

this is the only way to get pokemon from聽
generation one and two wear pokemon red blue聽聽

silver gold crystal all of those things exist聽
on the eshop now and if you don't purchase them聽聽

before 2023 13 months from now you're never going聽
to be able to get this software on a ds again聽聽

through legitimate means as of right now there聽
is no official date on when they plan to bring聽聽

down the pokemon bank servers which is actually聽
what's going to be needed in order to you know聽聽

keep using pokemon bank who knows how long it will聽
be at this time they didn't say if they have any聽聽

plans on bringing the classic pokemon titles to聽
the nintendo switch maybe that's something that聽聽

is going to be released three years down the聽
road pokemon red blue gold silver crystal etc聽聽

maybe that will become part of the nintendo switch聽
online expansion pack if they introduce game boy聽聽

and game boy color games and maybe pokemon home聽

to sort of future proof these titles pokemon red聽
blue and yellow originally went on the eshop for聽聽

the pokemon 20th anniversary six years ago and i聽
think they were eight dollars each and then they聽聽

introduced the gold silver games and i think there聽
was also if you played until the end there was the聽聽

event that you got celebi and then you were able聽
to transfer that through either poke i think it聽聽

was poke transporter was actually used for the聽
game boy and game boy color games they never聽聽

released the third gen games on here right why聽
would they because they already had the remakes聽聽

on on the 3ds oh man i forgot how slow this thing聽
is oh and we have to do a system update of course聽聽

so if you're a content creator and聽
you like to shiny hunt on old systems聽聽

uh i still have my original 3ds here yes聽
this is the one that has the ultra lock on it聽聽

which i don't have the sd card but the sd聽
card is backed up so i would have to get聽聽

that sd card on here for this to function in聽
its current state these things i mean with the聽聽

capture cards they're they're definitely聽
collectors items but nintendo 3ds's that聽聽

have pokemon bank are going to eventually become聽
finite and there's gonna be no official way聽聽

to get that software on a ds if it does not have聽
it it is completely free to download pokemon bank聽聽

it costs zero dollars in the eshop it's聽

so if you have old systems lying around like to聽
future proof i'm going to be taking both of my聽聽

zelda 3ds and i'm going to be downloading pokemon聽
bank on there because the save data is held on聽聽

the cartridge so you can do stuff on a cartridge聽
and then put it in a different 3ds those ones are聽聽

it's the the sixth floor card glitch or something聽聽

but there's a way to change your trainer id to聽
make it match what the trainer id was for the game聽聽

freak distribution for the mew and then there's a聽
way to get mew to spawn in same new glitch as ever聽聽

and then there's a different glitch that聽
you can do in order to change the mu聽聽

stats that would then cause it to be shiny if聽
you ever transferred it over but just a regular聽聽

person not doing any crazy exploits if you try to聽
do the mew glitch now to get mew in these games聽聽

you cannot transfer mew over in fact i'm pretty聽
sure i have a glitched mew in this pokemon red聽聽

and it just doesn't show up in transporter or bank聽

an era poker transporter and pokemon bank you're聽聽

going to have to uh download them to all of your聽
devices if you ever want to use them in the future聽聽

which currently in its current state you do have聽
to pay for it and then march 2023 when you're no聽聽

longer allowed to download them the pokemon bank聽
servers are still going to be online while the聽聽

eshop servers are no longer online so you can't聽

yes on both platforms users will not be able聽聽

to purchase any content on 3ds this includes paid聽
content which plays as passes in software such as聽聽

street pass meet plaza theme shop nintendo badge聽
arcade and bank you will not be able to purchase聽聽

the subscription for bank however pokemon company聽
has said that they are going to make it free so聽聽

you're good to go until you know they decide to聽
