Welcome to the Illinois title instructions when you are buying a

vehicle. Make sure that you don't erase anything you're using white-out. Don't

cross or scratch anything out. Write neatly with good handwriting. Only use

black or blue ink. Use actual names so no nicknames. Don't make mistakes. Any

errors can void the document. alright so you're going to want to make sure that you have a

vehicle title before taking possession of the vehicle. Verify that the vehicle

identification number on the dashboard matches the number printed on the title.

If there are any liens shown on the front of the title they must be released.

The normal practice for this is if the is for the lien holder to send the

owner the title after the lien is paid off. So, they're not

supposed to get the title unless they've finished making payments on the car and

it's totally paid. The status of liens can be back

checked online and a link to that is on the family car buyers website and the

link in the description. ok so next on the front the title there's a block

called assignment of title and that will need to be completed. You'll print

the buyers name and address. Then, you fill in the odometer reading and you

want to enter the mileage exactly as it appears on the odometer. Do not include

tenths. If the odometer does not reflect actual

miles on the car, then the box is checked that says "the odometer reading

is not the actual mileage" warning odometer discrepancy.

then seller signs their name or names online provided and prints their name or

names on the line there. Make sure that the name or names are

printed exactly as they appear on the upper part of the title below owner's

name(s) and address.

If there's more than one registered owner, they will have to be squeezed in.

and make sure you don't use any short names or nicknames. and lastly for that

when there's two registered owners listed on the title, the signatures and

printed names of both registered owners are required to sell the vehicle

then the buyer signs and prints their name or names on that lin.e and you don't

want to make any entries on the back. and the seller will keep the license

plates and then you'll need to apply for a new title and registration. You can do
