Channel: Ryan Hogue Passive Income
[0]
what's up guys today marks the end of
[2]
the first quarter of 2021 how crazy is
[5]
that
[5]
like let that set in for a second the
[7]
first quarter of 2021
[8]
is already over how far along are you
[12]
with your to-do list if you're not that
[14]
far along
[15]
i'm not trying to be like ryan the life
[17]
coach but seriously like it's your life
[19]
as far as we know we only get one of
[21]
them whatever's important to you
[23]
set some time aside and do just that
[25]
with no
[26]
distractions that's what i want to
[28]
challenge you to do in the second
[29]
quarter of 2021 and just chip away at
[32]
your goals
[32]
anyways back to why you're here today
[34]
i'm gonna do my march 2021
[36]
income report i'm going to show you how
[38]
much money i made from my amazon fba
[40]
amazon merch amazon kdp businesses
[42]
my non-amazon merch print on demand
[44]
business
[45]
and my google ads so let's get started
[49]
[Music]
[51]
real quick just wanted to remind you i
[52]
run a weekly print on demand giveaway
[54]
this week sponsored by
[55]
flying research print-on-demand research
[57]
tools automate pod

[60]
automation and all american graphics
[62]
premium pre-made
[63]

[66]

[67]
link in the description also in the
[68]
description you can find a link to my 8
[70]
day print on demand mini course
[72]
as well as some of my other free mini
[73]
courses delivered via email
[75]
and i have a ryan's method passive
[78]
income facebook group if you guys want
[79]
to join that'll be awesome all right
[81]
let's get started with this income
[82]
report let's take a look at each
[84]
individual income stream
[86]
talk a little bit about it and then at
[87]
the end bring them all together so my
[88]
amazon fba business i did 579 sales
[91]
bringing in 14
[93]
928 in revenue 3500 was
[97]
profit and my gross margin was 23
[100]
so this isn't a great month for my fba
[102]
business
[103]
relative to previous months um i mean
[105]
definitely i think i average at least
[107]
five to six k profit a month but
[109]
unfortunately i am running very low
[111]
or am out of inventory on a lot of
[113]
products and one thing that's been
[115]
consistent
[116]
from various suppliers that don't know
[117]
each other right like i can work with
[119]
different suppliers for different
[120]
products and
[121]
uh they all seem to be running into
[123]
supply chain issues with raw materials
[125]
for instance one supplier
[128]
you know to their credit they are one of
[129]
the slowest suppliers that i work with
[131]
like typically it'll take them a month
[132]
and a half to create my orders
[134]
which is not normal in my experience
[136]
with other suppliers it'll
[138]
typically be like a month or less but
[140]
they're taking like almost four months
[142]
it's three and a half roughly by their
[145]
by their newest estimate
[146]
to produce an order that really like
[148]
isn't that many units it's not like a
[150]
massive order where there's so much raw
[152]
material required
[153]
uh and they just keep pushing it back
[155]
and like that product
[156]
i sell it like a 35 profit margin and
[159]
it's been out of stock i mean i didn't
[160]
make a single sale of it in the month of
[161]
march
[162]
so things like that definitely eat away
[164]
at your um
[165]
your business and it's not ideal um that
[168]
being said
[168]
i'm still able to make you know 3 500
[171]
bucks so not too bad but i will show you
[173]
that my amazon merch profit actually
[177]
jumped ahead of my amazon fba profit
[179]
oops i need to fix this in my blog post
[180]
by the way if you guys want to follow
[181]
along in my blog post i'll put a link to
[183]
it in the description
[184]
i published this on my reinhardt.com
[186]
website so you can see my ad statistics
[188]
here i spent 462 dollars in ads on the
[190]
month
[191]
made 74 orders totaling just under 2 000
[194]
in sales so as far as that goes that's
[196]
pretty good advertising statistics
[198]
i absolutely crushed it though in
[199]
february with
[201]
um with my ad spend like i think i spent
[203]
a hundred dollars more but generated a
[205]
thousand dollars more in sales
[207]
all right let's talk about amazon merch
[209]
so i did 1032 sales
[212]
bringing in aggregate total uh just
[214]
under twenty thousand dollars in revenue
[215]
nineteen thousand five hundred forty
[216]
four
[217]
dollars uh royalty total and this is me
[220]
also lumping in the international
[222]
marketplaces after doing a conversion to
[224]
dollars
[225]
3734 dollars of profit
[228]
royalties generated from my merch by
[230]
amazon business my average royalty was
[232]
three dollars
[233]
and 62 cents so that was a really good
[235]
month i know other people had some
[236]
really good months i've been looking at
[237]
instagram
[238]
a lot of the merch by amazon instagrams
[240]
that i follow are posting huge numbers
[242]
so
[243]
um props to everybody that crushed it in
[245]
march hopefully this is a sign of things
[246]
to come for the rest of the year
[248]
and we can just keep seeing these
[249]
numbers increase during the slow times
[251]
of years so that means that like
[252]
i mean and i should mention like i
[254]
didn't have i can scroll down here and
[255]
show you
[256]
uh these are my top five highest
[259]
grossing royalty skus
[261]
and none of them are trends they're all
[262]
evergreen even the top one that sold 25
[265]
shirts
[265]
and 130 of royalties that's not a trend
[268]
that that sells
[269]
every single month it's one of my best
[271]
sellers and when you start to like stack
[273]
up those evergreens that's how you
[274]
really
[275]
build a you know long-term sustainable
[278]
like high
[278]
profit amazon merch business and i mean
[281]
130
[282]
a month i mean that's not even that
[283]
great but imagine if you have a couple
[285]
shirts doing that reliably you know
[287]
that an old or a shirt doing more than
[288]
that right that's that's even more ideal
[292]
so amazon merch and if you come to my
[293]
blog you can see like a more in-depth
[295]
breakdown on my analytics
[296]
of uh i guess i didn't include the
[298]
legend here but this also shows the
[300]
international sales
[301]
um breakdown by product type standard
[304]
t-shirt 87
[305]
hoodies four percent premium t-shirt
[307]
three percent tank top three percent the
[309]
rest one percent
[310]
breakdown by fit type um mainly men 62
[313]
percent 25
[314]
women 6 percent unisex 6 kids color
[317]
breakdown 49
[319]
black 8 percent navy 6 royal blue 5
[322]
heather gray five percent white you can
[324]
see the rest on my blog post and
[326]
uploads updates do i still have my uh
[328]
previous month open i do let me look at
[330]
my side monitor first so in one month
[332]
in the month of march i went from 110
[336]
000 uploads to 135
[340]
000 uploads so what is that i got 25 000
[342]
products uploaded
[344]
all thanks to merch titans upload
[346]
automation by the way i keep that
[348]
running like pretty much all the time
[349]
recently
[350]
uh because i'm using automate pod to get
[352]
designs created using automation
[354]
and merge titan's automation to get them
[356]
uploaded basically on autopilot
[359]
as you guys know i could do merch
[361]
full-time and then just disappear from
[362]
youtube
[362]
stop doing fba all that but i'd rather
[365]
just kind of like
[366]
do a good enough job with my merch
[367]
account to keep scaling it up to make
[369]
almost four thousand dollars but also
[372]
free up a lot of time
[374]
because of the automation to do stuff
[375]
like this youtube channel so i'll put
[377]
links to both of those in the
[378]
description and then also those of you
[380]
guys that are kind of scared off by the
[381]
concept of automation
[383]
you know it was probably four or five
[385]
months ago i'm losing track of time i
[386]
mean heck the first quarter of 2021's
[388]
already over
[389]
it was probably like five months ago if
[390]
i had to guess i did a course
[393]
just covering the merch titans
[395]
automation
[396]
suite of tools if you are interested in
[398]
that i can also put a link in the
[400]
description and you know what i'll put
[401]
like a promo code attached to it
[403]
for the next like week so the first week
[405]
of april um seven days from when i
[407]
released this on
[408]
thursday um i'll take like 50 off in
[410]
case you guys want to check that out so
[412]
it will walk you through step by step
[413]
exactly how i use the full suite of
[415]
merch titans automation tools
[417]
to basically automate every aspect of
[419]
print on demand including
[421]
merged by amazon automation drop shipped
[423]
print on demand this is my
[424]
non-amazon merch print on demand sales
[427]
so everything complementary to amazon
[428]
merch i did 363 sales bringing in 1
[431]
926 of profit and you can see a
[434]
breakdown by platform i did 256 sales on
[437]
amazon.com
[438]
seven on amazon.com uk and those are
[440]
both via the printful integration i also
[442]
use the gear bubble integration
[443]
on amazon.com but i always like to
[445]
remind you guys i don't recommend you
[446]
pay for gearbubble
[447]
they're one of the few production
[448]
partners that charge monthly and i'm not
[450]
a fan of that
[451]
i have lifetime integrations for free
[452]
because i paid them two thousand dollars
[454]
back in like 2017
[455]
but i'm not recommending you guys do
[456]
that because you don't really need to
[458]
when i did i didn't know printful was
[459]
around as an option so that was my bad
[461]
uh ebay 13 sales etsy zero uh redbubble
[465]
72 spread shirt four t public zero
[467]
teespring zero
[468]
zazzle 11. so here's a breakdown
[472]
on the blog post if you guys want to
[474]
follow along of course link in the
[475]
description
[476]
of my printful to amazon seller central
[479]
sales you can see
[480]
day by day um i guess i should have
[482]
probably shown how many sales i got on
[484]
these days with the larger spikes but i
[486]
think i my average is like seven sales a
[487]
day so that's probably the midline so if
[489]
you see a spike that's probably like 10
[490]
11 12
[491]
ish uh amazon.co.uk sparse
[495]
sales but still profitable and amazon to
[497]
ebay
[498]
by the way recently i've did more of a i
[501]
mean recently
[502]
a couple days this week i set aside time
[504]
to upload more products to ebay and ebay
[506]
rewarded me they saw me pushing products
[508]
and just auto
[509]
automated uh email came that was like
[511]
we've increased the number of products
[512]
you can upload and uh
[514]
they do it in a weird way where it's
[515]
like it's not if you upload a shirt it's
[517]
like the number of
[518]
units you have available for each size
[521]
totals to like your number of products
[523]
that you can upload to ebay it's weird
[524]
so they increased my limits um they also
[526]
do like an aggregate value of all your
[528]
products combined
[529]
and it's like a massive number so the
[532]
way they do it is super i just keep
[533]
saying it's weird but
[534]
it is if you you should not skip ebay
[536]
like if you have best sellers you
[537]
definitely want to be able to push it to
[538]
ebay otherwise you're leaving money on
[540]
the table
[540]
uh but the way that they do like their
[542]
limits on sellers is weird
[544]
um i just said it again it's weird it's
[546]
weird it's weird uh all right here's a
[547]
breakdown of the profit i made by
[549]
platform amazon.com 1
[550]
490 of profit redbubble 177
[554]
ebay 159. hopefully that'll be larger
[557]
next month because like i said i was
[558]
pushing
[558]
a bunch of products to ebay recently and
[561]
i've already seen sales
[562]
so it's always nice when you're
[563]
validated like i'm like hmm i think
[565]
these will do well on ebay and then
[566]
within a day
[567]
or two days i don't remember when i
[569]
pushed i did two two separate days of
[571]
upload sessions and i don't automate
[573]
uploads to ebay i do it manually
[575]
amazon.com uk 59 dollars of profit
[578]
generated as well
[579]
ultimately this resulted in a printful
[581]
silver volume discount of seven percent
[584]
applied to all of my sales in the month
[586]
of april
[588]
all right next amazon kdp i did 88
[592]
sales bringing in 165 dollars and 70
[595]
cents of profit
[595]
average royalty was a dollar 88 cents
[597]
per sale so you can see there my
[599]
dashboard of sales behind me
[602]
um there's a nice increase month over
[603]
month i mean february wasn't a great
[605]
month so
[606]
um that's a break i need to fix this on
[609]
my blog post i just realized i didn't do
[610]
262 sales i did 88
[612]
um but i will fix that here you can see
[615]
a breakdown by market uh
[617]
united states was my top grossing market
[619]
followed by uk
[620]
followed by canada followed by germany
[621]
followed by italy and last but not least
[624]
spain one cool thing about kdp is you
[627]
push a book
[628]
you can have it listed in what does it
[630]
say right here the uk germany france
[632]
spain italy canada and japan
[634]
in addition to the united states so that
[636]
is something that we should all take
[637]
advantage of plus you can do expanded
[639]
distribution
[640]
and what do i always say cover as much
[642]
online real estate as possible kdp makes
[644]
it very easy to do that
[645]
and they don't have the same like upload
[646]
slot restrictions that merged by amazon
[648]
has
[650]
all right let's move on to google ads so
[652]
my earnings on the month
[654]
were six thousand one hundred and three
[656]
dollars
[657]
my and that's all profit youtube brought
[660]
in
[660]
five thousand eight hundred six dollars
[663]
my
[663]
one big website that brings in a decent
[665]
amount of money brought in 297 dollars
[667]
of
[668]
ad revenue page views for that site 324
[671]
000 ad impressions 1.1 million so pretty
[674]
good month there i'd say
[676]
and um you know i always say that i also
[678]
do on this website i do some additional
[680]
like direct
[681]
deals people that basically want to
[682]
either buy like an
[684]
ad direct or they want to buy a backlink
[686]
to some other site
[688]
for seo purposes so i do make a decent
[690]
you know bit of extra money there
[692]
um you know and then i spend it on gifs
[694]
for my girlfriend right
[696]
because i'm no dummy so here we go
[699]
estimated earnings you can see a
[700]
breakdown from my google analytic or
[702]
google google adsense this is from
[703]
google adsense right here
[704]
when you see the earnings if you scroll
[706]
down further you can see
[708]
my google analytics dashboard for the
[710]
month of march
[712]
and you can see it spikes on weekends
[714]
the traffic tends to spike
[716]
uh youtube revenue i mentioned fifty
[718]
eight hundred dollars and you can see a
[720]
screenshot of my youtube
[721]
rev rev the revenue dashboard right here
[724]
five thousand eight hundred six dollars
[725]
you can see some days
[726]
it was cranking up there at like 250
[728]
bucks a day other days it would dip down
[729]
to like 150
[731]
i'm not sure why that happens but um i'm
[732]
happy with the extra money either way
[734]
when i started youtube it wasn't like
[736]
something that i ever really
[737]
intended to make money on like i always
[739]
knew you could monetize a channel but
[741]
i just so happened to learn along the
[743]
way that
[744]
this e-commerce passive income space
[747]
that i'm in
[748]
the ads tend to pay more than if i was
[750]
to start like a
[751]
travel channel because i've actually
[753]
talked to travel channel youtubers
[754]
that have way more subscribers and they
[757]
don't make nearly as much money i looked
[759]
at the makeup youtube channels you would
[760]
think that those channels would do
[761]
really well with ads
[762]
they make like less than a tenth um as
[765]
much from the ads
[766]
if you guys are wondering i mean this is
[768]
stuff that again i never set out to
[769]
to do it's just you know along the way
[771]
i'm like oh that's not bad they're
[772]
paying me to do youtube and i'm not even
[773]
doing it for the money
[774]
and you know now i'm making like 5 800
[776]
bucks a month but subscribers gained
[778]
thank you to all the new subscribers 3
[780]
800 month over month by the way if you
[782]
guys aren't subscribed and you want to
[783]
do that that would be awesome
[785]
and um yeah here we go socialblade
[787]
showing my 64
[789]
100 subscribers however we are not
[791]
stopping this train until we hit at
[793]
least 100k
[794]
that is when i'm gonna actually like i
[796]
think sit down and celebrate and feel
[797]
like i accomplished something
[799]
i like to set high goals for myself so
[801]
100k or bust
[803]
all right scrolling back up to the top
[804]
of this blog post here let's look at the
[806]
aggregate total for
[808]
march 2021 so you can see here on this
[810]
pie chart
[811]
that i've got on my website check that
[812]
out isn't that cool you can click it and
[814]
it pops out the
[815]
various income streams so the
[818]
grand total from amazon fba was it's
[821]
behind my chair here but it was 3
[823]
500 and 97 cents of profit amazon merch
[826]
thirty four dollars a 3734.00 drop ship
[828]
print on demand one thousand
[830]
nine hundred twenty six dollars of
[832]
profit
[833]
amazon kdp 165 dollars a profit all of
[836]
those i would consider to be very
[838]
complementary
[839]
and you could in a way like you know how
[841]
i always talk about like
[842]
find a way to make money and then find
[844]
complimentary ways
[846]
to milk that for additional money i feel
[847]
like everything i just talked about
[849]
are all complementary to each other and
[850]
then because the year is 2021
[853]
and we're starting to realize that there
[854]
is this like knowledge economy
[856]
whether it's like oh sell a course or
[858]
just go on youtube and start talking
[860]
and then all of a sudden youtube's
[861]
paying you 5 800 bucks a month for
[863]
ad revenue you know the google ads you
[866]
could almost say is complimentary too
[867]
because
[868]
all i do is i talk about how i made the
[870]
the other chunks of the pie
[872]
that you see here right i get on youtube
[874]
talk about how i made those chunks so
[875]
you could say it's complementary
[877]
and that totaled 6 100 on the month so
[880]
the uh grand total for the month though
[882]
let me pull it up over here
[883]
fifteen thousand four hundred thirty one
[885]
dollars of passive income
[887]
in march 2021 guys thank you so much for
[890]
watching this video thank you for all
[892]

[893]

[895]
