[1]
hey just want to make uh a video
[3]
on an early observation
[6]
while i'm in the process of the journey
[9]
of through this
[10]
nft space you know obviously i bought
[12]
bitcoin
[13]
theory and back bitcoin in 2014
[17]
um and have been following space for a
[19]
long time and had really
[21]
understood what was going on with nfts
[23]
maybe a year and a half ago
[26]
obviously in the sports card world the
[29]
nba top shot all that stuff but
[30]
somewhere around
[31]
october november this year i started
[32]
getting really serious and just started
[34]
realizing
[35]
how excited i was about it because it
[37]
was like a culmination of all the things
[39]
i love storytelling there's gonna be
[40]
millions of nfts projects and
[44]
and most won't succeed you know no
[47]
different than
[48]
for every pokemon or star wars there's a
[51]
black hole or
[52]
bucky o'hare right there's just or for
[55]
every
[56]
magic the gathering there's a snorks
[58]
there's
[59]
so much ip out there but what's very
[61]
clear is that
[63]
the alternative investment ecosystem
[67]
the growth of blockchain in general
[70]
societal norms digitization
[73]
of our society you know what's a blue
[76]
check worth to a lot of people
[78]
is what i say to a lot of people like
[79]
why would i buy this
[81]
status we wear brands to communicate who
[84]
we are we we have facial hair and we're
[86]
hats
[87]
and live like we are creatures that
[90]
communicate
[91]
with each other through our purchases
[94]
and our behaviors
[96]
like like it's who we are and so
[101]
so to me this nft journey is amazing the
[103]
community is amazing i haven't felt like
[105]
this since
[106]
web 2.0 2005. it's just so obvious some
[109]
of my
[110]
brightest technology friends that i made
[111]
friendships with back in 2005 that web
[113]
2.0 era
[114]
are flirting it's just so obvious to me
[117]
and so
[118]
non-fungible tokens are going to be a
[120]
big part of all of your lives i really
[121]
believe that i think this is a
[123]
space space like a real rail space and
[125]
so i think you should get educated i
[126]
think um i think it's a really good idea
[129]
to
[130]
spend the 10 15 20 hours to go down
[133]
those rabbit holes on youtube or google
[134]
depending on how you learn better audio
[136]
video
[137]
written word um and i'm really excited
[139]
about i'm gonna really go
[140]
at it and i'm gonna buy a bunch and i'm
[143]
gonna trade a bunch and sell a bunch and
[146]
uh use a bunch and really get deep into
[149]
this community and so i'm excited
[151]
and i want to excite my community
[152]
because i think a lot of you will do
[153]
well and this will be the video that you
[155]
reference in five seven nine years
[158]
to being one that got you going in a
[160]
space that
[161]
changed your life so fun video for me to
[164]
make
[164]
haven't been able to wouldn't have been
[165]
able to make a video like this
[168]
um maybe sports cards three years ago
[171]
but this is a video i would have put out
[174]
in 2005 or six
[176]
or seven around social media and i did i
[179]
do have some of those videos
[180]
anyway nft something that i think uh
[184]
you'll enjoy yeah talk about nft yeah
[186]
nfts
[187]
my favorite new topic i'm so obsessed
[189]
too i'm spending a ton of time on this
[192]
in my own brain for people who don't
[193]
know what nfts are right non-fungible
[195]
tokens
[196]
uh these are one of the great parts
[198]
about the uh
[199]
the whole in the crypto space the
[201]
blockchain space
[202]
satoshi's white paper is it was the
[204]
first digital signature that you could
[206]
encounter fit
[207]
so think about that means you can make
[209]
digital art that no one can counterfeit
[211]
and so all of us on art gets its value
[213]
uh
[214]
from scarcity and so the blockchain
[218]
allows you to do that so now we're gonna
[219]
see artists for the first time
[221]
ever create art digitally right the
[224]
great artists
[225]
they never did before uh so you're going
[226]
to sell digital art you can actually
[228]
take your phone you're going to buy it
[229]
it's going on your phone you're going to
[230]
walk home you're going to throw it up on
[231]
a
[232]
giant screen and you're like that's mine
[234]
no one else owns that thing that's mine
[235]
and so we're going to have collectibles
[237]
they're going to create new collectibles
[239]
percent there's gonna be instead of
[240]
baseball cards well there's nba top shop
[242]
they're so rare
[243]
shopping blowing up all of a sudden
[244]
looking at it and so then there'll be
[246]
fractional things that get sold well
[248]
that's what's happening the
[249]
fractionalization of physical things
[252]
is a game changer the reason michael
[253]
jordan's rookie card is going to a
[254]
million dollars because you can sell 100
[256]
coverage yes because kenny and staphon
[259]
actually want it
[260]
i know they do but they're not dropping
[262]
350
[263]
000 on a single sports card not yet not
[265]
yet not yet and i know and i know them
[267]
but would they drop
[268]
350 bucks if they knew was going to a
[270]
million that's no different than buying
[272]
a little tesla on apple stock the
[273]
fractionalization
[274]
of sports cards is going to get that
[276]
market insane
[278]
on the tippy-tippy top and so and you're
[280]
going to
[281]
you're going to fractionalize jerseys
[283]
you're going to fractionalize
[284]
cars or fractions all kinds of
[285]
memorabilia is going to follow but even
[286]
bigger than that are going to be these
[288]
nfts you're going to have
[290]
the super bowl we're going to have you
[291]
know mahomes and i'm going to have an
[293]
artist do a painting on a digital
[295]
painting of him and a rapper or
[296]
you know sing a little song behind him
[298]
and then he's going to be up there this
[299]
and you're going to sell
[300]
that little clip from the super bowl
[303]
done by chase
[304]
chase hall or whoever the artist is and
[307]
people will be like dude there like 10
[308]
of those and they're going to buy them
[310]
and they're going to keep i think people
[311]
need to know how to showcase them
[313]
yeah the missing pete we're in it just
[315]
for the record because i want to clip
[316]
this one day and say you know i like to
[318]
do my content in nine years i'll clip
[319]
this and be like see told you
[321]
you're 100 right in one other man's
[323]
humble opinion
[325]
why why art works is
[329]
high net worth individuals buy a piece
[330]
of art and
[332]
whether they put it in a moroccan you
[334]
know warehouse or whether they put it in
[337]
their upper west side
[338]
uh apartment or whether they have a show
[342]
that they donated to something they're
[344]
able to you know
[345]
display it display it they're they're
[347]
they're gonna be able to recent sports
[348]
cards are is because you take a selfie
[350]
and put it on instagram we love to flex
[353]
i'm waiting to understand the
[355]
flexibization
[357]
of the nft and as soon as i understand
[360]
it
[361]
it's coming oh i'm the least confused of
[363]
all time so when you think about nfts
[365]
you mentioned digital scarcity nfts
[367]
what's going on in that space it's
[369]
really early as you mentioned
[370]
i think it's a great area for people to
[371]
really get tapped into do some research
[373]
what are you seeing where can people
[374]
start to learn a little bit more about
[376]
that space
[377]
you know i think when you look at that
[379]
um bitsky.com is a platform that i think
[382]
is working
[384]
go project i mean there's a if you just
[386]
go to the hashtag nft on twitter right
[387]
now
[388]
there's an incredible amount of uh
[390]
information people the artist
[392]
like just google search what he's up to
[394]
with christie's
[395]
this is for me personally this may be
[398]
the space that is the manifestation of
[399]
my life
[400]
supply and demand scarcity trading ip
[404]
if you want to talk about something to
[405]
pay attention to the ip wars for nft
[408]
rights are going to be remarkably
[409]
interesting
[410]
and just the fact that we're living in a
[412]
digital world what's a blue check
[414]
verification worth
[415]
to a lot of people in in the world today
[418]
unfortunately or fortunately depending
[419]
how you want to look at it
[420]
quite a bit and i think with the rise of
[422]
vr
[423]
you could really start to understand why
[425]
these nfts
[427]
have a real shine i think that that nft
[430]
is going to be something coming out of a
[431]
lot of people's mouths on this program
[433]
over the next half decade
[435]
all right so let's um speaking of sports
[436]
let's talk about nfts um
[438]
tell me what i need to know about uh tap
[441]
top shot
[441]
and which is what is going on there
[443]
because um i'm only 30 but i feel like a
[446]
boomer when i when i look at some of
[447]
this stuff
[448]
you know what's so funny uh a lot of
[449]
people are trying to connect their coin
[451]
base to their meta mask right now
[453]
and they're like scared and i keep
[454]
making fun of them because i'm like you
[456]
made fun of your parents for not wanting
[458]
to put a credit card
[459]
into a website nine years ago and now
[461]
you're the boomer
[463]
uh there's a lot going on in nfts you
[465]
know the
[466]
digitalization of everything in our
[467]
society social currency
[470]
the reason people care about a blue
[471]
check on instagram is the same reason
[473]
this is going to be huge
[474]
ip is going to see an incredible amount
[476]
of dollars artists
[478]
both digital artists and music artists
[481]
are gonna
[482]
are gonna find a platform that is going
[484]
to allow them to monetize without people
[486]
sitting in the middle taking a piece of
[488]
the cut this is going to be an
[490]
incredibly big revolution
[492]
and you know nba top shot is an
[494]
incredibly big platform
[496]
uh because nba ip is so hot sports cards
[499]
have been so hot
[500]
nft is getting hot so that was a perfect
[502]
storm
[503]
big shout out to those individuals
[505]
you've got so rare
[507]
which uh which uh i wrote a tiny
[509]
twenty-five thousand dollar check into
[510]
but i bought more
[512]
in the actual soccer cards on there
[515]
um i think you're gonna see a lot about
[517]
so rare talking about giving
[518]
footballs aka soccer's global footprint
[521]
and then you've got the overall nft
[523]
market which is just
[524]
about to and i wasn't kidding this
[527]
program
[528]
is going to spend an enormous amount of
[529]
time this summer fall winter talking nft
