[55]

[57]

[72]

[74]
i've put my linkedin link in the
[75]
description below the video
[77]
and finally give the video a thumbs up
[79]
please give it a like because that tells
[81]
me you enjoy the content
[82]
and it motivates me to create more for
[84]
you thank you very much let's get
[85]
started
[86]
the first question tell me about
[88]
yourself and why you want to become
[89]
an auditor now in this first auditor job
[92]
interview question
[93]
my advice is to talk about the skills
[95]
and qualities you have
[96]
any relevant experience you have gained
[99]
and how you will
[100]
quickly make a positive difference in
[102]
the role if they choose to hire you
[104]
so here's my suggested answer tell me
[106]
about yourself and why you want to
[108]
become an auditor
[110]
i am a standards driven self-motivated
[112]
and competent person who has meticulous
[114]
attention to detailed skills
[116]
the ability to work accurately at pace
[119]
and a strong passion for auditing
[121]
and in particular helping the
[122]
organization i am working for
[124]
achieve its financial and commercial
[126]
objectives
[128]
over the years i've built up
[129]
considerable experience as an auditor
[131]
for various companies of different sizes
[133]
and i have a tried and tested
[135]
systematic approach to my auditing work
[138]
i want to become an auditor because i
[140]
enjoy the level of responsibility that
[141]
comes with the position
[143]
i prefer to work in an environment where
[145]
i can see the impact of my work
[147]
and i particularly enjoy the type of
[149]
role that requires a strong
[150]
aptitude for maths if you do hire me as
[153]
your auditor
[154]
i feel confident you will quickly see
[156]
the value i can add to your organization
[158]
and it will be my goal to work with you
[161]
to help you achieve your long-term
[162]
business objectives that is a brilliant
[165]
answer
[166]
and it sets you up with confidence for
[168]
the remainder of your
[169]
auditor interview so don't go anywhere
[171]
because i still have
[172]
many more questions and answers to work
[174]
through with you and what you can do is
[176]
you can either pause the video if you
[178]
want to and take a note of the questions
[180]
and answers
[181]
as i progress or if you want to wait i
[183]
will soon tell you
[184]
where you can download my full set of 21
[187]
auditor interview questions and top
[188]
scoring answers
[190]
including the ones we are covering today
[192]
but here's the next question for you
[193]
why do you want to work for our company
[195]
in the position of auditor
[198]
my tip is it's very important you carry
[200]
out some research into their
[201]
organization
[202]
and you must give genuine and valid
[204]
reasons why you want to work there
[206]
here's another great answer to assist
[208]
you so why do you want to work for our
[210]
company in the position of auditor
[212]
i genuinely believe you can only work to
[214]
the necessary standards as an auditor
[217]
if the company you are working for
[218]
believes in the benefits of quality
[220]
auditing
[221]
you have the support of the senior
[222]
management team and there is a culture
[224]
that strives to achieve and maintain
[226]
compliance
[227]
for the long-term good of the
[229]
organization
[230]
prior to submitting my resume for this
[232]
auditor position
[234]
i researched your business in detail and
[236]
i was impressed with your history
[238]
your commercial goals and the company
[240]
mission statement i am at the stage in
[242]
my career where i am looking for
[243]
long-term employment as an auditor
[245]
and i feel strongly your company is one
[247]
where i can stay working at for a long
[249]
period of time
[250]
so that's a great answer because it
[251]
shows you've looked into their company
[253]
you understand the importance of having
[255]
support by the senior management team
[257]
and you are explaining that you
[259]
understand they
[261]
want to create a culture that strives to
[263]
achieve and maintain compliance for the
[265]
long-term good
[266]
so that's a great answer so
[269]
don't go anywhere again because i still
[270]
have more questions and answers to work
[272]
through with you but when you're ready
[273]
if you want to click that link in the
[274]
top right hand corner of the video it
[275]
will take you through to my website
[277]
passmyinterview.com and you can download
[280]
my full set of 21
[282]
auditor interview questions and answers
[284]
including the ones we are working
[285]
through together
[286]
within these slides but here's the next
[288]
question for you what are the principles
[290]
of auditing
[291]
now having a set of principles you
[293]
follow whilst conducting your auditing
[295]
work is very important
[297]
now obviously whilst you may have your
[299]
own set of guiding principles
[301]
here's a suggested answer to help you
[303]
prepare what are the principles of
[305]
auditing
[306]
the key principles are integrity
[308]
objectivity and fairness
[310]
professional competence and due care
[312]
confidentiality and independence
[315]
integrity is in respect of setting and
[317]
maintaining consistently high standards
[320]
objectivity and fairness are relevant to
[322]
having a purpose for the audit
[324]
and having clear objectives or outcomes
[326]
whilst communicating and recording your
[328]
findings openly fairly and accurately
[331]
professional competence and due care are
[333]
ensuring you are suitably qualified to
[335]
carry out the auditing work
[337]
that you follow the relevant rules
[338]
guidelines and procedures
[340]
and you exercise due care and make
[341]
reasoned judgments
[343]
now confidentiality means you must never
[345]
use audit information
[346]
for personal gain and you must exercise
[348]
discretion in the use of the information
[350]
you obtain
[351]
during the auditing process finally
[354]
independence means you act responsibly
[356]
at all times
[357]
you remove all bias you remain objective
[359]
and there is no
[360]
conflict of interest what i like about
[363]
that answer is you are not just
[364]
stating what the principles are that you
[367]
follow but you are explaining
[369]
why they are important within your work
[372]
the next question how would you sell the
[373]
need for an internal audit
[375]
to a skeptical manager or member of
[377]
staff now your ability to communicate
[379]
and negotiate effectively
[381]
is essentially being assessed here talk
[383]
about the approach you would use to help
[385]
create an organizational culture
[387]
that sees auditing work as a benefit to
[390]
the organization
[392]
here's my suggested answer for you being
[394]
an auditor i am constantly aware of the
[396]
benefits
[397]
an internal audit can bring however i
[400]
also
[401]
fully appreciate and understand others
[403]
may be skeptical
[404]
and it will be part of my
[405]
responsibilities to promote the need for
[407]
and the benefits of
[409]
an internal audit whilst helping to
[411]
create a culture
[412]
that sees them as a vital part of the
[414]
organization's success
[416]
i would create a presentation that
[418]
covers the five key benefits of the
[420]
internal audit
[421]
now within the presentation i would
[422]
explain how the audit helps protect
[425]
company assets
[426]
and it helps negate the possibility of
[428]
fraud i would explain how it enables the
[430]
organization
[431]
to continually improve and change or
[433]
amend its operating procedures to ensure
[436]
efficiency
[436]
and effectiveness i will explain how we
[439]
all have a responsibility to ensure
[441]
compliance
[442]
and the risk of not doing so can be
[444]
far-reaching and potentially disastrous
[445]
for the business
[446]
from a financial commercial and brand
[449]
reputation perspective
[451]
i would explain how internal audits help
[453]
increase financial robustness and
[455]
integrity
[456]
and they hope to promote transparency
[457]
and confidence between staff
[459]
and senior company directors and
[461]
shareholders that's another great answer
[463]
that shows
[464]
you fully understand how you would need
[467]
to sell the need for an internal audit
[469]
to anyone
[470]
who was skeptical about it the next
[472]
question tell me about a time when you
[474]
had to deliver
[475]
a difficult message to a group of people
[477]
now this is a common order to job
[479]
interview question
[480]
that needs an answer that focuses on a
[482]
specific example
[484]
where you communicated effectively so
[486]
here's my suggested answer to help you
[489]
tell me about a time when you had to
[491]
deliver a difficult message to a group
[493]
of people
[494]
in a previous auditing role i had
[496]
completed an audit and the results
[498]
needed to be communicated to all
[500]
departments
[501]
i was given a task of delivering the
[502]
results and the areas in which we as an
[504]
organization
[505]
needed to improve upon now before
[508]
delivering my presentation
[509]
i stepped back from the context of my
[511]
report i considered how the findings
[514]
would be received
[515]
and how i could concentrate on
[517]
constructive feedback
[518]
whilst maintaining integrity and
[520]
transparency
[521]
now this is a difficult presentation to
[523]
deliver as i had identified a number of
[526]
important issues that needed addressing
[528]
whilst delivering the presentation i
[530]
started off by focusing on a number of
[531]
positive outcomes
[533]
and what the organization was
[534]
particularly good at i then detailed the
[536]
areas for improvement
[538]
the benefits for making those
[539]
improvements and a clear and concise
[541]
plan of what we all needed to do
[543]
to achieve the improvement objectives i
[545]
then finished off the presentation on a
[547]
positive note
[548]
by detailing a small number of
[550]
outstanding highlights from the audit
[552]
that i felt the organization
[553]
should be praised for due to the manner
[555]
in which i constructed and delivered the
[557]
presentation
[558]
with clarity and confidence the internal
[560]
audit was well received and the
[562]
organization went on to quickly make the
[563]
changes
[564]
i had identified so that shows that you
[567]
understand how
[568]
to deliver difficult messages and the
[571]
way that you structure your presentation
[573]
there
[573]
with clarity and purpose helps to get
[576]
your message across in a confident
[578]
manner and that's very important
[580]
