[7]
Ann: Hello everyone!
[8]
Welcome to Kupa TV!
[10]
I am here today to share with you how to fit a sculpting form.
[14]
I am going to show you a step-by-step process on how to apply a different form on different
[20]
shapes of nails.
[21]
So are you ready?
[22]
Lets get started!
[23]
Ann: So what I have here is our Kupa Divinity Infinite Form.
[30]
The form is designed for salon use also for extreme nail design.
[35]
So for salon use I suggest you guys tear this part off.
[38]
Because it will be a lot easier for you guys.
[41]
So once you have done that there is a sticker right here, take that off and put that behind
[49]
the back of the form.
[52]
Don't go overlapping the ring area.
[54]
Make sure you put slightly below straight and center.
[59]
Okay?
[61]
This will retain your C-curve shape.
[64]
Okay, when you flip over I want you to tear off the tear right there.
[71]
You tear it off and split that out.
[73]
SO then you are going to place your two thumbs on the sides and then you want to roll it
[77]
a little bit.
[78]
But rolling this, that will give you a strong C-curve right here.
[83]
So when you place a form underneath a free edge onto a nail like this, the first thing
[90]
I need you to look for is there shouldn't be any gaps right there.
[95]
Okay?
[96]
There is no gaps.
[97]
If there are you need to tailor the form to fit the form right.
[101]
So the key of doing this is, see this is how I just place it at first.
[108]
You need to line the center line and the center nail fit right there.
[114]
That just gives you a guide where to keep that center line.
[117]
Okay?
[118]
So keep this line right here to the center of the nail.
[121]
That is the first key.
[122]
The next thing I need you to look for is when you kind of hold the form down don't pinch
[129]
it in, don't secure it in, just let it loose, but kind of pinch down a little bit.
[133]
So then you can see the curve.
[134]
If you leave it straight like this, the line will be different.
[138]
So just kind of tilt the form down a little bit.
[141]
And then you look at both sides.
[143]
So what you do is you measure it, if you are not sure you may use a little pen or pencil
[149]
to mark it.
[150]
If that helps, if not just follow the lines.
[154]
Right now she has the gaps on the sides, the form doesn't fit her well.
[158]
So what I am going to do is look at the center, the Hyponychium, and then the side ways here
[164]
and use it as a key point to cut the lines.
[168]
You want to cut the form slightly into a “V”.
[171]
Because she has higher smile line.
[174]
So that is what I am going to do.
[175]
I am going to cut from here to here.
[178]
Again, use the line as a guide.
[182]
Okay.
[184]
And the again, so that is a small “V” because her nail is pretty short.
[190]
Sometimes you might not get it right right away, so don't be frustrated just try it again.
[195]
Okay that looks good because right now you can see from sidewall to sidewall, they all
[200]
fit perfectly underneath.
[202]
So now that you have cut the free edge to fit the front of the nail I need you to cut
[209]
the sides.
[210]
Okay.
[211]
So now you need to measure where the lines going to be.
[215]
So like I said you just use the lines on the form to give as a mark.
[222]
To mark it and then cut.
[224]
So I want to take the scissors and what you do is hold it here.
[230]
Her nail slightly fit right there, so what I am going to do is cut it about 45 degree
[235]
angle and I am going to do the same on the other side.
[242]
You can fold it, but I am just going to cut it there.
[246]
Now I am going to roll it again, okay so this form, this is in general form you are going
[257]
to use it for square.
[260]
Because right now what I am going to do is put that in and you see I am not going to
[266]
press the form down but if you can see the side profile, if you see her the side profile
[275]
her side here, I cut right there just enough.
[281]
So then when you apply the products the product doesn't go underneath the form or underneath
[286]
the nail.
[287]
Okay.
[288]
So then your products should be straightly going out like that.
[295]
And that is the way it is.
[296]
So that is how you tailor form to fit individual nails like that.
[302]
Okay.
[303]
So with a square one, ok, you roll it.
[307]
Let me show you.
[308]
Okay so for square, you want to tuck straight in.
[314]
First what you do is, take the thumb and roll it down.
[321]
Actually there are two ways I am going to show you.
[323]
You can do this tuck it down and use your hand and pull the tab together.
[330]
Okay.
[332]
Or, if you are kind of nervous.
[334]
You don't know how you going to pull the tab evenly or not.
[337]
What I suggest you could do too is hold them like and then pull the tab, I have long nails
[346]
so, fold them like this and pull the tab together right there.
[350]
See?
[352]
That will give you just anchor it so you know the tab is even and symmetry together.
[358]
So now that that is anchored for you, all you do is put in a straight in.
[368]
So now that you closed both of the tabs.
[372]
The next thing I want you to make sure is that when you pull this tab tight secure then
[378]
you want to pull a little tighter along from the back here.
[383]
From the back here all the way to the front.
[389]
That is to insure you have very strong tight C-curve.
[395]
So when you, let’s just say when you work on a nail it doesn't move.
[399]
Like I can tug this and the form will stay put.
[403]
See by pulling that tightly you secure that form.
[409]
You can see this, I am tugging her right now.
[411]
I mean you don't want to do that at the salon but I am just saying to give you a point.
[417]
That I am tugging and the form is staying put.
[420]
That’s another thing about, I want to share with you about Kupa forms too, is that it
[424]
is very sticky.
[426]
It is like double layered, so the form is very secure and strong.
[430]
So once you put everything in place and secure that tab it is going to stay put.
[435]
So for a Square nail I want you to secure that tab right here, bend it down.
[441]
Like that.
[442]
You have little gap right here, which is good.
[445]
Then what you do is, make sure the form is straight from the nail to the form.
[452]
It shouldn’t, the form shouldn't go up or go down.
[459]
So the Square is straight.
[462]
So this is a front view for form fitting for Square.
[468]
The front view should have a nice barrel but also slightly tapered to the front.
[475]
Now I am going to show you the basic form fitting for Almond, Ballerina and Stiletto.
[488]
So you do the same, you take the sticker part and put it, again don't go overlap because
[495]
it is not correct.
[497]
I would say slightly below the ring area and then keep that right there.
[503]
And then you tare this part off and you roll.
[507]
Okay?
[508]
For the Stiletto I would say pinch that in a little bit in the center a little bit in.
[515]
You don't want to pinch too hard to leave a mark.
[518]
But just so the form can kind of give you that arch right there, that C-curve.
[524]
Okay, and then you go in with underneath the free edge.
[532]
And then by looking at this you have to see if you have any gaps.
[542]
There should be no gaps and there should be no gaps on the sides as well.
[547]
This one fits pretty well.
[549]
So all I am going to do is mark my side walls here and see where I need to slit the sides
[555]
here.
[556]
So what you are going to do is same thing, you take a scissor and cut it in a 45 degree
[561]
angle.
[562]
Right there and right there.
[567]
And if you want you can cut the tab on the sides.
[573]
Then I am going to roll it again.
[577]
And then with the of this 3 shapes, what you do differently than the Square is you need
[585]
to tilt it down a little bit.
[588]
Not so much down but slightly downwards.
[590]
Okay.
[591]
I am going to explain why I have to do that.
[596]
So let me just try to fit it first.
[599]
Snd then same thing you can pinch here or let’s just, I like this way better actually,
[609]
because I feel like for me this is easier.
[611]
So all I do is hold it, and pinch just the front tab first.
[617]
Just a little bit.
[618]
So that I have, thats my anchor point.
[622]
So right there I am going to go back and fit the form again.
[628]
So with this shape you want to pinch the top.
[633]
Right there.
[635]
You see how I pinch?
[636]
Look at the side, I only pinch right here for now.
[640]
So you want to angle that pinch 45 degrees roughly, and you just want the tip right here
[647]
to be pointy.
[649]
So the reason you have to tilt slightly downward is because what you want to do is build that
[653]
nail from here straight out and it goes straight to the tip.
[658]
If you put your form slightly up then that means this one go all the way, it will not
[664]
meet to the straight down.
[665]
It will be a little bit upward.
[667]
So then your point will not be straight.
[670]
So when you apply the nail, what it is the proside profile should be from here contour
[678]
around the cuticle area , from the side wall here should slowly going to a point right
[683]
there.
[684]
Thats why with the 3 shapes you need to tilt the form down slightly.
[689]
So once you get that form straight out then from the front, the top view, I want you to
[696]
pay attention that from the tab when you close it, it closes.
[700]
You see?
[703]
This Square you have little room.
[705]
Because what you are doing, the reason there is no gap here is we tilt the form down a
[711]
little bit.
[712]
When you leave the form straight it has little gap.
[717]
So that is another key right there.
[720]
And second if you look at the top view, look how flat and the nail runs out consistently
[728]
to the tip of the form.
[731]
Okay?
[732]
And the side view look how tapered that is.
[735]
OK.
[736]
Okay, let’s just say if you don't pull the tab close then this top view is going to be
[746]
bigger.
[747]
Going to be wider.
[749]
So you want to really pull that side here, right here where the thumb at, you want to
[757]
pull it tight and secure.
[758]
So you would have that nice round C-curve when you shape the nail.
[763]
Now you see that comes to a point.
[765]
Everything needs to be straight and come to a point.
[770]
There should be no gap here.
[773]
Right?
[774]
There should be no gap there on the front of the form.
[778]
Okay now compared to the Square you can see there is a larger tapered barrel, with the
[783]
Square the barrel is larger, you see there is a huge gap right there.
[789]
And the Stiletto is closed and straight to a point.
[795]
See?
[796]
So that is the front view.
[799]
So this here, look at Square, you have a larger barrel straight down evenly to the end of
[807]
the form.
[808]
But this one, it gets tapered slowly, and then slowly taper and you come to a tiny point
[819]
to the end.
[821]
So with this form placement you can use it for Stiletto for the long length, or Almond
[829]
shape, or Ballerina nail shape.
[833]
So a nail form is the base of making nails.
[837]
So it is very essential and important for you to learn the steps of how to apply a form
[844]
step-by-step today.
[846]
So I hope that with these two ways of application of a form that you now know how to use it
[855]
and do 4 shapes that we mentioned earlier, which is the Square, the Almond, the Ballerina
[862]
and the Stilettos.
[864]
So I mean I know it’s probably a process, it’s not easy but it’s not that hard.
[871]
I think the best way I recommend is just be a little patience, and just practice.
[876]
Just do a few times a day and once you feel like you have it down right and then try to
[884]
do the application you will see a nail will turn out much easier and structural sound
[891]
and the shape will be much better.
