Shredding & Melting 1000 Coca Cola Soda Cans Into Huge Aluminium Ingots - YouTube

Channel: PressTube

[2]
Hey everyone my name is Ben and welcome on my channel press Tube in this video
[7]
I'm gonna make some large aluminium ingots from empty soda cans I have six pieces here
[13]
But I think I have approximately 1000 or 1100 outside so before I'm going to put them in the crucible
[21]
I will first fit him in the in the shredder
[24]
I put on a hopper so it's much easier to pour in a lot of cans at the same time
[29]
And when they are shredded they are a lot smaller
[32]
And it's much easier to fit them in the crucible because else it will take ya an entire day to melt eleven hundred or thousand
[39]
Cans so this is the crucible I will be using
[43]
it's approximately one liter a little bit more and
[46]
When they are when it's full I will pour it in this mold. This is a very heavy cast-iron mold I
[54]
Think this weighs approximately 15 or 20 kilograms
[58]
By itself so it's yeah, it's quite heavy
[60]
And I also think I can pour in two or even three of these crucibles in this mold
[67]
So I hope I will have some nice
[69]
I mean aluminium blocks when the video is ready, and I will show you at the end of the video
[73]
And I will also wait these aluminium blocks on my scale at the end of the video
[79]
So guys sit back relax and enjoy the video here we go
[495]
Okay guys welcome back
[497]
I hope you liked the video if you did please consider to give this a thumbs up it means a lot to me so
[502]
This is the result it took me five and a half to six hours to melt all the aluminium
[507]
There was a lot of slack on top of the aluminium because yeah
[511]
It's all the paint from those soda cans that starts floating on the top
[515]
And I had to scoop it off every time I filled in the I filled up the crucible so yeah it took
[520]
Yeah, a lot longer than when you put in a pure aluminium
[525]
But this is the result this is one crucible that I pour it in the mold
[531]
It's solid aluminium
[534]
This is a two crucibles in the mold you can see the line here. We are the two pours
[542]
connect and
[544]
then this is
[546]
These are three crucibles in that big mold so this is a full mold now
[552]
I'm very curious how much they weigh, I'll put on my scale here like this. I'm gonna start with the smallest
[561]
This one weighs
[564]
1.9. Kilograms, I will put the pounds in this corner
[567]
I'm not sure how many pounds that is, but I will put them in this corner over here, then this race
[577]
3.6. Kilograms oh I think this skill can also show pounds let me try this
[587]
No it can't okay, so this is 3.7 kilograms, and this one is
[595]
Four point seven kilograms, so yeah, that's about a little bit more than ten kilograms of aluminium
[601]
From thousand melt and soda cans so I wish you liked the video guys
[606]
And I already have another casting project which I'm working on
[610]
I hope it will be ready within one or two weeks so stay tuned on the channel and see you next time. Bye. Bye
[619]
