i appreciate the d-pad design very much

but besides that these feel pretty much

identical to regular joy-con the buttons

and the thumbsticks feel identical all

those other aftermarket door constant

i've tested have weird ugly mushy

buttons and it even has motion controls

and rumble just not hd rumble on paper

it's got all the features that would

warrant nintendo asking for 80

for a stupid controller

in practice

you quickly find out where the corners

were cut maybe you're interested in a

cheaper alternative because you've

already gone through a bunch of joy-cons

because of the joy-con drift well you'll

just be thrilled to know that these all

are also susceptible to joy-con drift

and not only that

the thumb sticks are calibrated so

poorly and you can't just fix it with

the switch's calibration settings the

thumb stick sensitivity is just abysmal

the thumbsticks favor the x and y axis

to a fault it's hard to make any moves

that aren't just left right up or down

and this is the case

with basically every cheap unofficial

joy-con i've tested in the past the

thumb sticks just aren't calibrated

correctly

it's a quality assurance issue the same

goes for motion controls i'm usually

just impressed when a controller like

this has motion controls at all and

doesn't cost an arm and a leg but it

seems there was some kind of input lag

in the motion controls and it was kind

of hard to move left

specifically

it's harder to tell exactly what the

problem is with motion controls because

there's no like motion controller like

settings or or graph on the switch

itself but it definitely just felt weird

motion controls

are often an issue with these

aftermarket knockoff looking controllers

now there's some aftermarket ones that

are great and don't have any of these

sorts of issues the problem is these

alibaba

knockoff looking ones you know them when

you see them even if the official

nintendo ones are susceptible to joycon

drift you could still just send them

back to nintendo and get a new one

usually within the week

the problem is

there's always going to be some sort of

quality assurance issues with these

aftermarket ones you might have

thumbstick sensitivity issues you might

have bad motion controls in some cases

the buttons might not even work

for science i also opened this bad boy

up just to see what it looked like i was

actually expecting an exact clone but

honestly it looks

way simpler and way cheaper looking in

there you can like almost swap the parts

but the d-pad wouldn't touch anything

you'd have to do a lot of modifications

all of these knock-offs get real close

to nintendo's design but just kiss the

line of copyright infringement but if

you dig deep enough into the dregs of

wanted to swap out the shell hell you

can just buy this and use it for parts
