youth i love this concept of a youth

savings account tell us how it works

so it's really simple all you need to do

is either go into a branch location go

online but sign up for a youth account

and we will match

up to 25 that you deposit into that

account so it's really easy you can do

it now through december 30th i love that

free money very smart that's the one

thing to teach kids first of all

no doubt uh and this is i think there's

a that uh youth savings promotion hello

that's through the end of

through when again december when

up to ten thousand dollars for every

account that's open to the clark county

school district um so

go and open up a youth savings account

and it's a great time again to to put

some money into account you can get

double your money and a great

opportunity to start that account for

those kids and teach them about

financial uh education early on in life

absolutely oh my gosh it's the gift that

keeps on giving shawn and i uh the other

day were talking about how we really

really don't need christmas presents but

we love experiences and i would think

taking your your child down opening a

savings account around the holidays

that's a memorable event and a life

lesson too that's so neat um just one of

several things you do with youth and the

schools and you've teamed up for the

vegas golden knights tell us again about

your game changer award

yes so this is a great um

opportunity for us to get involved in

the community another way we've teamed
[137]
up with the vegas golden knights and the
[139]
clark county educators and we want to
[142]
recognize those teachers who are doing
[144]
outstanding things in their community
[146]
so you can go on and you can nominate a
[148]
teacher we will review those nominations
[151]
last year we had over a thousand
[153]
teachers nominated
[154]
we were able to select four individuals
[157]
and we were able to give them a thousand
[159]
dollar classroom grant that they can use
[161]
in their classroom as well as take them
[164]
to a game
[165]
and um recognize them
[168]
at the the vegas golden knights game so
[170]
it's it's a great opportunity again to
[173]
recognize teachers who are going above
[175]
and beyond which is awesome and that's a
[177]
so true to form for what america first
[179]
stands for which is to be able to
[182]
to help the community in which you serve
[184]
and help those that help the community
[185]
which is fantastic uh you do that with
[187]
our give back award you've been doing it
[189]
for many years now on the morning blend
[190]
and we have a winner for the month of
[192]
november stephanie helms
[195]
yes we're so excited to recognize
[197]
stephanie and this is such a timely
[199]
recognition with just having veterans
[202]
day a couple of weeks ago
[204]
it's a great opportunity for us to
[206]
recognize stephanie and what she's doing
[208]
in the community and giving back
[210]
she's an individual that volunteered
[212]
with this organization and then became
[214]
more involved she's from a military
[216]
family and she's just doing great things
[218]
in the community
[219]
in fact let's hear from stephanie right
[221]
now
[223]
i was so excited to hear about the give
[225]
back award and thanks to the morning
[227]
blend and america first credit union for
[228]
sponsoring such a great program to
[230]
recognize all the good that's happening
[232]
in our community the klein fund provides
[234]
emergency housing assistance for
[236]
homeless and at-risk veterans here in
[238]
southern nevada by helping with security
[241]
deposits to get them into stable homes
[243]
by helping with rent and mortgage
[245]
assistance to keep veterans in their
[246]
homes also utility assistance to keep
[249]
the lights on and a few other buckets of
[251]
resources like scholarships for ccsd
[254]
students who are dependents of veterans
[255]
last year we served over 200 veteran
[258]
families
[259]
a large percentage of which are senior
[261]
citizens disabled or chronically ill or
[263]
families with young children and that
[265]
added up to almost 500 people served in
[267]
2020 and in 2021 we're on track to
[270]
exceed those numbers by almost 40
[272]
percent thank you so much for the
[273]
nomination to the nominator and thank
[276]
you to america first credit union for
[278]
the check which will be going right back
[279]
into the klein fund to support our
[281]
program
[282]
oh that is just great well nicole thank

and and the resources to honor folks

like that it not only adds um to

everything that you do in the community

it adds to our show because we get a

help spotlight these folks so thank you
