The American Dream is the biggest Scam today! - YouTube
Channel: Kavisha Patel
[0]
hey everyone welcome back to my聽
channel guys i'd like to take a聽聽
[3]
moment and thank you all for supporting聽
this channel and showing so much love聽聽
[7]
i really really appreciate all the love and聽
support that i get from each one of you out there聽聽
[12]
it truly means a lot to me i'm going to keep聽
this video very raw and casual as possible
[19]
so as you read by the title i truly believe the聽
american dream is a total scam that was sold聽聽
[25]
to our generation so we could forget our dreams聽
and work our asses off to fulfill someone else's聽聽
[30]
dreams by working for them for the people who are聽
not really aware about what the american dream聽聽
[35]
is it is basically a belief that every individual聽
regardless of where you are from or where you were聽聽
[40]
born you can achieve success in the society if聽
you work really really hard every day of your聽聽
[45]
life then you can achieve whatever it is that you聽
want the ideal description of a perfect american聽聽
[50]
dream life is owning a house on a nice street聽
and driving a nice car and have a happy family聽聽
[56]
and live that life for the rest of your time on聽
earth but is that really what we want our lives聽聽
[60]
to be like to afford an american dream life for a聽
person who comes from an average income household聽聽
[66]
is basically expected to graduate out of a good聽
college and get a good degree for which they聽聽
[71]
will probably have to take a student loan to be聽
able to pay for the college and then once they're聽聽
[76]
graduated they're expected to then go out and get聽
a good job that pays you well enough to be able to聽聽
[82]
afford the american dream life and not to mention聽
that you will probably not be living that life聽聽
[88]
right away after graduating because most of your聽
income will go towards payments of your student聽聽
[92]
loan you will probably then spend the next five to聽
ten years working that job that you might not like聽聽
[98]
but you have to work because you need to pay off聽
that debt that you incurred and finally after聽聽
[103]
10 something years you will start to save some聽
money and be able to afford a house and a car聽聽
[107]
and all the things you dreamt about and by then聽
you were already halfway done with your life聽聽
[112]
and somehow if you end up getting past all聽
those hurdles you will again put yourself聽聽
[117]
in debt by getting a mortgage from the bank聽
to live in a house that you always wanted to聽聽
[122]
and then you will spend the rest of your life聽
making payments towards that mortgage technically聽聽
[128]
you don't even own the house until it is fully聽
paid off and that will probably not happen until聽聽
[132]
you're 45 or 50 years old unless you're blessed聽
with rich parents or run a business that's really聽聽
[137]
really thriving and then at 50 you realize聽
that you were not able to do all the things聽聽
[141]
you actually wanted to do in your life because you聽
were busy trying to attain the american dream life聽聽
[148]
we've always been taught that if we work hard聽
enough if we do all the work then we can have聽聽
[153]
it all and achieve all the dreams but that's not聽
really true we spent 18 years of our life going to聽聽
[159]
school and studying hard and getting good grades聽
so we can probably get into a good college and聽聽
[163]
get a good graduate degree from a well-known聽
university but they never really teach us how聽聽
[168]
to truly be successful in life they don't teach聽
us that success is not defined by the material聽聽
[173]
possessions or that success is not about landing聽
the job or being able to afford that expensive聽聽
[178]
lifestyle you learn these things through real life聽
experiences when you get knocked over multiple聽聽
[183]
times you learn that taking care of yourself while聽
you're trying to work hard and make money is very聽聽
[188]
important otherwise you will end up being so聽
exhausted that you won't be able to map out your聽聽
[193]
next steps nor do they teach us how to deal with聽
our own emotions and what to do when we're really聽聽
[198]
struggling with our thoughts and thoughts and聽
opinions of other people around us the definition聽聽
[204]
of the american dream has definitely changed over聽
time and over generations based on what people聽聽
[210]
with more authority or people with more money from聽
each generation have portrayed what an ideal life聽聽
[216]
should look like but there has never really been聽
a good balance in the society the rich get richer聽聽
[221]
the poor get poorer and it's very obvious that all聽
the lower middle class people will look up to the聽聽
[227]
rich and wealthy and want to be like them and work聽
like them and do all the things that they're doing聽聽
[232]
because in the end what we've been taught聽
always is that if you are rich and wealthy then聽聽
[237]
people around you will respect you and pay more聽
attention to what you have to say and that's what聽聽
[243]
us as humans crave i read this somewhere it kind聽
of got stuck into my head and i just wanted to聽聽
[248]
share it with you guys salary is the drug they聽
give us to forget our dreams i mean it is true聽聽
[254]
in so many ways like yes your salary will help聽
you get through your everyday life and help you聽聽
[259]
pay your bills and mortgage on everything but a聽
lot of those expenses and what comes with the kind聽聽
[265]
of lifestyle we choose and so to be able to afford聽
that lifestyle we need that regular salary which聽聽
[270]
in return will kill your dreams you will probably聽
spend all your life fulfilling someone else's聽聽
[275]
dreams by working for them and then in the end聽
when we are taking our last breaths it's not going聽聽
[281]
to matter what kind of house we lived in or what聽
car we drove all we care about is if we had some聽聽
[286]
more time we could have done all the things we聽
had truly desired to do in our life now obviously聽聽
[292]
i'm not saying we should all wake up tomorrow聽
and quit our jobs but i think this is more of a聽聽
[296]
bigger picture conversation that i'm having it's聽
about what we are being fed as a society and the聽聽
[302]
things we are forced to believe and do if we want聽
to survive in this world the economy is changing聽聽
[308]
so fast and things are getting expensive by the聽
day and to really be able to survive you have聽聽
[313]
to go out and get yourself that job that you聽
can't afford to pay for the daily necessities聽聽
[318]
so the question really is when is all this going聽
to end we're already working all the waking hours聽聽
[324]
of our life to be able to afford a mediocre聽
lifestyle now what is next is there a strong聽聽
[330]
enough force from all of us our generation that we聽
are capable of turning things around and actually聽聽
[336]
truly live each day and not slog our asses on聽
a daily basis thank you so much for watching i聽聽
[340]
hope you guys got some value out of this video聽
and i will see you guys in my next video bye
[352]
you
