hey everyone welcome back to my  channel guys i'd like to take a  

moment and thank you all for supporting  this channel and showing so much love  

i really really appreciate all the love and  support that i get from each one of you out there  

it truly means a lot to me i'm going to keep  this video very raw and casual as possible

so as you read by the title i truly believe the  american dream is a total scam that was sold  

to our generation so we could forget our dreams  and work our asses off to fulfill someone else's  

dreams by working for them for the people who are  not really aware about what the american dream  

is it is basically a belief that every individual  regardless of where you are from or where you were  

born you can achieve success in the society if  you work really really hard every day of your  

life then you can achieve whatever it is that you  want the ideal description of a perfect american  

dream life is owning a house on a nice street  and driving a nice car and have a happy family  

and live that life for the rest of your time on  earth but is that really what we want our lives  

to be like to afford an american dream life for a  person who comes from an average income household  

is basically expected to graduate out of a good  college and get a good degree for which they  

will probably have to take a student loan to be  able to pay for the college and then once they're  

graduated they're expected to then go out and get  a good job that pays you well enough to be able to  

afford the american dream life and not to mention  that you will probably not be living that life  

right away after graduating because most of your  income will go towards payments of your student  

loan you will probably then spend the next five to  ten years working that job that you might not like  

but you have to work because you need to pay off  that debt that you incurred and finally after  

10 something years you will start to save some  money and be able to afford a house and a car  

and all the things you dreamt about and by then  you were already halfway done with your life  

and somehow if you end up getting past all  those hurdles you will again put yourself  

in debt by getting a mortgage from the bank  to live in a house that you always wanted to  

and then you will spend the rest of your life  making payments towards that mortgage technically  

you don't even own the house until it is fully  paid off and that will probably not happen until  

you're 45 or 50 years old unless you're blessed  with rich parents or run a business that's really  

really thriving and then at 50 you realize  that you were not able to do all the things  

you actually wanted to do in your life because you  were busy trying to attain the american dream life  

we've always been taught that if we work hard  enough if we do all the work then we can have  

it all and achieve all the dreams but that's not  really true we spent 18 years of our life going to  

school and studying hard and getting good grades  so we can probably get into a good college and  

get a good graduate degree from a well-known  university but they never really teach us how  

to truly be successful in life they don't teach  us that success is not defined by the material  

possessions or that success is not about landing  the job or being able to afford that expensive  

lifestyle you learn these things through real life  experiences when you get knocked over multiple  

times you learn that taking care of yourself while  you're trying to work hard and make money is very  

important otherwise you will end up being so  exhausted that you won't be able to map out your  

next steps nor do they teach us how to deal with  our own emotions and what to do when we're really  

struggling with our thoughts and thoughts and  opinions of other people around us the definition  

of the american dream has definitely changed over  time and over generations based on what people  

with more authority or people with more money from  each generation have portrayed what an ideal life  

should look like but there has never really been  a good balance in the society the rich get richer  

the poor get poorer and it's very obvious that all  the lower middle class people will look up to the  

rich and wealthy and want to be like them and work  like them and do all the things that they're doing  

because in the end what we've been taught  always is that if you are rich and wealthy then  

people around you will respect you and pay more  attention to what you have to say and that's what  

us as humans crave i read this somewhere it kind  of got stuck into my head and i just wanted to  

share it with you guys salary is the drug they  give us to forget our dreams i mean it is true  

in so many ways like yes your salary will help  you get through your everyday life and help you  

pay your bills and mortgage on everything but a  lot of those expenses and what comes with the kind  

of lifestyle we choose and so to be able to afford  that lifestyle we need that regular salary which  

in return will kill your dreams you will probably  spend all your life fulfilling someone else's  

dreams by working for them and then in the end  when we are taking our last breaths it's not going  

to matter what kind of house we lived in or what  car we drove all we care about is if we had some  

more time we could have done all the things we  had truly desired to do in our life now obviously  

i'm not saying we should all wake up tomorrow  and quit our jobs but i think this is more of a  

bigger picture conversation that i'm having it's  about what we are being fed as a society and the  

things we are forced to believe and do if we want  to survive in this world the economy is changing  

so fast and things are getting expensive by the  day and to really be able to survive you have  

to go out and get yourself that job that you  can't afford to pay for the daily necessities  

so the question really is when is all this going  to end we're already working all the waking hours  

of our life to be able to afford a mediocre  lifestyle now what is next is there a strong  

enough force from all of us our generation that we  are capable of turning things around and actually  

truly live each day and not slog our asses on  a daily basis thank you so much for watching i
