think we can all agree that getting 112

hundred dollar check for majority the

people out there is just not enough I

know many of you have already spent this

check on getting caught up on your house

payments your rent bills that you're

behind on groceries you know just all

the basic needs and you know 1200 ollars

is nice but it doesn't go a long way and

you know CNN just reported that another

5.2 million people have filed for
[49]
unemployment over 22 million since all
[53]
this started which i think represents
[56]
just under 14 percent of the entire
[59]
labor workforce in the United States
[62]
which is just staggering and the reality
[65]
is like that number is not going to go
[67]
down anytime soon

so before this $1,200 check before the
[73]
the cares Act was passed you know there

was discussion of a larger check a

multiple $1,200 checks and there was

different ideas different just ideas

that were passed around none of them

have come to fruition yet other than the

12r dollar check that you know it's

still been passed but just yesterday it

was announced that representatives both

Tim Ryan and rohana have reintroduced

like this was a bill that was brought up

over a month ago but it was just really

rebrov but basically this is called the

emergency money for the people's act and

basically what they are trying to do is

instead of one $1,200 check they're
[122]
trying to get it to be $200 a month up

to 12 months and this also would include
[130]
anybody has over the age of 16

and also anybody that has any adults
[136]
that also have disabilities you know

some of the people that were left out of
[139]
the 12 are dollar check that I you've
[142]
either got or you're still waiting on
[143]
theirs you know this is just something
[145]
that has been passed it's just
[146]
resurfaced again and I think as you can

see as you continue to see the
[152]
quarantine continue to linger and still
[157]
be in force and unemployment just so

many businesses are still shut down I

mean I've just read so many different

stories about these small businesses are

just literally holding their breath

waiting hoping that the quarantine is

lifted so that they can reopen their

business and not lose everything that

they have you know and that's just how

scary it is because the fear is losing

everything that they have built

everything that they have grown as

opposed to getting Cova 19 getting
[193]
coronavirus and actually getting sick

and and in potentially dying but I mean

that's just how much stress is on so

many people and the SBA just announced

that you know there is no more no more

funds that are available for small
[210]
businesses have just shut off today in

fact I actually applied it you know for
[215]
my business and I got the big thumbs
[217]
down so I didn't even I didn't get I

didn't have a buddy of mine he found out

that he was able to get his on Monday

some of the people that did get it but
[225]
other people haven't so there are still
[226]
small businesses that were a need that
[228]
didn't get that money but how this
[230]
emergency money for the people act work

so this is the eligibility that they are

I guess this is what's currently how

it's written but they haven't written

where every American age 60 and older
[243]
making less than a hundred and thirty
[246]
thousand dollars annually would receive
[249]
at least $2,000 per month married
[253]
couples earning less than two hundred
[255]
and sixty thousand dollars would receive
[256]
at least $4,000 per month
[259]
qualifying families with children will
[262]
receive an additional $500 per child
[266]
families will receive funds for up to
[268]
three children and this was what's was
[270]
kind of brought up in the the other the
[273]
other acts that didn't get passed but
[275]
they were talking about giving five
[276]
hundred hours but cutting off at at
[278]
three children it gives a quick example
[281]
for example Mary couple making under
[282]
200,000 with three kids would receive
[284]
five thousand five hundred dollars per
[287]
month those who had no earnings were
[289]
unemployed or currently unemployed would
[292]
also be eligible those who were not
[296]
eligible in 2019 or 18 but would be
[299]
eligible in 2020
[301]
two consecutive months of paychecks to
[304]
verify income eligibility the emergency
[308]
money for the People Act also expands to
[310]
hope the program to millions more
[312]
Americans who were excluded from the
[314]
cares cash rebates such as college
[317]
students and adults with disabilities
[319]
who are still claimed as a dependent the
[321]
individual received the payment and
[323]
their parent or guardian will received
[325]
the dependent credit now at least this
[328]

just to even understand like how

devastating this is I mean that it is in

its current form and how lasting the

devastation of this is going to be and

this is even if things were to get

better you'll may the first which is

only a few short weeks away like it's

still devastating on on what this would

mean

whoo sorry like it every time I just I

think about this I just it just weighs

on my heart just thinking about how hard

how much families are struggling now the

chances of this actually passing as is I

would say is very doubtful but I think

we cannot deny that this one check this

one 1200 check this people are still

waiting on and for the the the pp the

PPP loans the SBA to run out of funding

and you know not all the small

businesses get what they needed just

shows like I'm an we this is we've still

got a lot more that needs to be done and

I don't know if the government if it's

their responsibility come in as we've

been and take care of all this

there has to be something though and I'm

not really sure that answer is I

appreciate the fact that you know you

have these two congressmen that are

least trying you know put an effort out

there curious though if you've heard

about this yet what's your thoughts you

know is this something that you think

the government needs to do obviously
