Is it possible to make a full time career in the stock market? Which careers are possible in the stock market?
[6]
I will tell you all in this video so please watch it till the end. I will explain all the career options and its scope
[17]
what should be your action if you want to get into that career
[22]
I am Vivek Bajaj and I am in the market for some time now and I understand what happens in the market
[29]
stock market is a career which we all want to pursue. It seems like we can earn a lot of money and make a good career
[41]
it's not wrong. Once you set a career in the stock market then you can earn a lot, either with your money or someone else's money
[53]
you can earn a lot if you follow to the right career path. In this video I will explain the right path for you
[63]
and the options that you can explore. Let's divide the discussion into two parts
[69]
first you have money and you want to create a career out of that money.
[76]
second you don't have money, either you want to do a job from someone else to make money in the market
[85]
firstly if you have money and if you want to create more money from it then you're involved in the market full time
[94]
then either you are a full time trader or a full time investor, then you need to open an account with a broker
[109]
it can be either a discount broker or a technology broker or traditional broker.
[114]
You need to open an account as a client, deposit your money and start trading or investing
[122]
you don't need any qualifications for this, so you don't need to pass any examination
[132]
if you want to gain more knowledge and become better at it, then there are a lot of courses and YouTube channels
[142]
who are teaching you. Learn from them and become self-reliant and participate in the market
[148]
but for me it's more important to discuss on the other option. If you don't have money and still want to create a career in the stock market
[160]
one option is entering the market and managing someone else's money, or if you want to do a job
[175]
there are some qualification requirements that you need to complete. These are different from your academic qualifications
[187]
if you are pursuing BCom or arts or history. It's not required for you to complete your graduation in Commerce
[198]
you can graduate in any stream, you can be a science student and still enter the stock market
[206]
there is no preference for Commerce students to get a job in the stock market
[213]
it is preferable to be graduated and important to pass the market regulators qualifications and certifications
[227]
I will take this forward tell me about the qualifications of the market regulator. there is an organisation NISM
[236]
National Institute of Securities Markets established by SEBI. if you want to be associated with the market full time
[247]
not with your own money but if you want to do a job or manage someone's money or advise others
[256]
then you need to be certified by NISM. What certificates can you take?
[262]
if you go to the NISM's website and click on certifications, you will get to know the exams that you need to take
[273]
let's go to the certification exams. We have a list of the NISM exams and the purpose
[282]
some example mandatory and some are voluntary. If you want to become a dealer in derivatives
[292]
that means you're working on behalf of the client, the client has to tell you to execute the trade
[307]
if you want to become a dealer in derivatives, then you need to pass the exam in derivatives
[317]
that is NISM series 8, the exams on equity derivatives. You need to pass this
[328]
as soon as you pass this you will get the certificate, approach any broker who can employ you as a dealer
[338]
if you want to trade in commodities or currency or interest rate, NISM has created an exam called common derivative exam
[350]
NISM Series 13. If you pass this exam, then you can be employed under any broker for any asset
[364]
the first step if you want to become an employee in the stock market and apply to any broker
[373]
then I will recommend you to give NISM Series 13 exam, pass it and apply for job with any broker
[383]
second if you don't want to become a dealer but advice your clients or give recommendations to buy or sell a stock with stop loss and take profit
[400]
recommended sector to buy, or give any research oriented Input and become an employee, then you need to clear the NISM's research exam
[415]
That is the NISM Series 15. There are two occupations in research analysis. One you can become an employee in a broking firm or a research firm
[427]
Or you can start your own research as an independent research provider. Even this is a very good occupation
[435]
and a lot of people are adapting to this occupation. They're Independent and not associated with any broking firm
[443]
it is their own research firm and provide research services against a monthly compensation or a quarterly compensation from the client
[454]
After taking the certificate of research analyst, you need to take a license of research analyst from SEBI
[465]
for you to start your own Research Analysis. If you go to a company as an employee,
[472]
then that company must have already taken the license under the research analysis regulation
[478]
you just need to add yourself there. But if you want to start your own, when you can start as an individual or as a firm
[486]
if you want the license of research analysis then you need to pass this exam and apply in the SEBI's website
[495]
they have a certain criteria provide you the license, and you need to continuously pass this exam as each exam has an expiry period
[510]
you need to keep asking this exam so that you can continue the license. You can get the details in SEBI website
[522]
I am not covering the details but I will once I get the opportunity
[532]
if you want to become an investment advisor. These are two different things
[538]
research analyst job is to provide research, they don't care whether the client is using the research or not
[545]
if you want to become an investment advisor then you are advising the client to invest in a Portfolio or in a stock
[556]
it's very personalised and client-specific, when you need to take a license of investment advisory
[564]
you need to pass an exam for investment advisory's license. There's an exam 10A
[571]
Both 10A and 10B are related to advisory, but you need to pass the 10A, it's mandatory
[579]
and apply with the SEBI for an investment advisor which has its own criteria
[587]
you need to pass this exam. What's the difference? Research analyst only provides the research
[594]
they cannot advise. Investment advisors advise people which is client specific and not generic
[604]
if you become my client then I need to know you. I need to do your KYC( know your client), ask for your information
[614]
I will advise as per the information. KYC is not required for research analysts, they don't want to know which clients are consuming the research
[625]
if you want to pursue a full time occupation in the share market as a professional and not as a client
[637]
you can open any account with the broker as a client, and you don't need to pass any exam for that
[644]
but if you want to enter the market as a full time professional,
[648]
then you can either become a dealer or a research analyst or an investment advisor
[655]
These three are the broader occupation options available. Can you become employable after clearing these exams?
[664]
the more qualifications you have, the more knowledgeable you project, the higher opportunities for you to create your business
[677]
if you talk about employee ability, then a CA, a CFA or an MBA finance along with the NISM certificate will have higher chances of getting a job
[689]
if we talk about business then if you go to a client with just an NISM certificate, then it won't be sufficient
[698]
you might need an add on qualification. That's why if you have CA CFA or CFP or any other add on qualification
[711]
which is globally recognised, then you will benefit from it. If you were not able to clear CA CFA or CFPA
[720]
but you still want to create a profession in the stock market, then NSE Academy which is a part of NSE provides a lot of courses.
[731]
that is this one course which we have also partnered with, it's called CRTA.
[737]
if you go to the NSE's website, you'll see the program CRTA.
[742]
CRTA program gives you comprehensive knowledge where you have the potential to become a research analyst, trade and become an advisor
[757]
those who cannot do CFA as it is expensive and it takes a lot of time. They can do the CRTA qualification
[767]
and take the NISM's qualification. You need to do the CRTA along with NISM's qualification
[774]
you will not get the final CRTA certificate if you do not do it. You can do this specialised certificate to apply for a job in the market
[786]
my experience of running CRTA, almost 650 people have taken this program
[792]
typically people start their own business after taking this program. Either they become sub broker
[801]
sub broker is when you get associated with any broker and start working with your client or become a research analyst
[808]
start selling their own research to clients, or become investment Advisors
[814]
and fulfill their client's financial needs in equity, mutual funds, and insurance
[822]
you can either complete those qualifications and the NISM qualifications and apply to SEBI
[833]
as an independent professional or you can apply for a job in a company.
[839]
In both the cases an add on qualification increases the chances of your success
[847]
this was a small introduction and how you can start in the market full time
[855]
I hope you like it. I will provide the CRTA qualification link in the video
[861]
check out our website if you want to explore that course. NISM certification is a standard practice
[870]
you can apply from here and get all the details in this website. Some NISM certifications are add on
[879]
you can do it if you want to but from a job oriented or an employability oriented or profession oriented
[887]
the information I have given you sufficient. You do an add on if you want for more benefits and a better resume and higher employability chances
[899]
this was a small initiative to tell you the different types of occupation in the share market
[906]
I hope you liked it and you share this initiative with others and spread awareness to those who want to make a full time career in the market
[918]
thank you friends
