[1]
- [Host] Hey, are you
looking for something to play
[3]
on your PS5 or PS4 in 2022?
[6]
Well, we've got you covered
with a bunch of games here.
[8]
Also there are even more games out there
[10]
that we couldn't even fit on this list.
[11]
So, we're looking forward to
hearing your own personal lists
[14]
in the comments.
[15]
Be sure to leave one.
[15]
But anyway, let's get started
off here with number 20.
[18]
The Day Before.
[19]
This looks like The Last
of Us meets The Division.
[22]
It's an open world, survival MMO,
[24]
where you're, you guessed
it, fighting to survive.
[27]
It has your typical survival stuff
[29]
like crafting and looting
resources wherever you go,
[32]
while fighting off other
survivors and zombies.
[35]
We've gotten a good amount
of gameplay from this,
[37]
and it's shaping up to be
everything we've ever wanted
[39]
from this type of game.
[40]
Some sort of zombie survival MMO.
[43]
Like, this is what a lot
of us wanted from Day Z
[46]
in a really cool city area
with great atmosphere.
[49]
We're really hoping it's able to live up
[51]
to the expectation that it's setting.
[53]
Now, next over at number
19, Gotham Knights
[56]
should be releasing this
year after many delays.
[59]
And this is a new take on the Bat family
[61]
in a cooperative beat
'em up Arkham-style game.
[64]
Technically this does not take
place in the Arkham timeline.
[66]
It's a different thing.
[67]
This is by Warner Brothers Montreal,
[69]
the folks behind the underrated
Batman Arkham Origins,
[72]
and this open world Gotham game pits you
[74]
as the Bat family members
dealing with the fact
[76]
that Batman and Commissioner
Gordon are dead,
[78]
and they have to face off
[79]
against a bunch of
classic Gotham villains,
[81]
as well as the Court of Owls.
[83]
A lot of people thought
this was just gonna be
[84]
like a straight up live service game,
[86]
but apparently you can play
it completely on your own
[88]
and just enjoy the story,
which makes us very happy.
[91]
And you cannot but
really love that Arkham,
[93]
beat 'em up style combat.
[95]
It's here again,
[96]
but with more cooperative elements,
[97]
and way more abilities specific to each
[100]
very unique character.
[101]
And the story, if it's just a
good Batman, Bat family story,
[104]
it could be awesome.
[105]
We're keeping an eye on this
one because we just love Batman
[107]
and comic books, so keep your eyes peeled.
[109]
Now, next over at number
18, let's talk Evil West.
[112]
Have you ever wanted to be a cool
[114]
western version of Van Helsing?
[116]
Well, like, Evil West will
let you seemingly actually
[119]
live that out.
[120]
You play as a vampire hunting cowboy man
[122]
as you make your way
through the vampire hoards
[125]
that are terrorizing this fictional west.
[127]
Combat here looks really intense
[130]
and you'll have a bunch of
different vampire hunting tools
[132]
and weapons at your disposal.
[134]
It seems like the combat can
get pretty intense and gory,
[137]
and it has some real
gross looking enemies.
[139]
And, even better than that,
[141]
you can also play with a friend.
[142]
We're just big fans
[143]
of anything vampire-related
here at Gameranx.
[145]
And we're also fans of
games that kind of look
[148]
and give off the vibe and kind
of bring back the memories
[150]
of those like mid-2000s action games
[152]
that were really unique and weird.
[153]
More of this type of
stuff, please. Sign us up.
[156]
Now next over at number 17,
we have King of Fighters 15.
[160]
What more is there to be said about a game
[162]
on its 15th entry?
[164]
The people behind the
King of Fighters games
[166]
really absolutely know what they're doing.
[168]
This time around, it's
launching with 39 fighters
[171]
that'll be available at launch.
[173]
There's the three-v-three battle system
[175]
making its return, with
a shatter strike mechanic
[179]
that should hopefully make
things a little bit interesting
[181]
for veteran players.
[182]
And the campaign is actually
getting hyped up quite a bit
[184]
this time around, and will apparently end
[186]
with an explosive climax.
[188]
Now, it's been like six
years since the release
[191]
of the last entry in the series.
[192]
And this one seems like it's shaping up
[194]
to be the best one yet.
[195]
I mean, what more could you want?
[196]
They've had 15 games. I think
they've figured it out by now.
[200]
Next over at number 16, we
have Showa American Story.
[204]
This is a wild and weird,
seemingly experimental game
[207]
that we think we're gonna
be talking about a bit more
[209]
on the channel.
[210]
This takes place in a weird
alternate history world
[213]
in like a hyper sci-fi 80s,
[216]
where Japan occupies the United States,
[218]
and you're just this badass chick
[220]
kicking ass with Matlock combat and guns.
[222]
It's an action RPG that clearly
references a lot of B movies
[226]
from all different cultures.
[227]
It's seemingly open world
[229]
and has a bunch of human
characters and monster characters.
[232]
And it just looks chaotic
and really awesome.
[235]
Like, just looking at the game play.
[236]
Like, I don't even
really know what to say.
[238]
It seems over the top.
[239]
We love brawlers like this,
[240]
but we also just love
chaotic monster shooters.
[242]
And of course, if it's got
open world RPG elements,
[245]
that could be great.
[246]
At first, you might write it
as corny and over the top,
[248]
but it seems like that's the point here.
[250]
It's really trying to go for something.
[252]
It seems like the work on
this one is going strong
[253]
and we're really hoping we see it in 2022.
[256]
Next over at number 15, we have Sifu.
[258]
What more can we say about this game
[260]
that we haven't already said?
[261]
This challenging game
is all set around you
[263]
really setting out on a quest for revenge,
[265]
punching your way through five intense,
[268]
difficult, grindy levels,
learning the basics,
[271]
learning the ins and outs
and how to flawlessly finish
[273]
a level and complete the
boss without dying too much,
[276]
because every time you die,
you get older and older.
[279]
And if you get too old, it's game over.
[281]
There's a lot more to it,
[282]
a lot more nuance that we
don't have time to cover.
[284]
Be sure to check out our
Before You Buy Review video
[286]
or any other review out there.
[288]
But we think it's one of the
best games of the year so far.
[290]
We know it's early, it's only February,
[292]
but still, definitely check this one out
[294]
if you haven't already.
[296]
Now next over at number 14,
[297]
we have the Star Wars Knights
of the Old Republic Remake,
[300]
which interestingly enough
is going to be exclusive
[302]
to PlayStation consoles and PC.
[305]
Star Wars and the company that owns it
[306]
are very different than
the last time we had
[309]
Knights of the Old Republic, so really,
[311]
the jury's still out on this one.
[312]
It's up in the air. This
is a complete remake.
[314]
Apparently it might
expand on some elements.
[316]
It might change some things.
We really don't know too much.
[318]
We're hoping that we
get to see it in 2022.
[321]
Apparently this has been
in the works for a bit,
[323]
but we'll have to just wait and see.
[326]
Next over at number 13,
we have Steelrising.
[328]
This is from Spiders, the
developers behind Bound by Flame,
[332]
Mars Wars Logs, the Technomancer,
[334]
but also the pretty awesome GreedFall.
[336]
Steelrising just looks
like an awesome, sick-ass,
[339]
action combat game set in
a really unique setting.
[342]
It's Paris, 1789,
[344]
but things are a little bit different.
[346]
You actually play
[346]
as kind of like a clockwork
mannequin called Aegis.
[350]
And it just looks absolutely like a blast.
[352]
You have challenging,
fast-paced, intense combat,
[355]
but you have this unique, weird
alternate history aesthetic
[358]
with Paris, and the mood and
atmosphere is dark and creepy.
[362]
The enemy types and monsters look sick,
[364]
and we're just really
hoping this one shapes up
[366]
to be awesome.
[367]
GreedFall was really unique.
[368]
Spiders has worked on a bunch of games
[370]
that we weren't really fans of,
[372]
but they've worked their
way up to something awesome,
[374]
and we're hoping Steelrising
[375]
is really the pinnacle of their work.
[378]
Next over at number 12, we have Stray.
[380]
This is the cat game you've seen,
[381]
probably revealed at one
of the Play Station events.
[384]
Apparently this is going to be
a semi-open ended adventure,
[386]
where you play as a cat
who picks up some abilities
[389]
along the way.
[390]
And it just seems charming
and clever and thrilling.
[393]
I know, I never thought I would say
[394]
a cat game looks thrilling,
[396]
but like just look at the trailer.
[398]
Look at the game plays we've had so far.
[399]
We need more creative, outside
the box games like this,
[402]
so we're always gonna
celebrate stuff like this.
[404]
And we hope this is awesome.
[405]
Stray is slated for
PlayStation consoles in 2022.
[410]
Now, next over at number 11,
[411]
we have Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.
[413]
This is the Borderland spinoff
[415]
that takes Tiny Tina's
wild and crazy imagination
[418]
and makes it a full game.
[419]
It's a send up on D&D and
all medieval-style stuff.
[423]
And it seems like a refreshing
spin on Borderlands.
[425]
It's a little bit more fantasy-oriented
[427]
with you making your own character.
[429]
You're fighting way more over-the-top,
[431]
fantastical enemies and
creatures with a different theme.
[434]
Less sci-fi, more crazy fantasy,
[436]
and more of that Borderlands
signature gameplay and humor.
[439]
This one's releasing March 25th, 2022.
[443]
Next over at number 10,
we have Hogwarts Legacy.
[445]
Now this game has been
delayed quite a bit.
[447]
It's been in the works for a long time.
[449]
Remember those leaks back in the day?
[451]
Man, it's felt like a
long time since then,
[453]
but Hogwarts Legacy, according
to reports most recently,
[457]
is going to out this year.
[459]
There were conflicting reports earlier
[460]
where we wouldn't see
it, but we think 2022
[463]
is finally gonna be the year.
[464]
This open ended, make
your own Hogwarts student
[467]
and go on your own adventure type thing
[468]
seems pretty awesome.
[469]
It set much earlier in
the history of Hogwarts
[473]
as an institution,
[474]
and we're excited to see
something different and new
[476]
in the world of Harry Potter,
[477]
'cause frankly, those
Fantastic Beasts movies
[479]
aren't really doing it for us.
[480]
Fingers crossed this one is good.
[482]
Now next over at number nine,
we have Little Devil Inside.
[485]
This was announced two
years ago, June, 2020,
[489]
and it looks like it'll finally
be coming out this year.
[491]
Everything about this game
[492]
has just really peaked our interest.
[494]
From its really kind of cutsie,
[496]
but really intriguing art style
[498]
to the little comedic bits we've
gotten in all the trailers,
[502]
and even the monster
hunter-esque game play.
[504]
Yes, every time we see this game,
[506]
it looks more and more interesting.
[508]
You're gonna be traveling around
[509]
through all different
types of environments,
[511]
hunting down monsters,
[512]
which you can do with a friend via co-op.
[514]
So, get ready to do some
cool monster hunting
[516]
in this weird Indie artsy style,
[518]
and possibly get your ass kicked.
[520]
It actually looks pretty challenging.
[522]
Now, next over at number
eight, we have Atomic Heart.
[525]
What more can we say about this game?
[527]
This weird alternate history,
Soviet, open ended adventure.
[531]
Takes a lot of cues from
BioShock and System Shock,
[534]
with a bunch of makeshift weaponry
[535]
and weird freaks and sci-fi
monsters to fight off,
[538]
and robots and man,
everything about this game,
[541]
just oozes style and creativity.
[543]
And we love seeing stuff like this.
[544]
We hope this game is as
awesome as it has seemed
[547]
since the beginning,
[548]
which we've been following
it from pretty much day one.
[550]
We don't have an exact date,
[552]
but they have just now confirmed
[553]
that this is releasing in 2022,
[556]
seemingly towards the end
of the year in the fall.
[559]
Next over at number
seven, we have Saints Row.
[561]
They are rebooting Saints Row.
[563]
I don't think they could
have taken it any further
[565]
or any crazier than they already have,
[567]
so they're bringing it a
little bit back down to earth,
[570]
but still with a chaotic
group of characters
[572]
and action and explosions and weirdness,
[574]
all in a new kind of
Southwestern setting, a new city.
[578]
You're gonna be able to
create your own character
[579]
and go on weird hi jinks.
[581]
And the gameplay we've seen so far
[582]
does seem to remind me very
much of Saints Row 2 and 3
[585]
from an action gameplay perspective,
[587]
but the jury's still out.
[588]
We need to see more of this game.
[590]
Thankfully though, we'll
get to see it this summer.
[592]
It's slated for August 23rd, 2022.
[595]
Next over at number six, we
have A Plague Tale Requiem.
[598]
This is the sequel to
one of our favorite games
[601]
the year it released, A
Plague Tale Innocence.
[603]
Once again, you are taking the helm
[605]
of the two main characters.
[607]
You're gonna be thrust in new,
[608]
a little bit more exotic location
[610]
with way more abilities and
way more combat capabilities
[613]
thanks to Amicia seemingly
becoming a badass
[615]
over course of the last game.
[617]
And from the trailers we've seen so far,
[618]
it seems like once again,
[619]
we're getting absolutely
downright, gorgeous graphics.
[621]
Cool and really horrific
and creepy, gross scenarios.
[625]
New characters, returning characters.
[628]
And we can't wait, man.
[629]
As of right now, it's slated for 2022.
[632]
And next at number five,
we have Ghostwire Tokyo,
[635]
the newest game from Tango GameWorks.
[637]
Tokyo's population in this game
just disappeared, vanished.
[641]
And now there are a bunch of spooky,
[643]
scary, supernatural
monsters roaming around.
[646]
Honestly, this isn't something
[647]
that we were very much into.
[649]
Sounded kind of boring
[651]
until the last bit of gameplay we saw.
[652]
The newest stuff from this game
[654]
makes it look absolutely awesome.
[655]
The combat looks really interesting
[657]
and different for a first-person game.
[659]
It also kind of looks
like the Dr. Strange FPS
[662]
that we didn't know we wanted.
[664]
This might actually be
the last PS5 exclusive
[668]
Bethesda game since
Microsoft acquired Bethesda.
[670]
And hopefully it's a good one.
[671]
Ghostwire Tokyo is
releasing March 25th, 2022.
[676]
Next over at number
four, we have Elden Ring.
[678]
What more can we say about this one?
[680]
It's FromSoftware's latest and greatest.
[682]
They're the folks behind
Bloodborne, Sekiro,
[684]
and of course, Dark
Souls and Demon's Souls.
[687]
This time around they're taking
[688]
that beloved challenging formula
[689]
and placing it in an open world setting,
[691]
but of course, with their
own creative spin on things.
[695]
We've got crazy monster designs,
[696]
over-the-top environments,
[698]
and a story framework established
by George R. R. Martin,
[702]
the Game of Thrones guy himself.
[704]
Of course, Miyazaki and
the rest of the crew
[705]
really took that and ran with it here.
[707]
But it seems like it's
shaping up to be a wild game.
[709]
And after long anticipation,
[711]
we'll finally be playing it in February,
[713]
and we really hope it
lives up to the hype.
[715]
Now next over at number three,
we have Grand Turismo 7 .
[718]
The developers behind these games,
[719]
Polyphony Digital, take a
long time crafting these games
[722]
and it always really shows.
[724]
Their attention to detail
is absolutely insane.
[727]
If you're looking for a hardcore,
[729]
realistic simulation style racing game,
[732]
Grand Turismo 7 might
be your dream come true.
[735]
The game is expanded
with more cars than ever.
[737]
Tons of tweaking, lots of options,
[740]
lots of menus to dig through,
[742]
because these games are
kind of famous for it.
[743]
And pretty much some of the best
[745]
and most gorgeous racing game
graphics we've ever seen.
[748]
And it's finally releasing
[750]
on both PlayStation
consoles March 4th, 2022.
[754]
Now down to number two,
Horizon Forbidden West.
[757]
This is Aloy's next adventure
[759]
picking up directly
after Horizon Zero Dawn.
[763]
This time around the worlds are bigger.
[764]
You have more abilities,
more items, more traps,
[767]
more gadgets at your disposal
in a more dangerous world.
[771]
You also have way more
capability for getting a around,
[773]
including climbing, grappling,
hooking and paragliding.
[777]
And this game is shaping
up to be pretty awesome.
[779]
Reviews have dropped.
[780]
It seems like people
are really digging it.
[782]
As of the time of making this video,
[784]
the general gaming audience
[785]
hasn't gotten their hands on it yet,
[786]
but it seems like it's
shaping up to be pretty great.
[789]
Now down to number one,
we have the big one.
[791]
We're hoping it releases this year.
[793]
It's God of War Ragnrok.
[795]
This is the next leg in
Kratos' and Atreus' journey.
[798]
We loved God of War 2018.
[800]
It was an incredible game
[801]
and we thought it was
a really cool new spin
[803]
on the classic God of War stuff,
[805]
that definitely plays kind of different,
[807]
but doesn't lose its identity.
[809]
It still makes sense and
it still feels right,
[810]
and we're hoping Ragnarok can
really continue that trend,
[813]
because it does seem like they're going
[814]
bigger and better here.
[815]
More moves, more enemies, a
bigger world, more variety.
[819]
We just hope that it
really keeps its hooks
[822]
in that delicious story.
[824]
It's simple. It's compelling.
[825]
It's good. And we can't
wait to see where it goes.
[827]
That's really the long and short of it.
[829]
Those are a bunch of PS4 and PS5 games,
[830]
but we got a couple of bonus ones
[832]
we wanna shout out as well.
[833]
We have Lies of P,
[834]
which we think is releasing
in late 2022 or 2023.
[838]
Sniper Elite 5, Forespoken,
[841]
Elex 2, Stranger of Paradise,
Final Fantasy Origin.
[846]
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is awesome.
[849]
Marvel's Midnight Suns.
[852]
Sonic finally goes open
world with Sonic Frontiers.
[855]
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
[858]
Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga.
[861]
And OlliOlli World.
[862]
Those are a bunch of games
that we think are awesome
[864]
or at least are worth
looking forward to in 2022.
[868]
Fingers crossed that all
these games are great
[869]
and that none of them get delayed.
[871]
That's wishful thinking, of course,
[872]
but this is a roundup,
[874]
and of course we wanna
hear your personal list,
[876]
like we said, down in the comments.
[877]
If you got your own top five, top 10
[879]
of games you're looking forward to playing
[881]
on your Sony console, let us know.
[883]
If you enjoyed this video though,
[884]
and maybe you learned about a new game,
[885]
clicking the like
button's all you gotta do.
[887]
It really helps us out.
[888]
And if you're new, consider subscribing,
[890]
maybe hitting that notification bell,
[891]
because we put out videos every
single day, but as always,
[894]
thanks for watching.
[895]
We'll see you guys next time.
