Channel: UBLA UNripped
[1]
Woooow! Hey hi guys welcome back. Today we're gonna do part
[5]
two of why do small businesses fail. And if you
[9]
haven't watched part one look in the description below - go and check it out now.
[13]
Sso let's get started!
[32]
maybe small businesses fail because they
can't see the smoke because of the trees
[36]
or is it the trees because of the smoke
[40]
i chose a secluded spot and i got the
whole
[44]
of nature coming at me and we put a
little bit of smoke to get rid of the
[46]
mosquitoes quick we use lemongrass it's
really cool
[49]
hey why do small businesses fail uh
great question go and watch the other
[53]
video if you've not seen that yet watch
them in sequences a series
[57]
small businesses fail for many reasons
it's not one single reason
[61]
it's a compounded reason one stacks on
top of the other
[64]
and it's like a a house with a weak
foundation
[68]
so small businesses fail and second
reason
[71]
is because the teams are not created
properly
[76]
they're not created at the right time
small business people
[80]
are often previously an employee so
that's a certain mindset
[85]
they then may become self-employed so
they might think they're in business but
[88]
they're actually self-employed
self-employed and business are not the
[92]
same thing
the difference is very simple business
[95]
means you go to bed
sleep wake up in the morning got more
[99]
money in your bank account that's a
simple definition
[104]
when you're self-employed you go to bed
you stop work no build hours
[111]
so small businesses fail the second
reason
[114]
because small business owners don't
understand
[119]
about building teams the right time to
build a team
[122]
just have a look at this clip here and
you'll see perfect team building in
[126]
action
this is a bunch of ants you'll see all
[128]
these ants they've
got total team coordination they're a
[133]
brilliant team
look you see the big ants the small ants
[135]
some are carriers some are walkers
some are protectors some are they're a
[139]
perfect team
small business owners are afraid of
[144]
building a team
number one is the cost think well how do
[147]
i pay for them
the mindset of a successful business
[150]
person is not about how do i pay for
them
[153]
it's like how do i create more business
to be able to pay for them
[157]
because a small business owner tends to
do things in small ways
[160]
a business owner will only grow into a
bigger business
[164]
once they actually understand that they
have to build a team it's very very
[167]
important to build a team
and not be afraid to build the team so
[170]
you ask yourself the question where do
you get the money to build the team
[172]
where do you get the resources to build
the team
[174]
well you can be very creative when we
were doing um
[177]
bouncing olive in australia we had 20
people
[180]
living in our house and they were
volunteers
[184]
and we lived in the garage now
it's a three-car garage with a with a
[189]
with a bathroom and a shower and
everything so it was pretty luxurious
[193]
but we let everybody else go into the
into the house they lived in the house
[198]
and every day we jumped into our tirago
van we went down to our shop and
[202]
produced our amazing meals
that's how we got started that's how we
[205]
build the tin because we didn't have the
cash
[207]
so creativity will help you one so you
must get over the fear of building a
[211]
team
if you're a small business owner so that
[214]
you can actually grow
don't be afraid about trying to pay for
[218]
it
find ways of how to create it right now
[221]
ubla
we don't have cash flow i'm not putting
[224]
any personal money in or very little
so it has no supporters no sponsors
[228]
right now but we've got
team there's three team members four
[232]
team members if you include kyra
and basically they're volunteers that
[236]
want to be inspired by the project
so that's a great interesting story as
[240]
well if your project is inspiring
you'll attract people to actually be
[244]
part of your team now i'm getting a
little bit off track
[247]
so this is the core message today don't
be afraid
[251]
to hire people don't be afraid to make
mistakes
[255]
don't be afraid to grow because
what happens if you don't hire a team
[261]
you will be tired
tired tired tired and worn out
[267]
now what's going to happen to your
business when that happens
[270]
where's your cash flow going to go are
you going to be if you're public facing
[274]
going to be a happy face every day
so people start noticing that you're
[278]
very miserable
and they'll stop coming before you're
[282]
happy and going
outgoing but you suddenly become
[285]
miserable and they don't know why
but you know they don't realize you're
[288]
working 20 hours a day and get four
hours sleeping you're looking after the
[291]
little kids
so if you want to grow as a business you
[296]
must
employ people don't be afraid to do that
[300]
take the steps and try to get people
into business for free
[304]
volunteers students people who want
their experience
[308]
younger children our youngest team
member is seven
[311]
in our team for ubla the next is 12.
coronavirus there's no school so they're
[316]
all being part of what we're doing
we're roping them in our 12 year old
[320]
gisele actually gets paige gets paid
not a lot but here in the philippines
[324]
it's actually quite a lot and she helps
with the back end production and she's
[328]
learning
better than going to school
[332]
so that's my message today be brave
take a big breath and start bringing
[338]
people into your business
learn how to hire people look at this as
[342]
a final story here
look at this this is from the previous
[345]
video you'll see the lady on the left
she's called maya and basically maya was
[351]
our very first team member in that
business that was fast feast in new
[354]
zealand
and we hired her the day after we opened
[358]
the shop
we opened the shop worked at what was
[360]
going on and the day after we hired her
and she was the team leader so we hired
[364]
the person at the top we then brought
two people underneath her
[368]
and we were successful in the business
we made so much money
[371]
we had so much energy and so much
creativity and time to put
[374]
effort and energy into marketing which
is
[377]
money generating instead of behind the
counter making chips making sandwiches
[382]
we did marketing we went to our highest
core value
[386]
and delivered our highest core value so
that's what you must do in a small
[389]
business you must
constantly elevate yourself to get to
[392]
your highest core value and deliver that
and bring team in underneath you as you
[397]
go so
my name is david anthony give me a
[400]
thumbs up if you like what was going on
today and you got value i hope we're
[403]
giving a lot of value

about
[408]
why do small businesses fail so remember

[412]
