93 Hours and 1600 Legendary Lost Sectors Later... - YouTube

[0]
i ran every single legendary lost sector
[2]
in the game so i could debunk the myths
[4]
i've seen spread around and answer the
[6]
questions so many players have like is
[9]
there something going on if you haven't
[11]
gotten an exotic to drop in what feels
[13]
like too long of a time questions about
[15]
what the exotic drop rate is do all of
[17]
the lost sectors have the same exotic
[19]
drop rate what are the best and worst
[22]
lost sectors to farm and then some myths
[24]
i've seen like is there a cooldown where
[26]
it's impossible to get an exotic drop
[29]
again until so much time has passed this
[31]
video will answer the biggest questions
[33]
everyone has about legendary lost
[35]
sectors and clear up anything that you
[38]
still might not understand about what's
[39]
going on if you're farming for exotics
[42]
or trying to get the last exotic that
[45]
you still need this whole project took
[47]
about 93 hours farming inside of lost
[50]
sectors alone not taking into account
[53]
the low time at the start and the end or
[56]
any random error codes that would kick
[58]
me out it would make all of that time i
[60]
spent worth it if you could just hit the
[62]
like button on the video let's start
[64]
with the first question i know many of
[66]
you want to know what is the drop rate
[68]
for legendary lost sectors why am i not
[71]
getting an exotic to drop after so many
[73]
runs the drop rate for legendary lost
[76]
sectors is about 25
[78]
that is if you get a platinum ranking
[81]
every time from killing every champion
[84]
that has spawned that doesn't mean you
[85]
need to wait to open the chest until
[87]
every champion spawns you can pull the
[89]
chest if there's no champions alive but
[92]
as soon as you see the text in the
[94]
bottom corner of your screen that a
[95]
champion has spawned don't open the
[97]
chest or you hurt your drop chances out
[100]
of 1600 legendary lost sectors that i
[103]
ran attract i got
[105]
393 exotics that puts the drop rate at
[108]
about 24.56
[110]
which means that if you run enough lost
[112]
sectors you know like 1600 of them
[115]
you'll get an exotic about once every
[118]
four runs that doesn't mean that if you
[120]
go run four right after this video that
[122]
you'll get one exotic to show from it
[124]
you can look at the spreadsheet of all
[125]
the runs i tracked and find sections
[127]
where three exotics dropped within four
[129]
runs two exotics or even no exotics had
[132]
dropped for a lot longer than four lost
[135]
sectors every time you open that chest
[138]
you're rolling a four-sided dice hoping
[140]
to get lucky the next question i have an
[143]
answer for is a myth that i've seen
[144]
passed around that while it means well
[147]
it's giving people some false hope the
[149]
question people ask is is there a
[151]
cooldown before i can get an exotic
[153]
again this question gets asked because
[155]
there's a myth that circles around to
[157]
explain why someone hasn't gotten exotic
[160]
to drop in what feels like a really long
[162]
time there's absolutely nothing in the
[165]
data that suggests that there's any sort
[166]
of cooldown where after a certain amount
[168]
of time a flip switches and your next
[171]
chest is gonna have an exotic there was
[174]
a long 30 run stretch where i got zero
[176]
exotics that's almost two hours without
[179]
an exotic to drop and then immediately
[181]
after that five exotics dropped over the
[184]
next eight lost sectors with literally
[187]
nothing changing it was the same exact
[189]
loss sector for all 38 runs and about
[191]
the same completion time for each run
[194]
there were also sometimes when exotic
[196]
dropped back to back three times so i
[198]
can confidently say that there is
[201]
absolutely no hidden cooldown timer
[204]
preventing you from getting an exotic to
[206]
drop it's just the same four-sided dice
[208]
roll every time you open the chest
[209]
there's nothing in the game working
[211]
against you just get the platinum
[213]
ranking and eventually you'll get a drop
[216]
so this begs the question if legend lost
[218]
sectors have about a 25 drop chance for
[221]
exotics and master lost sectors are
[224]
supposed to be a higher chance what's
[226]
actually better for farming legend or
[229]
master months ago i ran over 150 master
[233]
lost sectors and got about a 23 percent
[235]
exotic drop rate which i even admitted
[237]
then was probably lower than the actual
[240]
drop rate because 150 runs wasn't really
[243]
high enough to pinpoint the drop rate
[245]
like having the data from 1600 legend
[248]
runs is looking at other people that
[250]
were tracking their master runs the best
[252]
that i could find was about a 33 drop
[255]
rate with master and master taking about
[258]
two to three minutes longer to run than
[260]
legend so let's say that the average
[262]
legendary lost sector takes about three
[264]
minutes to clear some of them do some of
[266]
them don't like the moon loss sectors
[268]
take a lot longer on average with some
[271]
napkin math if you have an hour that
[273]
means you can do 20 legendary lost
[275]
sectors not accounting for any load
[277]
times and with a 25 drop rate that's 5
[280]
exotics per hour if masters take you 2
[283]
minutes longer on average which is being
[285]
pretty generous 5 minute runs means you
[288]
get 12 chances for exotics per hour and
[290]
using a 33 drop chance for master lost
[293]
sectors you'll have 4 exotics to show
[296]
for in one hour so what this tells us is
[298]
that in the best circumstances where a
[301]
master lost sector only takes you an
[303]
extra two minutes to complete where the
[305]
enemies you fight are even more powerful
[307]
and you're even weaker and there's even
[310]
more barriers to entry for master than
[312]
legend all of that just to get the same
[315]
amount of exotics for your time or
[317]
actually even less exotics for your time
[319]
on master compared to legend just do
[322]
yourself a favor and stick to legend for
[324]
farming or you'll wind up like me and
[326]
spend almost 100 hours in the lost
[328]
sector the next answer i want to give
[331]
answers a few variations of the same
[333]
question so if you've wondered why the
[335]
new season exotic hasn't dropped for you
[337]
but other exotics have why do i keep
[340]
getting the same exotics instead of the
[342]
exotic that i actually want is bungie
[344]
weighing certain exotics more in favor
[346]
of other exotics to drop or do certain
[348]
lost sectors only drop specific exotics
[351]
as opposed to other exotics the data i
[353]
collected seems to suggest that there is
[355]
something going on but what that is is
[358]
probably not what many of you think let
[360]
me explain when you open the chest you
[362]
roll a four-sided dice to see if you're
[364]
gonna be lucky enough for an exotic to
[365]
drop if you are the system then looks at
[368]
what exotic is dropping that day and
[370]
sees if you're missing any exotics in
[372]
that filter so let's say today is
[373]
dropping boots and you're missing the
[375]
radian dance machines on your hunter if
[377]
that's the only hunter boots you're
[378]
missing then the exotic you're going to
[380]
get from the chest is the radiant dance
[381]
machines the chest basically has a
[383]
knockout system that first prioritizes
[386]
exotics that you're missing so if the
[388]
system is already weighing the chances
[390]
of some things dropping more than other
[392]
things would that same system also weigh
[395]
other exotics more or less even outside
[397]
of that knockout system maybe you're
[399]
trying to farm harder venmo's lights
[400]
like i was for a titan build i was
[402]
working on or maybe you're trying to get
[404]
a good roll on a new exotic from this
[406]
season are you fighting an rng system
[409]
that doesn't want you to get what you
[410]
want in my opinion backed by all of this
[412]
data there does not appear to be any
[415]
sort of mechanic that is weighing any
[417]
exotics over any other exotics even if
[419]
an exotic is brand new for example i ran
[422]
the quarry legendary lost sector 100
[424]
times last season and got multiple cures
[426]
of the falling star exotic chess pieces
[428]
to drop on my titan this was the first
[430]
season this exotic was available and it
[432]
was dropping about the same as any other
[434]
exotic chess piece on titan out of 98
[437]
exotic titan helmets i got each helmet
[439]
dropped within the same amount of times
[441]
as each other out of 98 helmets that
[443]
drop there's 7 different helmets you get
[446]
on titan 98 divided by 7 is 14 which
[449]
would be how many times each exotic
[451]
would drop if everything was balanced in
[453]
actuality each helmet was in 3 to 4 of
[455]
that 14. so what the data pretty clearly
[458]
suggests is that there's absolutely
[459]
nothing working against you from getting
[461]
the exotic that you're hunting to draw
[463]
if you're running a lost sector dropping
[465]
helmets you're just as likely to get one
[466]
exotic helmet as you are to get any
[468]
other exotic helmet on your class the
[470]
next question is one that i see a lot of
[472]
people ask because whether you're
[473]
farming for a particular role on an
[475]
exotic or you're trying to fill out the
[477]
exotics that you're still missing
[478]
everyone wants to know what the best and
[481]
easiest lost sectors to farm for are
[483]
this is how i rank all the legendary
[485]
lost sectors from best to farm to worst
[487]
to farm vales labyrinth chamber of
[489]
starlight the quarry excavation site 12
[492]
affiliates rest the empty tank concealed
[495]
void well of drowned wishes scavenger
[497]
stand perdition exodus garden bunker e15
[501]
k1 communion k1 crew quarters k1
[504]
logistics and k1 revelation as the worst
[507]
lost sector basically the edz and cosby
[510]
drone lost sectors are the best for
[511]
farming europa dreaming city and the
[514]
tangleshore are almost as good and then
[516]
the moon is by far the worst to farm for
[519]
this order is based off a mix of how
[521]
long each one took to complete on
[522]
average over 100 runs and how easy
[525]
challenging or plain aggravating they
[527]
were to clear the moon lost sectors are
[529]
both extremely long compared to every
[532]
other lost sector and are also just
[534]
considerably more annoying out of about
[536]
93 hours spent farming 33 of those hours
[540]
was spent just in the four moon lost
[542]
sectors that means that 25 percent of
[544]
the lost sectors took about 33 percent
[546]
of my time since i tracked almost every
[548]
single exotic i got i can answer some
[550]
questions that you probably have about
[552]
the stat points i've seen a lot of
[554]
people wonder if there's any difference
[555]
in stats between exotics that drop on
[557]
legend versus exotics that drop on
[559]
master and all that i can really say is
[561]
that there's absolutely no noticeable
[563]
difference between either one exotics
[565]
that drop on legend appear to be the
[567]
same as once a drop on master the
[569]
average total stats that dropped was
[571]
about 63 with about a third of all
[573]
exotics that dropped having more than 65
[576]
total stat points and the highest total
[578]
stat points to drop was 69 so almost
[581]
always exotics are definitely dropping
[583]
with higher than normal stat points if
[586]
you take nothing else away from this
[587]
video here's the three most important
[589]
things that i can leave you with even
[591]
though it feels like there's something
[592]
working against you from getting that
[594]
exotic that you want i promise that
[596]
there's nothing working against you
[598]
everyone is rolling the same four-sided
[600]
dice hoping to get lucky with an exotic
[602]
to drop if you've gone a while without a
[604]
drop it's just because that dice isn't
[606]
landing on the side that you need number
[608]
two for 99 of people it's better to farm
[611]
for exotics on legend difficulty rather
[613]
than master difficulty at best the drop
[616]
rates seem to be within about 10 percent
[618]
of each other and you'll get the same
[619]
amount of exotics for your time either
[621]
way or even less on master compared to
[623]
legend but you have to deal with so much
[625]
more frustration and master compared to
[628]
legend it also takes a lot more bounty
[630]
farming to get to a power level where
[632]
master doesn't just one shot you all the
[634]
time so just stick to legend the best
[637]
lost sectors for farming are on the edz
[639]
or the cosmodrome if those aren't
[641]
available though stick to running the
[643]
europa dreaming city or the tangled
[645]
shore lost sectors for all of your
[647]
farming and just avoid the moon unless
[649]
you're truly truly desperate i can't
[652]
really think of any examples of when
[653]
you'd be desperate enough that you need
[655]
to farm for something so badly that you
[657]
need to settle for the moon so just wait
[660]
four days for the next chance to get the
[661]
exotic that you want and you won't have
[663]
to do a moon law sector i really hope
[665]
that this video and the time i spent
[666]
putting it together helps some of you
[668]
out with your farming i'm probably not
[670]
going to touch a lost sector for a while
[672]
if there's any questions that you still
[673]
have about lost sectors comment them
[675]
down below and i'll answer them either
[676]
in another video or in a twitter post
[679]
and definitely follow me on twitter for
[680]
more helpful content like this but
[682]
broken down into very short and concise

posts that save you time thanks for
