It's kind of hard to argue that anybody in the Republican caucus in the house is having
[5]
a worse week than Madison Callthorne yesterday, of course, or actually, no, it was Tuesday.
[11]
I'm sorry.
[12]
He was busted trying to bring a gun through airport security in North Carolina for the
[16]
second time.
[19]
And he may actually face criminal charges for that way to be seen obviously.
[23]
But also later that same day he was implicated in potential insider trading scandal.
[32]
And here's how that scandal works.
[34]
You see Madison Callthorne was one of the investors into the let's go brand cryptocurrency.
[42]
And as such this past December, he put a post on Instagram, you know, pumping up the let's
[50]
go branding cryptocurrency that said tomorrow, we go to the moon.
[56]
Not sure what that means.
[57]
Madison Callthorne obviously did not go to the moon in December, but what had has now
[62]
raised eyebrows and has caused independent watchdogs to call for an investigation is
[68]
the fact that this post on Instagram happened the day before this let's go, Brandon cryptocurrency
[77]
got its big endorsement from the NASCAR driver, Brandon Brown, who of course is the guy who
[84]
he didn't start the let's go, Brandon.
[86]
But it was the interview with him where the lady said, no, they're saying, let's go Brandon.
[92]
He's the guy where it originated basically.
[94]
And so he came out the day after Madison Callthorne said, tomorrow, we go to the moon.
[100]
And then of course, when tomorrow came the Bing endorsement for a cryptocurrency.
[106]
So here's the thing that could be insider trading here.
[109]
Madison Callthorne as an investor in this, if he had any kind of knowledge whatsoever,
[114]
that was not yet publicly available, that Brandon Brown was coming out the next day
[119]
to endorse this, which would drive up the value then yes, that would be considered insider
[124]
to trading.
[125]
Cause call thorn was already invested in, it, wanted to get people to come in, which
[129]
would drive the price even higher.
[131]
That's what happened.
[132]
Um, of course that's hypothetically what happened?
[136]
Let's be clear.
[137]
He has not been charged with anything.
[138]
Certainly hasn't been convicted.
[140]
So we can't say he did or did not do anything.
[142]
This is just what is being alleged against him.
[146]
So then it comes to that.
[148]
Cryptic says, tomorrow we go to the moon.
[153]
Why tomorrow?
[154]
Right.
[155]
And I think that's the big question.
[156]
That's the reason this whole thing seems suspicious.
[158]
You specifically said tomorrow we go to the moon and then a big thing happened tomorrow.
[164]
So yeah, I mean, that kind of seems fairly obvious, right?
[168]
But again, watchdogs have called for an investigation.
[171]
There is not yet an investigation, but all of this stuff is happening at a really bad
[175]
time for Madison Callthorne, uh, he is struggling with fundraising.
[179]
He's actually underwater with fundraising.
[181]
You have Republican Senator Tom Tillis, who is now spending money out of his own superPAC
[187]
to run ads against Madison Callthorne in his district.
[190]
You get busted with a gun into the airport, you get, you know, implicated in an insider
[195]
trading scandal.
[196]
So what does Callthorne say about all this?
[198]
Well, he really the video on Wednesday that said, oh no, no, no, all this is overblown.
[203]
It's this slow drip.
[204]
Right?
[205]
They're just trying to take me down the establishment people with all of these horrible things,
[209]
the slow drip, he kept saying, you know, story after story, after story, after story, that
[217]
may be what's happening.
[218]
But at the same time, uh, you kind of appear to be guilty, at least in my opinion.
[223]
I mean the cryptocurrency thing.
[226]
Sure.
[227]
We'll see what happens with that.
[228]
They're already being sued in a class action for basically running a pump and dump scheme
[232]
is what the class action alleges.
[234]
So yeah, there, there's all kinds of legal problems with that cryptocurrency.
[239]
So we'll wait and see what happens there, but the gun in the airport for the second
[243]
time.
[244]
Oh, and by the way, on that same day, another body cam video was released of one of his
[250]
very many traffic stops.
[253]
Maybe it is a slow drip, but that doesn't change the fact that most of these things
[257]
you actually did.
[259]
Okay.
[260]
You can't walk that crap back.
[263]
You did.
[264]
Most of it, it remains to be seen right about the cryptocurrency thing, but uh, you're in
[269]
trouble and putting out a whiny TikTok video, isn't going to save your failing campaign.
