AirBnb Remote Jobs Hiring Now - How to work for AirBnb from home or from anywhere (USA, Worldwide) - YouTube

Channel: SuperHumans Life

[0]
Airbnb is joining the movement in terms of permanent work from home.
[4]
Basically, working for Airbnb will allow you to not only work from
[9]
anywhere you want in your current country, but starting September
[13]
you will be able to work from anywhere in the world.
[17]
Hey, welcome and welcome back to the Channel.
[18]
My name is Laura and on this channel we talk loads about working from home
[22]
and making money online.
[24]
We look at remote jobs and online jobs.
[26]
We take a look at freelancing, starting a business and loads of ways
[30]
to reach financial independence.
[32]
And in today's video,
[33]
we are going to take a closer look at Airbnb's most recent announcement
[37]
in terms of their new flexible work design.
[40]
If you currently work for Airbnb, we will discuss what that means to you,
[44]
but also if you're interested in working for Airbnb.
[48]
We will take a look at all the jobs that they are currently looking to hire for
[52]
and whether or not those qualify for you to apply, depending on where you live
[58]
and whether you can do them remotely or online.
[61]
Make sure you stick around till the end because towards the end we will reveal
[65]
if Airbnb is or not a good place to work in
[69]
and we will take a look at current employee feedback where they give
[74]
all the details, all the insights on how it is to work for Airbnb.
[78]
So let's dove in.
[80]
Only a few days ago, Brian Chesky, Airbnb CEO, sent
[84]
a note to his entire employee community sharing more details about his plan
[89]
and the decision that the leadership team had made in terms
[93]
of Airbnb's new flexible work design.
[96]
There are five principle in this memo that have been shared
[101]
with the employee community, and I think for today's video,
[104]
the first three, not for the first three, are the most relevant.
[109]
So let's take them one by one very quickly, because I think it's
[113]
important to understand them before we can go into which jobs
[117]
they're looking to hire for Principle number one that he shared
[121]
is that anyone working for Airbnb,
[124]
with very few exceptions, can work
[128]
however they choose, either from home,
[131]
from the office, or a combination thereof.
[135]
Obviously, the offices will continue to be open
[138]
but there is loads of trust in the entire employee community
[144]
that they will be able to choose for themselves together.
[148]
With their manager
[149]
and their teams on which is the best working environment for them.
[153]
What's the best working set up?
[155]
So if you currently work for Airbnb or if you will get a job with them
[160]
based on what we will discuss a little bit later, then no, that
[164]
unless your job is one of the very few
[167]
that need to be present at the office or in a certain location,
[171]
then you can work remotely or from home as you choose.
[175]
Principle number two is that you can work from anywhere
[180]
you want in the country that is hiring you immediately.
[185]
Not only that, but you will also potentially get a salary increase
[191]
depending on where your salary base line had been established initially.
[196]
So if you already work for Airbnb, what that means is that
[201]
you will be able to work for them, continue doing that,
[205]
but you'll be able to do it regardless of where you've been hired.
[210]
That office is not so relevant anymore.
[213]
You will be able to travel across the country that you are based in
[218]
and where you've been hired, and you might get a salary increase
[222]
moving forward if you will get a job with Airbnb.
[225]
What that means to you is that you will get hired in a country.
[230]
You'll get the average salary for that country and you will be able
[234]
to be based anywhere you want that could be in the countryside,
[238]
it could be in the city, it could be wherever your heart desires.
[243]
Principle number three is that starting September,
[247]
you will be able to work for a period of up to 90 days
[252]
in any country in the world from a list of 170 that they are making available.
[259]
So they will continue
[261]
to support their employees with whatever lifestyle they choose.
[264]
So if you wanted to become a digital nomad and you want to
[269]
maybe explore other locations, travel to different countries,
[273]
then Airbnb is an amazing company to work for because starting September
[278]
you will be able to do that while continuing your job with Airbnb.
[283]
All right, so let me give you what you're here for.
[286]
Let's take a look at the current jobs that Airbnb are looking to hire for.
[292]
So I'm going to
[293]
go ahead and share my screen and take you through every single step.
[297]
So what I'm going to need you to do is to come
[300]
to careers dot Airbnb dot com, and you'll come to this website
[305]
that will show you everything you need to know about Airbnb's
[310]
working experience, their principles, their values and their offering.
[314]
Currently as you can see, they have 208 open positions across 62 locations.
[320]
And we will take a look at which are those 62 locations.
[323]
We will talk about First of all, the full time employee positions.
[328]
Then we will go into the freelancer and contractor ones
[332]
and then we'll talk about their university program.
[334]
So let's go ahead and click on all jobs.
[337]
When you come to all jobs, you will now see the different departments
[342]
that the open positions are part of like administrative Airbnb,
[346]
capacity center, business operations and analysis, community support,
[351]
data science design, employee experience and so forth.
[355]
They even have four intern positions.
[358]
So you can obviously go ahead and first of all, filter
[361]
based on the department that you're interested in.
[364]
Or you can first take a look at the locations.
[368]
They have these jobs open.
[369]
And so there are tons of open opportunities in the United States.
[375]
And as I said, it doesn't really matter where they're open
[379]
because you will be able to do them from anywhere in the U.S.
[382]
at least before September We have India, China, Germany, Belgium, Ireland,
[388]
the U.K., Luxembourg, Philippines, Mexico, Italy, Canada, France,
[393]
Brazil, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Japan.
[398]
Quite a few options.
[399]
I know that many of you are based in these countries.
[402]
Some of you are not but that will probably change.
[406]
So please do keep an eye out on other locations that they will be opening.
[411]
For those of you who are based in one of these countries,
[415]
what you're going to need to do is obviously go ahead and select
[419]
one of the departments that you are interested in.
[423]
Seeing the jobs for, let's say, Airbnb capacity center.
[427]
Many of these jobs, as you can see, are based out of India.
[432]
We're talking production design or technical recruiting, engineering, lead
[436]
administrative coordinator, engineering manager, data scientist, and so forth.
[441]
If we go to community support, for example, we have a diversity of locations.
[448]
Some of them are based in Ireland, some are in Philippines, some in Canada,
[452]
and we're talking about regional manager quality training,
[457]
lead analytics and insights, senior analyst and so forth.
[461]
If you want to take a look at the intern positions those are related
[464]
to legal data science, communications and public policy intern.
[470]
These are basically the four positions that they have currently open
[474]
for their university program.
[477]
You can learn a lot more about their university program
[480]
if you go ahead here at the top and click on university,
[484]
they give you all the details in terms of how they recruit, what you can expect
[489]
if you're a new graduate and what their intent program entails.
[493]
Let's go back to our job search so we can take a look
[496]
at what an application process looks like.
[500]
So let's say that you are interested in the senior manager UX writing position.
[506]
It is open in many, many locations across the United States, as you can see.
[511]
So go ahead and click on it.
[514]
It explains to you in detail the role overview,
[517]
the responsibilities that you would have if you take this job.
[521]
What kind of requirements they're looking for in terms of candidate profile?
[526]
And then if you do feel that you qualify for that,
[530]
you can go ahead and click apply now
[532]
the application process, as you can see, it's pretty straightforward.
[537]
Nothing super, super complicated because it is based in the U.S.
[541]
They do require that you answer some specific questions
[545]
related to your employment situation in the U.S.
[549]
But other than that, you just go ahead fill in your information,
[553]
you upload your resume and your cover letter.
[555]
That's basically it.
[556]
And if you want, you can also apply directly via LinkedIn once you've applied,
[561]
you will become part of their system and you will start going
[566]
through the phases of the recruitment process,
[569]
through the interviews, the connections with the h.R.
[572]
Now, if you're not looking for a full time job with Airbnb
[576]
and you rather start or have only a contract relationship
[581]
then you should go ahead and click on contract or freelance work.
[585]
And currently they have four roles open in 62 locations
[590]
and that's mainly because they probably not always care where you're based.
[596]
Let's see, in this case, all four of them seem to be open in San Francisco.
[602]
And the ones they have available, we're talking service care manager
[606]
for image service care manager for Korea and Japan
[610]
one for Singapore, and then a marketplace listing photographer.
[614]
I think with this in mind, the opportunities across
[618]
Airbnb are very diverse.
[620]
As you've seen, you have opportunities and administrative, you have opportunities
[624]
in finance, in legal, in marketing and engineering and design, in writing,
[629]
no matter what your background is, there should be something in here for you
[634]
as long as you are based in one of those 62 locations.
[637]
And let's say about 20 countries that we could go through
[641]
because as I said, it doesn't really matter where you're based
[645]
right now, as long as you are in one of those countries
[649]
now, the next thing that I would like to do is to go with you
[653]
through some employee feedback, because at the end of the day,
[656]
you do want to know if this is a good company to work for or not.
[659]
So you don't bother with the application process.
[662]
If this is not the kind of working environment that you are looking for.
[666]
So I'm going to go ahead and share my screen again
[669]
and take a look at a website called Comparably
[673]
where we can dove into employee feedback about working for Airbnb.
[678]
So when you come to comparably, what you can see
[681]
is that the culture score for Airbnb is at 4.1 out of five,
[685]
which is definitely one of the higher ones that we've seen.
[688]
Their CEO, Brian Chesky, also has really good feedback, his
[693]
among top 5% CEOs in terms of their SEO score.
[698]
So it definitely looks like there is good experience.
[702]
Employee reviews show 75%
[706]
satisfaction, while only 25% seem to not be extremely excited
[711]
about working for Airbnb, what they see is that they enjoy taking on projects
[717]
that are challenging and attempting to repair and improve operations.
[721]
But they are saying that compensation is not necessarily
[725]
as good as it could be in terms of diversity score.
[730]
They have a good ranking.
[732]
They're within top 35%, but definitely lots of room for improvement.
[738]
As we have for their gender score, which is in the lower 40%.
[744]
You can take a look here and see a lot of details in terms of
[748]
what a day in the life looks like, how many meetings you would have,
[752]
how much you would work,
[753]
how much you would engage with your colleagues, your team and so forth.
[758]
And then as far as salaries
[761]
are concerned, as you can see, on average,
[764]
depending on the type of role that you have if you have one of the lower
[770]
range salaries like community manager or administrative assistant,
[774]
you can expect to make on average about $50,000
[778]
within a year, although it can go as high as 68
[782]
or $90,000 depending on your level of seniority.
[787]
And obviously the experience and expertize that you are bringing to the table
[791]
in terms of their highest salaries, obviously
[794]
their leadership team, their VP of sales of product and engineering
[798]
seemed to be making over 250, $270,000.
[804]
All in all, the feedback seems to be relatively good
[807]
employees seem to be happy working for Airbnb,
[810]
although it might not be the most diverse
[813]
and gender inclusive environment.
[816]
And there is lots of opportunity for them to improve their overall.
[821]
It looks like it's a fast pace, it's an opportunity to grow environment.
[826]
So definitely take a look at what they have to offer.
[830]
Thank you so, so much for watching.
[832]
I hope this video was helpful for you.
[834]
Until next time, I suggest you go ahead and watch this video
[837]
where we do the exact same thing, but for Tesla.
[841]
So if
[841]
you're interested in working for Tesla, especially in getting a work from home
[845]
or remote job that this is the video you want to watch next.
[849]
Thank you again and I'll see you next time. Five
