in case you're living life under the xbox rock  x, microsoft has apparently purchased activision  

blizzard for roughly 69 billion dollars meaning  that microsoft xbox is going to control and own  

all the games that are under activation  blizzard that includes call of duty that  

includes overcrouch they're gonna get wow as well  but guys no one's asking the important questions  

what's gonna happen to candy crush oh yeah they  are getting candy crush had to double check that  

because this news is pretty sudden it's huge so  far for 2022 this is the biggest gaming news we've  

seen as you guys might be aware activision has  been in a little bit of a pickle the last couple  

of months there's been some scandals and stuff  going on i'm not gonna dive super in depth on that  

because if you know you know and i'm not gonna go  down that road right now because it is very long  

and we're gonna get exhausted before we can even  talk about xbox buying activities but between the  

activision controversy and call of duty not doing  very well it seemed like they were going to be  

getting the red ring of death but there's still so  much more that we have to talk about because even  

though this deal happened it's not finalized quite  yet so before we dive into more information and i  

give you guys my thoughts and opinions on all of  this we just need to take a step back for a second  

and realize that this is still a hypothetical deal  until it's finalized but definitely do be aware of  

the fact that if microsoft truly does acquire  activision for almost 70 billion dollars this  

is gonna be like one of the biggest game changers  for gaming in a long time so let's go i obviously  

saw a lot of this information from charlie intel's  tweets and it says that the company is gonna start  

adding activision blizzard games to xbox game  pass and pc game pass obviously as we go through  

all this information i'm going to be taking it  from the stance of a call of duty player someone  

who's been playing since call of duty 4. back  when microsoft had the xbox exclusivity and they  

would get dlc roughly a month early before like  playstation and pc from a cod standpoint this is  

very interesting because you know when we think  about the golden era the golden days of call of  

duty we think about when it was associated with  xbox i'm not exactly sure where the exclusivity  

started i think it might have been call of duty 2  because it was like bundled with xbox 360s i think  

but ever since i started playing call of duty with  call of duty 4 the original modern warfare xbox  

pretty much went hand in hand with call of duty up  until around advanced warfare and then that's when  

things started to switch and i think it's because  of how call of duty was actually performing and  

how it was being developed on the xbox one like  the xbox one was not running it as well as the  

ps4 and i think that's when activision and sony  then started to make the agreement and then the  

exclusivity for dlc started to move over to  sony and playstation but if this deal goes  

through then that is 100 gonna be taken away and  the exclusivity is going to go back to xbox which  

again i don't think any of this is good i actually  like where call of duty has been recently when it  

comes to dlc like basically every single platform  gets the dlc at the same time it kind of feels  

like sony hasn't been as aggressive with call of  duty like yeah i think around the time of modern  

warfare when it came to spec ops you didn't get  what's the survival mode or something and xbox  

and pc had to wait what like an entire year to  get a game mode i mean it didn't even turn out  

to be that good it wasn't really that big of a  deal overall when it comes to platform exclusive  

games and games kind of being like safeguarded  away from other platforms it's obviously to boost  

the console sales and stuff but i think overall  it actually hurts the community it hurts the  

player bases because it starts to fragment people  people start arguing and [ __ ] it's just stupid  

we all enjoy games we all want to play games so  barricading people away from playing those games  

is very infuriating if a company like microsoft  is going to spend roughly 69 billion dollars to  

acquire activision and to acquire call of duty  they're not going to just leave it alone and let  

it be how it has been i pretty much see one of two  things happening they're either gonna go back to  

microsoft and xbox having that exclusivity  where if you own and play call of duty on  

xbox you're going to be able to get the dlc and  possibly even like new guns and stuff like that  

a month before sony and playstation and also  pc this would pretty much be the slightly less  

aggressive approach that microsoft had before  when they had the xbox deal with call of duty  

and then there's the [ __ ] storm there's the  more aggressive approach where they might make  

call of duty an xbox exclusive game i really hope  that this is not the path that microsoft goes down  

i mean they absolutely could if they wanted to  boost the xbox sales essentially turning call of  

duty into a game like halo or gears of war where  you have to play it on xbox or pc in an effort to  

really screw over sony and people who are playing  on playstation 4 and playstation 5. i really  

don't think that would be a good move especially  considering that call of duty sales have been down  

since vanguard was released you need to actually  boost those sales if call of duty starts getting  

restricted and you can only play it on an xbox and  pc that's going to diminish the player base that's  

not going to be a good thing regardless of whether  you love or hate sony and playstation that's not  

a smart move and if it was the flip side where  sony would buy activision and call of duty i think  

would be stupid if they made it a playstation  exclusive it definitely goes both ways and i  

don't think keeping people away from playing the  game would be smart one thing i definitely want to  

mention is that this deal is actually not going to  be closed until the year 2023 so the next call of  

duty game whatever we get in 2022 is still gonna  be independent of everything that's going on with  

microsoft and activision right now so none of this  stuff is really gonna kick in until 2023. when  

it comes to console exclusivity that is i feel  like one of the more negative things but there  

is something very positive and very awesome that  could come out of this deal if it goes through  

have you guys ever heard of a gathering of games  called the halo master chief collection yeah that  

little project that microsoft threw together to  make sure that people could still play and enjoy  

the older halo multiplayers and campaigns guess  what guys it turns out when you permanently shut  

down the xbox 360 servers for halo halo mcc ends  up looking very valuable it seems like a really  

great idea right what will happen to call of duty  if they decide to shut down all the old xbox 360  

and ps3 servers for the games i've got my copy  of call of duty 4 modern warfare right here and  

it says on the back activision makes no guarantees  regarding the availability of online play and may  

withdraw online service and its discretion  without notice so yeah at any given point  

in time activation can shut down the servers for  these old call of duty games and as it currently  

stands we don't have a call of duty collection  so if they shut down all these servers we won't  

be able to play these games ever again or will  we i don't know i just want to see some actual  

change happen i want to see something big happen  for call of duty if i'm not mistaken if i go back  

and do like a history of call of duty video like  i've done in the past there's like 20 plus call  

of duty games to play and record we should get  something big and awesome for like what a 20-year  

anniversary of call of duty in like 2023. i can  understand if this doesn't happen in 2022 but  

in 2023 i believe that's the 20-year anniversary  of khan they should really go big in 2023 if it's  

not gonna happen next year that's all i'm saying  it turns out when i was making a vanguard video  

i was talking about the possibility of getting a  call of duty collection in the year 2023 marking  

the 20th anniversary for call of duty and the  fact that microsoft might actually be acquiring  

activision can make this possibility even more  real they have the resources and the experience of  

making a collection game for halo so who's to say  that they couldn't do this for call of duty that  

would be insane and it'll be [ __ ] awesome if  they actually decided to do that fingers crossed  

boys i guess i missed this microsoft says active  efficient blizzard games are enjoyed on a variety  

of platforms and we plan to continue to support  these communities moving forward there you go  

hopefully they don't take that super aggressive  approach and make call of duty b xbox exclusive  

charlie says here that this will accelerate  activision blizzard's push into mobile gaming  

through xbox cloud gaming slash game pass we could  see call of duty new releases on game pass on day  

one and on mobile on day one i feel like with  all this information coming out like the xbox  

game pass songs just like [ __ ] skyrocketed  i don't have it but it might actually be worth  

it now that call of duty is gonna be owned by  xbox also to follow up from that previous tweet  

it says the acquisition is about increasing the  availability of activision blizzard content across  

more platforms including mobile definitely good  to hear that this is all the studios that xbox  

is going to own jesus yeah this is definitely  looking pretty insane and there's something i  

want to talk about which could make this whole  entire deal fall apart government's regulation  

i gotta try not to laugh here but we really  do need to take this seriously because if  

microsoft keeps acquiring different  companies aside from activision they  

very well could get a monopoly going on the  gaming industry which is something that the  

ftc is going to be looking into oh look at  that wait that says that microsoft plans to  

make some activision games playstation still  while others will be exclusive to xbox and pc  

i can already tell they do not want to leave  the door close to having call of duty be xbox  

exclusive you never know we're gonna have to wait  and see how this whole thing plays out multiple  

lawyers and analysis believe this microsoft's  activision buyout will be a heated debate  

between congress and the department of justice  and microsoft over monopolizing the industry  

it's unclear how this will all play out but will  be a very interesting few months ahead i agree  

charles nah this is nothing to worry about guys  this is just a tiny little buy out for 69 billion  

dollars nothing could possibly go wrong here in  the future we will also see the xbox game studio  

logo when loading up call of duty oh hopefully it  doesn't take 40 seconds xbox is phil spencer to  

bloomberg i'll just say to players out there who  are playing activision blizzard's games on sony's  

platform it's not our intent to pull communities  away from that platform and we remain committed to  

that make up your mind are you going to [ __ ] us  over or not i really would like to know because i  

might need to get an xbox series x if that's the  case god damn just so that everyone's aware if  

microsoft slash xbox wants to get rid of bobby  kotek when the deal is done kotek will get a  

minimum 250 million dollar payout dude's gonna get  a quarter of a billion dollars if he gets cut oh  

no bobby breaking the wall street journal says  their sources have told them bobby kotek will  

leave activision blizzard once the microsoft deal  is done whoa this is so insane what i really can't  

contain myself i mean this is some of the craziest  gaming news i think we've ever seen oh my god  

i think that pretty much catches us all up even  though this whole biot has not been finalized yet  

it raises so many different questions and it could  create so many different kinds of possibilities in  

the past there's been competition between halo and  call of duty and are they going to work together  

now is there going to be some kind of symbiotic  relationship here i'd be lying if i said i wasn't  

a little worried you know call of duty has all  this proprietary information as far as it goes  

for like the skill-based matchmaking algorithm and  how they keep players retained on there how they  

monetize the game and how they're super profitable  we don't know if that information is going to  

stick with call of duty or if they're going to  use that to boost up halo and this is where the  

debate about microsoft slash xbox monopolizing  the gaming industry would be very interesting  

because call of duty and halo are competitive with  each other but once microsoft owns activision and  

they can control call of duty what are they gonna  do with it there's so many unanswered questions i  

i swear like my brain is melting i could probably  sit here and keep speculating for hours but it's  

just to be exhausting i don't want to do that  to myself so with that being said thank you guys
