[20]
We all purchase vintage decor, comfortable
sofa, floral bedsheets for our house
[28]
But only dust is enough to spoil the
look and comfort of all these things
[33]
And dust is not just mud. It also contains
plant pollens, fibers, dead skin cells
[40]
And also these days it's a hot and humid weather
[43]
So the problem dust mites also increases
[46]
In this case it becomes very challenging to keep our
house dust free but its very important as well
[52]
That’s why I have brought some very useful tips in today’s video following which your house will remain dust free
[59]
Hi all. My name is Ila and welcome back to ‘Her Fab Way’
[62]
Let’s get started with today’s video but before that do not
forget to join us on Instagram
[67]
My Instagram handle is ‘Her Fab Way’
[70]
First thing is to notice from where
the dust is entering in your house
[75]
Like we have placed some plants in this balcony
[78]
And from the space under the door, dust and
sometimes even insects came into our room
[85]
This under door dust stopper is
a very good solution to this problem.
[89]
Which completely seals a door
[93]
It is very easy to install
[96]
Not only dust it blocks air as well
[99]
So that if you have turned on AC then even its
cooling doesn’t get leaked from the room
[105]
This will help you save on your electricity bill as well
[109]
The stopper is now installed
[111]
You can just take a paper cutter and the extra length, if any.
[122]
It creates no problem while opening
or closing the door and it's very smooth
[128]
It's perfect and it totally solves the purpose
[135]
We put a door matt right in front of our house but we
step inside our home without using it properly
[142]
But please avoid doing it and do not take it casually
[148]
Whenever you come from outside
spend at least 5 seconds on your matt
[154]
Clean your shoes properly and
post that only, step inside your home.
[168]
Now its always better to place a shoe rack
outside or in the entryway of your house
[174]
But if you don’t have such space then place the
shoe rack in the closest room to your entrance
[187]
We all change our bed sheets every week
[190]
and sometimes also put our mattresses,
pillows and quilts under the Sun
[195]
But curtains or upholstery such as sofa or fabric chairs
[201]
They also hold a lot of dust
[203]
So we need to frequently clean these as well.
[206]
For that you can take a sleek
brush which has long and soft bristles
[213]
By using this type of fabric brush,
you can dust chairs and sofas easily
[221]
Specially the space on the back and sides of the seats
accumulates a lot of dust
[228]
But because of the sleek design of these
brushes we can clean those spaces perfectly
[236]
The grip of this brush is very comfortable and because of its soft bristles it doesn’t damage your fabric as well
[245]
So now you can see our sofa is well cleaned now no matter
its plain or patterned the dust is totally removed form it
[255]
Similarly our curtains also accumulate a lot of dust
[259]
specially towards the top
[261]
That’s why do wash your curtains at least once in three months
[265]
It’s a must for a dust free home
[275]
Whenever it's a stormy weather,
so much dust penetrates in our homes.
[280]
To prevent that we usually close
the doors and windows of our house
[284]
But that is not enough
[287]
Firstly, use a fresh towel to cover the utensils
or cutlery that you have kept outside the cabinet
[296]
so that dust doesn't settle on them
[299]
Then also cover your bed completely with a washed bed sheet
[304]
Like this your mattresses, cushions, quilts and pillows
will stay protected from minute dust particles.
[316]
Similarly, also cover all the fabric sofa or chairs
[326]
I am following this habit from
many years and its biggest benefit is
[332]
the minute particles of dust can not
enter inside your mattress, pillow or sofa
[338]
And once the weather gets normal you don’t need to wash everything. Just these bedsheets
[351]
Next, I will talk about seasonal wears
[354]
Whenever you are string your off-season clothes, make sure
they are protected from dust and moisture
[361]
Its one of the best solutions is to use vacuum bags
[366]
Vacuum bags are reusable. They
protect our clothes from dust and moisture
[372]
and also save us a lot of space
[376]
And here we have stored all our woolen
clothes in our bed box using these vacuum bags
[382]
Similarly, you can store your
blankets, quilts etc. in vacuum bags
[388]
And they are available in different sizes in market
[392]
My next tip is to use the right vacuum cleaner
[395]
Whenever you purchase a vacuum cleaner, then make sure
that its not only powerful but light weight as well.
[402]
This way you can easily clean hard-to-reach corners as well
[408]
I am using this vacuum cleaner
for almost 2 years and its just perfect
[413]
The best part is, it doesn’t have a dust bag but a dust cup
inside it which makes easy to clean.
[421]
It has this HEPA filter which filters minute particles
of dust which are even less than the size of 0.3 micron
[431]
Within seconds you can clean all of the corners
which certainly reduces your weekly cleaning time.
[447]
All the cluttered corners of our house of course look untidy
but we also unnecessarily expose them to dust
[456]
This is just like an invitation to a lot of dust
[462]
So whether it's a bedside table or wardrobe,
please keep all the corners clutter free.
[469]
Doing that will not only prevent them from
layers of dust but cleaning them would get easier as well.
[492]
We must remember that our home is
our living space and not a storage space
[502]
A clean environment is a healthy environment
[505]
It makes you feel happy and it keeps you motivated
[515]
My next tip is to use microfibre clothes to dust your house.
[520]
There are two benefits of using these
[522]
First of all, when we clean a surface with a regular cotton
cloth, the dust either falls on the floor or in the air.
[531]
But when we use a microfiber cloth, the dust literally sticks on it.
[537]
Let me share an example.
[540]
For example, these are dust particles and to
clean them I have taken a regular cotton cloth
[549]
After cleaning it we can see that only few dust particles are stuck on the cloth while the rest have scattered on the floor
[559]
But if I take a piece of magnet
and place it inside this cotton cloth
[564]
So after cleaning it you can see that all the dust particles get
stuck on the cotton cloth
[571]
Microfiber cloth also works like this
[575]
Just like a magnet it attracts dust
[580]
And the dust gets stuck on the microfiber cloth
instead of scattering everywhere
[588]
And its second benefit is that it's lint free because of which our
surface not only gets cleaned but also shines
[602]
As you all know, dust not only settles on horizontal surfaces
but also on vertical surfaces like windows and walls
[611]
and of course they need regular dusting as well
[615]
To clean windows, firstly we will remove dry dust from them
[625]
Then I have taken this all-purpose cleaner
[627]
Using this we will remove water spots and dust marks
[649]
To clean walls I’m using this microfiber duster
[654]
We can extend its rod to the highest corners.
[658]
This way we can clean our walls and
wardrobes quickly and independently
[670]
Next tip is, to keep the house dust free
it's very important to keep the air-circulators clean.
[679]
Because if they have dust then naturally
the air they circulate will also carry dust
[689]
Not just filters, dust accumulates on its louvers as well.
[699]
Therefore, for a healthy, air please keep your air circulators completely dust free
[712]
I strongly believe one thing
[715]
Dust never disappoints
[717]
Isn’t it true?
[718]
Dust accumulates in corners we
don't even expect or pay much attention to.
[724]
That’s why, find the hidden corners in your house and I am sure dust won’t disappoint you as well.
[735]
So, guys that’s it for today
