Window Cleaning Pricing!!! (How much to charge bid) - YouTube

I want to do a video showing you how  to bid a window cleaning job okay so if you're a  

homeowner you might want to watch this if you're  someone who wants to charge for window cleaning  

you might want to watch this okay I've been  doing window cleaning for years so here's the  

deal you want to take and you want to figure out  how much you want per hour okay so if if you want  

sixty dollars an hour then you figure out how many  minutes they'll take and you want to be bringing  

in a dollar a minute you want thirty an hour you  want to bring in about fifty cents a minute okay  

so you figure out how many minutes so you're going  to write right out these windows you're going to  

need a stepladder or maybe a water cut pole so you  want to figure out how many minutes let's just say  

that's four minutes two minutes and four minutes  so 10 minutes and then 2 4 6 8 10 so 20 minutes ok  

for that so that would be 20 dollars so then you  come over here and you you got to understand this  

you need to think about the customers expectations  okay are they expecting you to clean the screens  

you need to charge it differently for that are  they expecting you to come up here with a cobweb  

duster and to dust around you know the edges and  get stuff out of it you need to charge differently  

if you have to go around the edges you need to you  know are in the really big one are they expecting  

you to clean inside and outside or just outside  it's very very important to specify with the  

customer exactly what you're going to do so the  expectations are in order so with this you need  

to figure out how long it would take you to do it  I want to talk to a video about scraping glass but  

yeah you know are they expecting me to scrape it  or just mop and squeegee it so let's just say this  

would take four minutes by the time you took the  screen out and did the window and you know I did  

it right with the mop and squeegee so we go and  then you so we go four and then there's another  

four and then you need to think about bushes how  accessible this is not too bad okay there's a big  

bougainvillea Bush or cactus and you're doing it  with a mop and squeegee and not a water fed pole  

or whatever it might be harder you know there  might be things in the window that you can't  

take off that easily looks like that one doesn't  have a screen but here we go we go this is um if  

it's for four minutes each is four dollars each  so one two three there's another window four five  

six so right there we're at six times four is 24  plus twenty okay so 24 plus 20 is 44 and we come  

around the building and you know this might sound  obvious and there's a two more so at eight you  

know but you need to be looking very carefully  that you're not missing any windows okay these  

are up these are upstairs it looks like there's  something on the middle window on the lower part  

something whatever it is so what you need to do is  you need to talk to the customer and you need to  

get the customer two different prices if you're  not sure if you can do some windows like you  

may or may not be able to walk on the roof you  know it looks like maybe there's dirt or algae  

or something on that roof so you need to talk to  the customer you need to say this is one price and  

maybe I can go up there and maybe I'll be able to  clean it and so you know that's that's the other  

price okay but keep the customers expectations in  line so you need to figure out how long will it  

take to put a ladder up walk across the roof with  your tools and to clean those and come back down  

the ladder okay let's just factor in seven minutes  for each window is 21 right so add 21 and we're up  

to about 73 right now so then you come around  the building and you look over here and these  

are some windows up high okay and so what you need  to do is you need to figure it figure out how long  

will take to go up the ladder is there a huge  awning in the way then you know will is there  

room on the ground for the ladder so you factor  in about ten minutes each by the time you move a  

lot of go up the ladder do the window come back  down ladder factor in about ten minutes each so  

one two three thirty minutes and then four and  four so we got plus plus 38 so we're up to like  

111 right now so we come around here we got 1 2 3  4 so you add 40 minutes and then right here we got  

1 2 3 & 4 4 windows at 4 minutes each is another  of 16 minutes so dollar VIN it would be 16 dollars  

and then you come around here and you just kind  of just think about you know how long it'll take  

and maybe you'll get it right sometimes the more  you do it you might get write quicker so how long  

would they keep doing this okay so factoring like  if you have a ladder so maybe like 5 10 15 20 25  

just call it 30 and then right here go 32 34  36 38 40 so then we go past 40 so we're at two  

hundred and seven dollars right now so come over  here are there any upstairs you need to always  

be like looking looking looking are there any you  don't want to miss any windows so there's two up  

there so factor in 10 minutes a piece okay ten  seven minutes apiece whatever you know this is  

odd let's just call these 10 whatever but um you  call it seven 10 well let's just call 20 minutes  

total okay so add 20 and then you got 1 2 3 4  5 6 so 6 times 4 it's going to add that plus 24  

we are at 251 so you come around and you want to  make sure that you have access to the bushes and  

stuff and you you know you really need to specify  to the customer like what kind of clean are they  

expecting oh here's another here's another one  here's four plus four like if they want really  

clean windows they might have to have a mop and  a squeegee in addition to the scraping if they  

just have them up and squeegee you know there's  stuff on there you know you might need a scraper  

to take some of the stuff off okay so it's really  really important and when you scrape there is the  

possibility of scraping a window maybe the glass  is perfect maybe it has imperfections or something  

on it so it's you know you need to have the  customer's expectations right oh there's there's  

another one that's four let's go around here so so  I was one two three four five five windows times  

four dollars is 20 so for this job we're looking  at about 275 now you know what maybe you're really  

fast window cleaner baby or not you know you just  got to figure out how much you want per hour and  

you know and go with that you might be able to  get those windows done in like three point five  

minutes or two minutes or two minutes and 15  seconds apiece or whatever but however fast you  

are you just figure out how much you want to make  per hour and that's what you do and I want to go  

ahead and show you this window right here and give  you an example here excusing so we're right here  

at this window can you guys see these black specks  right here so yeah that might not come off with  

mopping and squeegee we need to use a razor for  that so if you tell the customer a price and in  

your head you're planning on mopping and squeezing  the windows and that doesn't come off the customer  

might not be happy with you so you know is she  expecting you to clean that so you know what about  

this stuff in here so just make sure you specify  to the customer very clearly what you intend to  

do and if you do scrape who knows if I've ever  even done it but it would be a good idea to get  

them to sign a waiver let them know there is the  possibility to scratch the glass let me have that  

customers know you know the possibility is there  but uh anyways guys do you have any other better
