Study Tips to Help You Ace the Georgia Real Estate Exam - YouTube

Channel: Prep Agent

[0]
hi everybody this is joe from prep agent and today i'm going to go over five tips
[4]
to help you pass your georgia real estate exam
[8]
if you need any additional information or clarification anything i say
[12]
check the show notes below as i provide many helpful links.
[17]
With that being said, let's go over my five tips.
[21]
My first tip for you is don't cause unnecessary stress by rushing
[27]
Please plan everything out something i always say in all my webinars is learn
[31]
five vocabulary words every morning you plan them out in the night you learn
[36]
them in the morning and what i'm getting at is you learn a little bit every day
[40]
don't try and cram everything last minute causing a crazy amount of stress
[45]
for most of us that causes a lot of problems i know you hear about people
[49]
who just study the weekend before and they pass and they are very glorious and
[53]
everybody wants to be like them but they are the exception and not the rule
[57]
and like many exceptions they are very loud and everybody wants to believe that
[61]
that's the way to do it when it's not the majority of people who pass have a
[65]
study plan and they do a little bit every day
[68]
so by the time the test is around the corner they're pretty much just
[72]
reviewing things doing this will minimize the stress and
[76]
make sure you're ready for the exam do not wait till the last minute and try
[80]
and rush everything and cram everything into one weekend this stuff can be
[84]
pretty boring and pretty dry so unless you have a photographic memory
[88]
I would not recommend that my next tip is to talk to somebody who
[93]
took the georgia real estate exam if you don't know anybody who took the
[97]
exam check out some of our videos we do a lot of interviews with people also
[101]
Aceable does a terrific blog which is in the show notes below that you can look
[105]
at which talks about people who've taken the exam and it discusses what they
[109]
found easy what they found hard what they did to ensure their success
[114]
do not talk to people took it a long time ago and you definitely don't need
[117]
to talk to those people who said it was just so easy it was so easy easy for
[121]
them doesn't mean easy for you in fact maybe it's better to talk to
[124]
people who struggled and persevered and show some resilience i guarantee those
[128]
people know a lot more about the details of the exam than somebody took it years
[132]
ago is acting like they know when they don't
[135]
or somebody who's just a good test taker and passed it without any trouble at all
[140]
so talk to somebody who recently took the exam preferably somebody who
[143]
struggled and really had to put a lot of effort into it then i think you'll find
[147]
that very helpful in your preparation next one may seem a little obvious
[152]
practice makes perfect practice practice practice practice
[156]
if you guys don't have any practice tests to go off of go to the acable link
[161]
below that i provide in the show notes it has some free practice tests that
[164]
will help you pass the georgia real estate exam
[167]
you want to do those as much as possible remember i said learn your vocabulary
[172]
every morning five words a day or whatever it is
[175]
but at some point you're going to nail down that vocabulary after all remember
[178]
this is a glorified vocabulary test but once you know those words you got to
[182]
put them into practice you got to see how they look in the form
[186]
of question that's similar to what you'll see when you take your exam
[190]
and that's when that practice comes in much like learning those vocabulary
[194]
words you want to plan out a little bit every day to do those questions so in
[198]
addition to learning the vocabulary watching the videos that we have on our
[203]
prep agent youtube channel attending some webinars
[206]
at some point you got to practice taking the test and like i said if you go to
[210]
the show notes below we have a link to the aceable website that provides some
[214]
great practice tests that will help you pass the georgia real estate exam
[219]
the next tip i think is pretty important do not spend a ton of time stressing
[224]
about the things that you struggle with remember the test is graded equally
[230]
there's not one question that's going to be worth 25 percent of your exam and the
[234]
other questions are worth 0.1 percent of the exams not like that
[238]
everything's equal and what bothers me is when somebody spends their entire
[242]
time stressing on one thing and they never take any time learning the things
[247]
that they would find pretty easy. For For example, if you don't like math like many
[251]
of us don't I know i don't I wouldn't spend your whole entire time
[255]
studying for the math when you could learn all those
[259]
vocabulary words to be ready for the rest exam one of my pet peeves when
[263]
people say i failed because of the math i failed because of the math
[267]
mathematically speaking that's not possible
[270]
if five percent of your exam was math i would say well what happened to the
[273]
other 95 of the exam you know what happened you spent your entire time
[278]
studying on this math that you're probably not going to get right anyway
[281]
and you completely ignore the other 95 percent
[286]
focus on your strengths nail it down chip away at it and work your way
[290]
through when you absolutely know a concept super well then move on to
[296]
something else so start with stuff that's easy and then just work your way
[300]
forward and if you get to the super hard stuff great if you don't get to the
[304]
super hard stuff well you'll still pass you just won't get 100
[308]
frankly nobody cares you know what they call the person who got the worst
[312]
passing grade on the real estate exam a real estate agent so stop stressing
[317]
about your weakness all the time focus on your strengths know enough so you can
[321]
pass the exam and move on so you can start selling real estate in the great
[325]
state of georgia and last but not least sometimes it
[330]
helps people to know a breakdown of what's on the exam i will go through a
[334]
breakdown of what's on the exam but just in case there are updates since
[338]
i did this video check the links in the show notes below
[342]
as the links will take you to updated information
[345]
of what's on your georgia real estate exam
[348]
as of today the topic breakdown would be agency relationship and contracts
[352]
there's 28 questions real property ownership and interest has 13 questions
[358]
finance 14 questions marketing regulation 10 questions property
[363]
management 8 questions and real estate calculations 13 questions that's a fancy
[368]
word for math i know scary don't worry remember what i said before
[373]
well i hope that helped this is joe from prep agent and those are five tips to
[378]
help you pass the georgia real estate exam and as always keep it concise and
[383]
keep it simple.
