[0]
batman right there is peter schweitzer
[1]
he's the author of the book red-handed
[4]
how american elites get rich helping
[6]
china
[7]
what do you make of this new report on
[9]
hunter-b well you probably know about it
[10]
already hunter biden and cobalt and
[12]
energy independence and collusion with
[14]
the chinese what do you know about this
[17]
yeah stuart it fits the pattern
[18]
unfortunately i mean hunter biden's
[20]
involvement with these chinese firms did
[22]
not just put money into the pocket of
[24]
the biden family uh he actually helped
[27]
serve the role of advancing chinese
[29]
interests around the globe
[31]
they bought a precision tool company in
[33]
michigan that has uh so-called civilian
[36]
and military uses
[38]
they were also invested in something
[40]
called cgn which is a chinese nuclear
[43]
atomic power company that was later
[45]
charged by the fbi for stealing nuclear
[48]
secrets in the united states so the
[50]
cobalt deal fits that pattern
[52]
this is an example of hunter bodies
[55]
serving the interests of the chinese
[57]
state at the expense of his own country
[60]
do you think we should go back
[62]
and check it out should we look
[64]
backwards
[65]
is that the right thing to do at this
[67]
point
[68]
i think we have to stuart uh we don't
[70]
really have another option i mean the
[72]
problem is if this is allowed to go on
[75]
uh what hunter biden did without any
[78]
accountability without any uh
[80]
investigation it's gonna become the the
[83]
pattern of behavior you're gonna have
[84]
politicians family members doing deals
[86]
with china even more than they are
[88]
currently so i think you have to deal
[90]
with this i think when congress comes in
[93]
in november if the republicans uh retake
[95]
the house you are probably going to see
[97]
some investigations with subpoena power
[99]
in the house of representatives and that
[101]
i think will probably shed more light on
[103]
exactly what went on how about the
[105]
durham probe which we are told is
[107]
accelerating and more people are
[110]
cooperating with the investigation this
[112]
is all about the spying on trump as a
[115]
candidate and trump in the white house
[117]
how do you think this plays out
[120]
well i think durham deserves a lot of
[122]
credit he's being very persistent and
[124]
very direct uh stuart if you go back to
[126]
what was watergate
[128]
watergate was basically a break-in
[130]
designed to get campaign information or
[133]
private dirt on uh from the democratic
[136]
national committee that's what led to
[137]
watergate this as far as what's been
[140]
reported by durham i think is 10 times
[143]
worse because this spilled over into
[145]
when donald trump was not just a
[146]
candidate which you can say okay that's
[148]
dirty tricks it may be illegal but
[151]
that's dirty tricks campaigning they
[153]
were still monitoring him illegally
[155]
while he was president of the united
[157]
states and that to me takes it to a
[159]
whole other level
[161]
i think clearly laws have been broken
[164]
here and somebody needs to go to jail
[166]
that broke the law if that does not
[168]
happen a stuart it makes a mockery of
[171]
any kind of restrictions on these kinds
[174]
of political shenanigans by political
[176]
candidates or contractors to the
[179]
government that were clearly involved
[180]
here as well are you surprised that the
[182]
media has walked away from this i mean
[184]
the washington post the new york times
[186]
have tackled it today but they're
[187]
dismissing the story and the rest of the
[189]
media simply isn't covering it
[192]
yeah i think they've stepped back stuart
[194]
because they took the initial narrative
[196]
hook line and sinker
[198]
they bought into the rumors the
[201]
speculation the claims that were never
[203]
supported by evidence and of course
[205]
robert mueller uh you know demonstrated
[208]
that they weren't supported i think
[209]
they're all embarrassed they don't want
[211]
to cover this because then it requires
[214]
them to go back and say all this
[216]
reporting that we did previously on this
[218]
was wrong
[220]
it's time for media to swallow their
[222]
pride be honest with their audiences i
[225]
think there should be scrutiny of
[227]
president trump but there also needs to
[229]
be equal scrutiny of president biden and
[232]
his family and that has clearly not
[234]
happened a lot of talk about hillary
[236]
clinton making a comeback
[238]
you think this puts paid to that whole
[240]
idea she can't run in 2024
[244]
yeah i think it's uh it's going to be a
[245]
challenge for her um look she still has
[248]
a strong following the democratic party
[250]
but let's just say she brings a lot of
[252]
baggage with her and this is only going
[254]
to be further baggage i mean this is an
[256]
investigation based on what durham's
[258]
found that continues to slowly creep its
[261]
way to the top of the ladder and i think
[263]
it's going to eventually
[265]
land at the footstep of hillary clinton
[268]
herself
[269]
so certainly she could be an attractive
[271]
candidate for the democrats in some
[272]
respects but i don't think she's a
[275]
viable candidate in 2024. okay we hear
[278]
you peter schweitzer thanks for being
[279]
