[12]
hello everyone and welcome to prosperity
[15]
and possibilities where i help you to
[17]
recognize the possibilities in your life
[20]
and give you ways to increase your
[22]
prosperity which is increasing your
[24]
wealth and your joy because wealth
[27]
without joy
[28]
is not true prosperity
[30]
so today i was trying to be a little
[32]
mysterious about the topic why well
[37]
i've been an accountant and financial
[40]
advisor for many many years
[43]
and i know there are topics that people
[46]
do not want to talk about
[49]
but this is one
[51]
that is extremely important and so easy
[54]
i swear to you this is going to be
[56]
something you can take action on
[59]
right now in the next five minutes
[62]
well after i'm done five minutes is all
[64]
it's going to take you and this is going
[67]
to
[68]
be so important
[71]
yeah i'm
[72]
i'm talking about a holograph will
[75]
a holograph will i hope piques your
[77]
curiosity because you're like okay i
[78]
know what a will is what's called
[80]
holographic is free
[82]
how's that
[84]
yeah so i know what happens when someone
[88]
dies without a will and i know
[90]
that it is a very
[93]
cruel thing
[95]
to do to die without a will
[98]
it's very cruel to the people you were
[100]
leaving behind they are going to be
[102]
possibly traumatized very much grieving
[106]
very overwhelmed there's so many things
[108]
to deal with
[109]
is
[110]
it's so stressful trust me i've had to
[114]
do it and i was so glad
[116]
that there was a holograph will
[120]
we had never gone to a lawyer to get an
[122]
actual will done
[124]
but this is a legally binding will now
[128]
it is here
[130]
i have looked it up and there are
[133]
different roles different places so
[135]
depending on what state or province or
[138]
country you live in you will need to
[141]
check you can look online and see just
[144]
search for the term holograph will i
[146]
will have that shared in the notes
[149]
um
[150]
there may be different requirements it
[152]
may not be a legal thing where you are
[154]
but chances are it is
[156]
now there are definite rules that you
[159]
have to follow to do this
[161]
but first before i get into those i want
[163]
to stress again how important this is if
[166]
you think well if i die without a will
[168]
everything goes to my spouse
[170]
no
[171]
if ever if everything will go to my
[173]
children no no it doesn't it goes to the
[178]
government's rules which there is a long
[182]
thing you don't want to read it but
[184]
there are rules that you have to follow
[186]
and that person cannot your spouse
[189]
that's left behind can't even do
[190]
anything
[193]
until they go to court
[195]
to get permission to administer your
[198]
estate
[199]
how's that for a nice gee babe sorry
[202]
i know you missed me can you go to court
[204]
so you can take care of this for me
[206]
that's mean don't do it
[209]
this it will cost you a piece of paper
[212]
all you need is a pen and a piece of
[214]
paper and
[215]
look it up online so you get the actual
[218]
instructions for where you live but i'm
[219]
going to give you the basic rules
[223]
number one
[224]
date it you put today's date on it so
[228]
right now for me that is october 23rd
[231]
2021
[232]
goes at the top
[234]
then you're going to write
[235]
this is the last will and testament of
[240]
and you're going to write your whole
[241]
name
[242]
one sentence
[244]
sentence two
[246]
you have to name an executor
[249]
for your will the executor is the person
[252]
who is going to be in charge of it you
[253]
need someone you can trust
[255]
and someone
[257]
they have to also be
[259]
intelligent they don't have to be able
[262]
to do everything themselves they just
[263]
have to know that they can hire people
[266]
the estate pays for that
[268]
um before other things are paid for but
[272]
they
[274]
have to have mental capacity they also
[277]
definitely have to live in your country
[280]
possibly in your state or province i'm
[282]
not clear on those rules and see i've
[285]
done a course
[286]
they taught me this stuff i'm not a
[288]
lawyer
[289]
this is not to replace a will
[292]
this is for those of you who are like
[294]
well i don't really know who i want to
[295]
leave what to and we haven't really
[297]
decided if we want to have custody of
[298]
the children and
[300]
okay
[301]
let's pretend you have five minutes to
[303]
live
[304]
do you want the government in charge and
[306]
the one you're leaving behind tortured
[308]
with having to go to court and figure
[309]
everything out or do you just want to
[311]
have them say oh thank god i got this
[313]
piece of paper
[316]
okay we're going for the second one
[318]
right
[320]
so here's what we're going to do
[322]
after you write the first sentence
[324]
this is the last will and testament of
[327]
and your name
[329]
i
[330]
name
[331]
and you're going to put the full name of
[332]
the person as the executor
[336]
you can have a second line if you want
[338]
this says if they are not available or
[341]
don't want to this person can be the
[343]
executor you can do that
[346]
that's two lines
[348]
one more line
[350]
i leave everything too
[352]
do not get creative you're not a lawyer
[355]
there's a lot of things that lawyers
[357]
know how to do with wills that are
[359]
important that you don't have to have to
[361]
make it so that you're dying without a
[364]
will
[364]
this is the basics five minutes take
[367]
control back from the government
[369]
so all you're going to say is everything
[371]
goes to it could be your spouse you can
[374]
name one person you can say everything
[377]
will be divided equally between and in
[380]
two people
[381]
you can say everything will be divided
[383]
equally amongst and name your children
[387]
you don't have to say equally you can
[389]
say this person gets 70 this one gets 30
[392]
but then you're starting to get into the
[394]
weeds
[395]
keep it simple
[397]
we don't want this coming back and being
[401]
a problem we want this to be you have a
[404]
will
[405]
i know somebody that
[407]
they was ill
[409]
and they were
[410]
they did the will with the lawyer and
[412]
they were going to go sign it on monday
[415]
and they died on sunday
[417]
so they died without a will
[420]
this will solve that problem
[423]
and you're going to do this right now
[426]
then you're going to go see a lawyer
[428]
later
[429]
so those three lines are really all you
[431]
need
[432]
but
[433]
they all the whole thing has to be
[436]
completely 100 percent hand written by
[440]
you
[441]
if it's your will
[443]
written by you if it's joe's will joe
[446]
has to write it you cannot write it for
[448]
somebody else it cannot be typed and
[450]
signed it has to be
[452]
100
[454]
in your handwriting and if you're
[456]
thinking oh but i don't know how to do
[458]
script that's fine you can print it as
[461]
long as you do it okay so if you have
[464]
those three things the four things the
[466]
date
[468]
this is the last will and testament of
[471]
i named this person as the executor
[473]
everything goes to
[475]
now sign it
[477]
i say sign it even though in some places
[479]
you require a witness and they have to
[481]
see you sign it sign it anyway
[484]
because you can rewrite it or you can
[487]
just resign it in front of somebody
[489]
we're talking about the cost of a piece
[490]
of paper here and it's not a lot of
[492]
words
[493]
there is two more lines that you can add
[496]
if you have children that are under age
[499]
and that would be
[500]
i name
[501]
this person as the guardian
[504]
or these people as the guardian
[507]
and i want this person to handle the
[510]
estate and trust for the children
[512]
so you can have one person that's really
[514]
good with children and one person that's
[516]
really good with money so you can divide
[518]
it up or you could have one person doing
[520]
both
[521]
that's fine
[522]
now all of these things i have had
[524]
pushback on when i have talked to people
[527]
well i don't know do you think your
[528]
sister might i don't really know any
[531]
pick somebody
[534]
it doesn't have to be perfect it's a
[536]
piece of paper this isn't when you go to
[539]
the lawyer and you have to have it all
[541]
good because it's going to cost you a
[542]
few hundred dollars to go back and do it
[545]
if you write it and you have it done
[549]
and you don't like it you can rewrite it
[551]
10 minutes later just destroy the one
[552]
you did 10 minutes earlier
[555]
there's one more step you need to do and
[557]
that is you have to tell
[559]
at least the executor
[562]
i would suggest also the beneficiaries
[565]
that there is a will and where you put
[567]
it
[568]
if you have any life insurance policies
[570]
i would keep it all together with that
[573]
that's another thing people like to have
[575]
together but this is
[578]
so easy
[579]
and it's so important and you will make
[581]
such a difference for those that you're
[584]
leaving behind
[585]
i've been there
[587]
it's not a fun place to be and if i had
[590]
had to deal with that
[591]
oh my gosh just one more thing would
[594]
have been
[595]
horrible
[597]
it took me this so long just before i
[599]
wanted to open mail again like it's just
[602]
there's
[603]
so much overwhelm and i guess it was
[606]
worth for me because i had um
[608]
all the trauma that i was coming out of
[611]
too so
[612]
but
[614]
this is important
[616]
now
[616]
i really hope you take action on this i
[619]
hope you tell other people about this
[621]
it's not hard to do
[623]
i do recommend
[626]
you still go see a lawyer and have a
[628]
lawyer do a will for you
[631]
that is because there are a lot of rules
[634]
that you don't know about i don't know
[636]
about what lawyers know about and they
[639]
will do a very good job
[641]
on your will so that you don't have any
[643]
worries but this will make it so that
[645]
you have a will
[648]
you don't die intestate the government
[650]
doesn't take control and your loved ones
[651]
don't have to go to court to get
[653]
permission to deal with your stuff
[655]
so
[656]
this was uh sort of a debbie downer
[659]
topic but
[660]
it was necessary and if you have it done
[663]
think about how much more peace of mind
[665]
you can have saying yeah no i do have a
[667]
will because it is a legal will
[670]
technically you have to check where you
[671]
live again
[673]
if you need a witness make sure you go
[675]
and get somebody to watch you sign it
[677]
and have them write their name maybe
[679]
their address phone number contact
[681]
information
[682]
um
[683]
when they witness it just so people can
[685]
get hold of them if they need to
[688]
so
[689]
now that that topic's over with
[692]
ah don't forget leave me a comment so
[695]
there's always going to be a link in the
[696]
description and likely an article on the
[699]
website that goes with this as long as
[702]
i'm on top of my game and uh leave a
[705]
comment
[707]
you can leave a comment on youtube
[708]
please if you have time
[711]
go and leave a review for the podcast
[714]
like subscribe those things will help me
[717]
to reach more people it seems like a
[719]
very tiny thing and it's like i don't
[721]
know if i want to click the like button
[722]
or not click it come on it's just a
[724]
little button as long as you have a
[726]
youtube account you can click it and i'm
[728]
sure on the podcast you can click that
[729]
little heart
[731]

[731]
